I stayed at this hotel a year ago and had a great experience, so my husband and I decided to return. However, this time was a complete disaster. Upon arrival, we found out that the pool was closed, and instead of accommodating us properly, they just told us to go to the other hotels pool , the Winterset, where the conditions were unacceptable. The worst part? They didn’t even have a bathroom! Every time we needed to use the restroom, we had to cross the street and walk to the other hotels where we had the room—which was incredibly inconvenient.
Despite this, we tried to enjoy our stay. The second day while at the pool, we had music playing at a moderate volume and even asked the other guests if it was okay, to which they all agreed. We even started chatting with them. Suddenly, at around 6:30 PM, a man approached us, demanding that we turn off the music because he “couldn’t sleep.” The request seemed unreasonable since it was still early, but we lowered the volume anyway to be respectful.
Ten minutes later, the same man came back, this time speaking rudely and aggressively, insisting that we turn the music off completely. I politely asked him to be respectful and said, “Could you please be nice? You can say it in a good way.” His response? “You stupid girl, turn off the music!” This was incredibly offensive. First of all I’m a lady and I he should’ve treated me with the same respect we treated him, I stood my ground and told him not to insult me. He continued yelling and making a scene, and no one from the hotel came to stop him.
When we arrived, the first night the bed was tucked in as they usually prepare it, so I didn’t notice anything the first night. However, on the second night, when we came back to the room after the encounter with that person, I pulled back the sheets, I found a cut nail at the bottom of the bed, where the feet go. This was absolutely disgusting and showed a clear lack of proper cleaning. So I decided to go home that night.
I paid for two nights for nothing, only to be mistreated and disrespected by another guest and forced to stay in subpar conditions. This place has gone downhill, and I will never return. I strongly do not recommend this hotel. I didn’t ask for any type of compensation or discount or anything I just left that night I’m only letting this review so this doesn’t happen to someone else. After months of working we pay two nights to disconnect and celebrate valentines and this was a...
Read moreEDIT: We originally left a poor review that had NOTHING to do with the property itself or the room (facilities here are terrific which is why we've been coming to their hotels for years... you cannot beat the value). It was directly related to a couple of negative interactions we had. After several failed attempts to be heard, we eventually got directed to Amanda (from what I understand she is with HR). She was amazing. She listened to EVERYTHING we said. She addressed each issue, INDIVIDUALLY, and devoted a lot of time to helping us out. All the North Beach Village properties are great and we LOVE coming back multiple times per year. In fact, this trip has put us in a unique position and we are deciding whether we want to relocate to Fort Lauderdale through the end of the year (because we are getting married in Miami this August!) While we had a hiccup this trip, it will not deter us from returning in the future. We understand this isn't the Ritz Carlton, but all of their properties are meant to feel like a welcoming community and that is what we expect (and typically get) when we come. I encourage everyone to checkout the North Beach Village Resort website and take a look at all 12(ish?) of their properties. They have everything from studios to HUGE penthouse units... and even at the largest room, the prices are incredible. Each unit on each property is unique from the ones before it which is why we love to bounce around between properties when we have longer trips. Again, the prices and location are unbeatable. If you do not book with them, you are doing yourself...
Read moreTerrible experience. -(Early) checking took about 25 minutes (I was the only one there mind you) as there is nobody at the desk and you got to call somebody to check you in. Room had a musty smell that they are trying to cover with cheap strong perfume: it doesn’t work) -AC was broken and was making so much noise that I had to unplug it to be able to sleep (I reported the incident to front desk worker and asked to change room she told me that she will have an engineer coming over and that they will text me later on to let me know if they could accommodate me: it never happened) -Mattress quality is just terrible (even for a 2 Stars) -Room was not even cleaned or tidy up during my 2 nights stay there. When made aware of my poor experience overall the conversation got heated very quickly with another front desk worker telling me “not to argue with them!”. After many back and forth they did move me to another room but it was useless as it was few hours before my check-out. Still waiting for a Manager (if there is any) to help me sort this mess out. What was supposed to be a relaxing two day trip turned into...
