Customer service and the food portion is good when you dine in ONLY! The food is always delicious but when you order take out the portions are much smaller. Therefore when I usually order take out I always ask them to please make sure the broccoli & beef dish actually has beef since it has occurred in the past that I was not able to find the beef. They typically always reply ohh yeah we always do! But last time I did not ask them since they seem to get offended and sure enough my broccoli & beef dish only had 4 pieces... so I call them out on it! The manager got mad & ask me to drive back another 20 minutes to turn the dish after I had just spend over $80 on take out since he did not want to make it right nor refund the amount for broccoli & beef dish. We came to an agreement next time I ordered he would give me a credit with the amount of a broccoli & beef dish. Today when I ordered my take out he did was obviously not happy about it and make me wait extra long for just 2 Egg flower soups & house special fried rice. When asking for my soup to be properly packaged to avoid both cups of soup from breaking got irritated and started to be very rude & said well it going to take very long....
Anyone will ask/demand to get what they pay for! No one should be treated different or bad just for nicely asking someone to do what right...
I had been a customer for years but I will no longer be putting myself in that position again and rather find a new place that offers Great customer service &...
Read moreWe've been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. The food is ok. I always thought it odd after so many years that they didn't know my name or our regular order, so I asked them a few years back.."do you know my name?" they said "name not important".
I'm the kind of person that knows my dry cleaners name, my nail gal, my batista, my grocery peeps names, and they always know my name and what I like. I've been going to these people and giving them my money for decades, because they make me feel like a friend, or at least appreciated as a client. And when at their establishments I always tip for good service from the wait staff.
So back to Grand Peking.... during the covid years we got our food to go like most. We still get food to go at times. I stopped by to pick up a to go order last week, and again I asked "do you know who I am?"
The woman said "Yes, you don't tip."
I was shocked, and as she intended also humiliated and embarrassed. It never occurred to me to tip for to go food. We are not served, there is no waitstaff. Right or wrong, this rude restaurant server had no right to be so rude and humiliate me. And I always tip when we dine in. So she's also wrong.
Foods ok, (too much msg) but they don't give a damn about long term customers, so we won't be going there ever again, and we will be sure to tell our friends how badly they treat 10+ year customers...
Read moreSaw the ratings for this restaurant on Doordash and thought this place must be good given 4.7 ratings with over 1200+ reviews. I decided to place an order. Five minutes later, while waiting for my food to be delivered, I decided to check reviews on google and saw that google had much lower rating than what Doordash had. Well, I decided to get a third opinion and looked it up on Yelp, 3.0. At that point, I wasn't expect anything good coming out of Grand Peking. My food was delivered. I ordered house fried rice, happy family, and home style tofu. The shrimp and squid in the happy family were white and over-cooked, very bland to say the least. The tofu was super soft inside from it being overcooked. The fried rice was kind of bland without any flavor. I barely took 2 bites from each of the dishes and just couldn't stomach to eat anymore. Ended up tossing the happy family and the home style tofu. Just a suggestion from my experience, never trust doordash's ratings, check reviews on google and yelp first before you...
