City of Helen Riverside Park — Attraction in Helen

Nice little play area for kids ~2-12. It's right by the road, which is nice when you are walking through the city so you can just hop off the sidewalk and make a detour for your kids, but it's unfortunately not fenced in. There is a steep place you can step down to get into the river, and again no fence to keep kids from getting in, but there is a good distance between the river and the playground. They need to put sod out, it's mostly dirt outside the play area. There are a couple shaded porch swings, benches, and there is a neighboring building with public restrooms but they were locked when we visited, so maybe they are only open for festivals or during busy season. Watch out if it has rained recently, there's a few puddles around the playground and under the swings. Parking is a little further down the road, don't park at the rentals and get towed! City of Helen Riverside Park is a beautiful and clean park that I just cherish. Everything here looks like it’s straight from a movie by just how wholesome and good it all looks. The park is simple, but its elegancy allows it to truly leave an impression on anyone in it. The playground and swings are nice and seemed fun. The bathrooms are clean unlike most parks. It’s just overall a great time here and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting or living in the beautiful, gorgeous, dream-like...

An important thing to remember about this park is that they have restrooms! LOL But seriously, they have never been filthy, gross, etc anytime we have used them!

Of course there is playground equipment for the kids, nice riverside picnic areas, and a revolving number of seasonal displays for that great photo...
