We came across these condos on booking.com. We booked a 2 bedroom unit and and 1 bedroom unit without realizing that these are the condos in the Westgate property. So I wanted to make sure people understand that you get most of the amenities that Westgate offer. We were very happy with our stay (Dec 22-25) and will definitely consider for a return visit.||Hotel/Location: As mentioned, your rooms are located in westgate. Every driver will know it by westgate and not Condos at the Canyon (or whatever name is listed in the website). Hotel is located in Canyons and about 40 mins from SLC. There is a lot of construction going on around this hotel so it can get a tad noisy. There is a nice lobby where you check in (same counter as westgate guests). From there, the hotel can get a tad tricky as there are multiple connecting buildings (ie Bison, moose, elk, etc) that may require a few different elevator transfers. The decor is nice. IT is not uber luxurious but still clean and well kept. You are a short 10 min drive to Park City. Also a very short walk to the Red Pine Gondola. So you can't technically ski to your door, but pretty darn close. ||Service: Fantastic for this type of lodging. Something I would expect to find at a 5 star resort. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. There are people everywhere to assist with luggage, skis, etc. 2 huge amenities that I wanted to mention are the ski service and shuttle service. Although located on separate floors, they offer ski lockers and ski concierge. The lockers are staff by at least 2-3 people. This is where you can store your boots (they will even dry it for you) and other things. there are free bottle water for you to drink as well. Then you take the elevator up 2 floors and you will find the ski concierge. When you arrive, you can ask them to pick up your equipment (or you can drop them off). They will tag them and store them. When you are ready to ski, they will drop them off for you at the gondola. When you are done skiing, you hand it to them at the gondola. When you are ready to check out, they will deliver them to your room. What a fantastic service! Very fast service and nothing was ever lost or misplaced. The other great service was the shuttle. YOu download an app to summon the shuttle. It was basically like a free Uber. The shuttle can accommodate up to 11 people at a time. Wait time wasn't too bad (there was 1 time we waited 15-20 mins) considering it is free. We used it to get to the market and Main street. Drivers were very nice. It does end service at 10:30pm. Still a fantastic free amenity. ||Rooms: The 2 bedroom (1 bedroom with connecting studio) was pretty spacious. IT was located off the main elevators in Bison wing and was a short walk to the restaurants, ski lockers, pool ect. The furniture were all basic. Beds were comfortable and the pull out couch was a decent size for my teen boys. There is also a pull out lounge chair good for 1 person. I loved the large dining table. Kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/dishes. There was a washer/dryer (which was not advertised) and that came in really handy. Wifi was fairly strong throughout the property. One of the biggest perks were the showers. They had both a waterfall and regular shower head. Both showers were steamed shower. There were ample towels in the unit. The 2 bedroom comfortably fit 2 familys (9 people total). There was a small patio. Not much storage for clothes though. ||Amenities: There were 2 restaurants attached (high end steakhouse and burger bar). Both had bar areas. Small coffee shop in the lobby. One of the biggest perk was the market that is also the only state liquor store at Canyons. Made life simple. The indoor/outdoor pool was also a hit for the kids. There was not hot food or drink service there. I also liked the adult pool area (with steam room and sauna). I really thought all of the amenities were fantastic for this level of lodging. ||||Just a couple of things to keep in mind...when you book with White Pines, you don't get all of the Westgate amenities. No room service or housekeeping. For needs, you call a separate phone number. But to me, it was not a big deal.||||Overall, the lodging was avg, but what makes this resort over the top was the services you get. I would...
