I've visited Worthington Resorts once a year since 2019. I simply love this place. Last times were perfect. This time a have a couple suggestions:|||| -I know the rules say managers can change the room reservations if they consider they have to. First time that happened (I booked the Alcazar Room 205, they gave me the 105). I'd love Managers tell me next time before I arrive. A phone call would be nice, or an email explaining it. I'd say it's Okay, guys. As I'm telling you, I love the hotel. |||| -This hotel is ALWAYS clean. Bed was heaven, incredibly clean and cozy. This 3rd time the toilet wasn't that clean. It wasn't that bad, just telling you so you can tell the cleaning guys they can do it better. I insist: little details that doesn't mean I'm not coming back. |||| -This last complain is kind of embarrassing, but I decided to tell it. I'm kind of shy, and it was some hard for me to deal with a Front desk guy who is kind of sarcastic. I understand his style, I understand this kind of attitude in other guys in our LGBTQ community, but I simply wasn't in a good mood when I told him I was happy because that was my third time visiting the place, one night a year, and he answered "you should stay more days". I responded with the truth: I don't have the money for doing that. I wish, but I can't. Later on he was walking by the pools, talking to other guys and he saw me and said "you're so quite". Again, I had to answer, and I courteously said "yes, I'm a quite person". His face wasn't happy at all after that. |||| After one great night I decided to tell that part in the review because I truly think it's hard enough for a single gay guy to find a safe place and trying to do it have to deal with a person who's maybe a nice human being but doesn't understand sarcasm could be hurtful if a customer is not in a good day, or month or moment...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay at Villa Venice over the Labor Day weekend. There were three of us traveling together, so we booked a suite plus an adjoining room to give us a 2BR/2BA suite with a full kitchen. It was perfect for us. Under Covid protocols, they did not have daily room cleaning, although you could request it if it is important to you. We found that whenever we needed something, all we had to do was ask.||||The grounds are very tropical and well maintained. The pools always seemed clean and the water was clear. ||||All three buildings in the resort were sold out for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights; however, it never seemed "too crowded." There was always a lounge chair available in the day time. On occasion, you might need to wait for a spot in the hot tubs in the evening, but the heated pools were not a bad alternative.||||While there are gay resorts in or closer to Wilton Manors, we prefer to be able to walk to the beach and not have to travel back in a rental car or uber with wet clothes and sand that inevitably didn't wash off of something. Ubers to and from Wilton Manors were always...
Read moreThis was our fourth visit to the Worthington, but the first time staying at the Villa Venice side. As you might expect from us being repeat customers, we love this place. The resort is beautifully landscaped, everything is super clean, rooms are nice, beds are amazingly comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.
If you can schedule it, try hard to be there on a Saturday for Happy Hour. It's the best time to meet other guests and start new friendships. Each time we've stayed at the resort we've made friends who we keep in contact with after returning home.
The resort complex has three pools, two hot tubs, and a small gym. Each of the pools has a different vibe, so try them all to see which fits your mood. We spent most of our time at the Villa Venice pool, even in the past when our room was in the Alcazar.
They have a free continental breakfast every morning which is a really nice way to start the day. Ask me about the granola -- it is...
