I've done it dozens of cracker barrels across the United States and this has got to be the worst managed that I've ever seen. The worst service that we've ever received. Before I go on and tell you my story I got to say that this is not the way we have experienced most cracker barrels across the United States. This one just happens to be bad
Our waitress was not very attentive and didn't bring the bread out right away. All three of our drinks were empty and we were hungry and I had to go looking for the waitress to get drinks and bread. When I finally found her she was bringing her food out and she said that she was waiting on my chicken. I told her she needed to be checking on the customer's not waiting on the food.
After she served the food I said listen we need drink refills, and she said she would get them right away. Several more minutes passed and she was non-existent again so for the second time in 10 minutes I got up looking for my waitress. I decided to instead ask for the manager because I couldn't find the waitress again. When a manager finally did come out I told him that our service sucked. I couldn't figure out why he got an attitude with me immediately and kept telling me that that was my opinion and that nobody else felt that way. And he said our servers don't suck. I told him that he had a nice attitude. I also told him that this is the only cracker barrel that we've ever been to or managers didn't come to the table to ask us how things were so that I could tell him that things were not good. He said he was busy in the back cooking, and I asked him why he was cooking instead of checking on his guests? And he informed me that that was not my concern. As we got closer to the table his attitude continued and he repeated himself that the servers there were not all bad and that was just my personal opinion. I realized a short time later he thought I said that all the servers suck when all I said was that our service sucked. One of the other servers in the area realized that we were getting bad service and she offered to help. But I had asked the manager to wait on us. Which after checking to see if our drinks were full which they finally were after 15 minutes, he never came back to the table until I asked for him again. I informed him that he misunderstood me, and he offered no apologies for the terrible service nor ask how the food was or anything else related to my experience he still had an attitude which I couldn't stand. By the time we have gotten the food the kids food was cold although mine was hot they obviously use metal presses on my chicken breasts and cook every ounce of juice out of them they were hard and they were flat as a pancake. But I never got a chance to tell that to anybody because there was nobody around. Kids and I just wanted to leave and get out of there, I don't want to go to the checkout they asked how things were and I told him it was terrible food and terrible service. I told them that evidently management didn't understand the rules of restaurants, rule number one the customer's always right and rule number two if there's any question about rule number one refer back to rule number one. To which I was rudely informed that just wasn't true. Is there any restaurant managers reading this specially if you're from cracker barrel you got to understand one thing the entire store operates based on the managers management, culture and demeanor. Almost every employee we encountered there had the same demeanor and culture is the general manager, crappy! Not inly we're we not offered any apologies, we weren't given any consolation or discount or anything for that matter. Thank God we don't live here so don't ever have to worry about coming back. But before you come here you should consider my review. Regional management I think you know this place has subpar management and you should probably do something about it! Fortunately we've had enough great experiences at the other cracker barrels around the country to know that this is not the way they're...
Read moreI used to love going to Cracker Barrel. The food was good. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere was nice. The last couple of visits, however, were nothing like the aforementioned. Yesterday’s visit was the worst, by far. For starters, my son took me and my friend out for our birthdays. I had surgery not too long ago. I have a cane I use to help me walk and balance myself. The hostess asked me how many in my party. I told her 3. She proceeded to take us far away. I got her attention and asked her if we could sit closer to the door. She said that section was closed, but there were people sitting in that section already. So, she took us to another section, again in the back. Again, I told her I have mobility issues, she shrugged, let out a huffing sound, rolled her eyes and told us where to sit. We didn’t sit there. Instead we sat closer to the front of the section. The manager looked over as he was speaking to the hostess, and I couldn’t help but feel as if they were talking about us. I immediately felt uncomfortable.
The waitress comes, and seemed like she was going to be great. We asked for biscuits and ordered drinks. She brought the drinks. We asked for biscuits again. She came back and asked if we were ready to order. We ordered, and asked for biscuits again. We finally get the biscuits.
The food comes, my friend ordered a hamburger steak, salad and loaded baked potato. Her hamburger steak was hard as a rock. Her potato was running late and her salad was ok.
My son ordered $8.99 early dinner of catfish, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. He got one piece of catfish and it was super small. His mashed potatoes has hard lumps in them. His macaroni and cheese was ok.
I ordered 8.99 steak tips, steak fries and macaroni and cheese. My steak tips were like leather. My fries were good and my macaroni and cheese was cold, not room temp, but cold.
I brought my food home and fed it to the dogs.
The manager asked me if we enjoyed our dinner. I wasn’t going to lie. I told him the food had changed a lot. He got upset with me and raised his voice where everyone could hear. He said loudly, “We have the same food we always had! We have not changed in 20years.”
I proceeded to tell him about the sub par food and he walks off snickering at me.
Horrible experience. I doubt very seriously I will ever go back into into...
Read moreFor the past couple of days, I’ve been trying to order online for delivery at this location. However, I’ve been unsuccessful. After several attempts I gave up (later found out that delivery was offline). I tried to use the phone app and the website and same result. Today I decided to order for pickup. Lots of errors occurred on the app and website once again. After several attempts my order was finally placed. It was due for pickup at 130pm. As I was heading there, we received a text saying the order didnt go through online even after we had confirmation and that we had to pay upon arrival. This whole situation was very inconvenient and frustrating. The whole reason I tried to order from here and get delivery was because we just got back from hospital after several days from giving birth the last thing I wanted to do was cook or go anywhere. And we had a gift card as a gift. Hence the reason for choice to eat. Upon arrival, I told the cashier what’s going on. I paid for my meal there at the register at 126pm and was told to wait around and they will bring it out. I did not receive my meal until 142pm. So much for quick order and pickup. No apologies or acknowledgement was made by the staff. It was very awkward hanging around the store waiting for your food amongst a society who doesn’t care about social distance, manners, or acknowledgement. There isn’t even a designated place to wait. It’s like a free for all. Once I received my meal and we got home which is only a couple minutes away. We realize the food was not warm and tasted like it’s been sitting around forever. While parts of the food tasted good. The quality of freshness was horrible. Yea i am aware that it was take out and the quality will be diminished. That’s common sense but this straight up tasted like it was left there for several hours and cold for the most part. Besides the order was wrong as well. They left out some of the biscuits which is another frustration. In general, app and website Service is horrible. Friendliness of cashier was good. Service as a whole was horrible and very slow and no acknowledgements for wrong doings. Food was a 4/10. Order was wrong. Structure of lines in store was absolutely nonexistent. Pandemic health precautions from society/customers/clientele was horrible. I’ll be sure to not visit that...