Read moreWe stayed at Condos at Canyons for four nights during our first ski trip to park city. We stayed in a studio which was okay for us size-wise (couple) but may be too small for larger groups. ||||These units are located at the Westgate Resort but are not managed by Westgate. You'll have access to most amenities (skier services, local transport, pools, etc.) but there are some which you will not (daily cleaning, room service). This is a wholistic review of our experience so Westgate might be responsible for some issues and White Pine for others.||||PROS:||- Free shuttle from 7am to 10:30pm to almost every location in Park City (Canyons, Park City, Kimball Junction, Deer Valley). You download an app and request a ride much like Uber. The longest we had to wait for a ride was only 15 minutes. A great amenity.||- Skier Services (Ski Valet). As others have mentioned, no one really explains how it works but once you figure it out, it's a great service. Basically, once you have your skis, you'll need to register them with Skier Services. Then every morning you call them and ask them to prepare your equipment. They'll have them ready for you right by the Red Pine Gondola. After a day of skiing, they'll be waiting by the gondola to store your skis again for you. If you rent your skis from a third-party that's not located nearby (like we did), you can leave your skis with Skier Services and your third party will pick up directly from them when it comes time to return. ||- The units themselves will have everything you need. Since there is no daily housekeeping, our unit was well-stocked with towels, toilet paper, etc. We had a studio and it did not have a washer/dryer but I believe the 1BR and up units have them.||- Location. If you're skiing Canyons, it's a short walk to Red Pines or Orange Bubble Express lifts. If you're skiing PC or Deer Valley, the free shuttle will take you there without hassle. ||||CONS:||- The layout of the resort is a bit confusing. The staff do their best to explain the layout and they provide maps but there were still a couple of occasions where we got lost. Navigating this place requires a lot of elevators. ||- There was a huge construction site less than 10 feet from our window. I know this is really out of the resort's control, but there were noises in the morning and in the evening. ||- Our particular room had EXTREMELY dry air. The unit does have a humidifier but we didn't notice it until the end of our stay. If dry air affects your sinuses (like me), be sure to use the humidier||- There were dirty items in the dishwasher when we arrive. The coffee pot also had coffee that seemed like it was at least a week old. Not really the best first impression. And we arrived per the time we confirmed with White Pines the day before. Additionally the front desk confirmed that the room was ready when we arrived. ||- The adult pool/spa gets extremely busy after a day of skiing as you can imagine, but there's not nearly enough chairs and loungers in that area. ||||Overall, our stay was okay. We were there for skiing and it that regard, they do a good job catering...
Read moreWe booked a One-Bedroom King Suite (with balcony) for 2 adults for 4 nights. Due to special dietary concerns we prefer to prepare the majority of our own meals rather than eating at restaurants while vacationing. Based upon the amenities of this condo, we felt it would be a good option for cooking, plus it looked close to the activities we wanted to participate in. It did not disappoint. We would definitely consider this condominium again and recommend it to others.||||Pros||+ Good interior space||+ Fairly well-equipped kitchen (see cons)||+ Double sinks in bathroom||+ Steam shower||+ 3 pools – 1 indoor pool (adults only), 1 indoor/outdoor pool combo, 1 outdoor pool, several whirlpool spas||+ Gas BBQ grills available for guests to use (see cons)||+ Covered parking garage (see cons)||+ Half basketball court, children’s swing set/jungle gym||+ In the heart of the Canyons Resort steps away from shopping, restaurants, chairlifts||+ Excellently equipped fitness center (cardio, free weights, lots of machines), though dark and crowded with equipment||||Cons||- Resort lacked fire pits for cool nights. Disappointing given the mountainside location and knowing that many surrounding condo resorts offer them. ||- BBQ grills were not cleaned and no tools available in the common area to clean them with||- BBQ grill thermometers did not work||- Building interior and our condo décor were a little dated (but clean)||- Layout of building was confusing (needed a map to get from parking garage to condo)||- Kitchen lacked bowls with lids for storing leftovers in the fridge OR Saran wrap for covering leftovers||- Kitchen lacked BBQ grill tools (long tongs and spatula)||- Kitchen lacked quality non-stick pans and lids for cooking||- Unclear on recycling program for the complex – make it clear as to which materials are recyclable and which are not (paper, glass, plastic, cardboard, etc.)||- Check-in materials stated trash would be picked up daily from the condo between 10a-2p but it never was.||- Wall-mount TV was over the fireplace and made it uncomfortable to watch when sitting on the sofa or loveseat (too high; neck hurt afterward)||- Our balcony was 3 floors directly above either trash compactors or trash bins so the odor sometimes made it unbearable to sit outside on the balcony to enjoy the...
