BUYER BEWARE...STALE/OLD candy. Omg! I nearly died when my total was $51 for two Candy Apples and one tiny pecan log a couple of pieces of a couple of small items. No one gave me a receipt at the time instead I got emailed a receipt after I left there which indicated I was charged double the price for the pecan log thus the highly exorbitant amount that didn't add up. Couple of kids working there who apparently had no idea what they were doing. Then let's talk about what we bought. The pecan log was the only thing that was any good in the whole mess. I suspect it's probably not made there. The dark chocolate covered cherries were edible, but the chocolate covered orange was absolutely horrid and tasted like medicine it was so gross. Then to top it all off and add insult to injury, we bought two candied apples which were Granny Smith apples or so it said and cost $8.50 a piece. The apples were so close to rotten it was absolutely gross you've been into the thing and instead of being a Krispy krunchy Apple it was a mushy tasteless disgusting mess. I thought and hoped maybe it was just mine but when my sister tried hers about 20 minutes after me it was absolutely the same thing. So I walked out the door and bit into an apple that was disgusting right after we left there and hers was the same way so obviously the apples were all old and they were exorbitantly overpricing old apples I guess to get rid of them because who the hell would buy it if they knew it was like that. Absolutely do not recommend this place waste of money and you're just going to end up throwing it in the...
Read moreCandy is great, no doubt. Staff was very rude (3 different members) and refused to give sample of the candy. So I had to pay almost $2 to buy one piece just to find out I did not like it. My husband was going to buy a good bit of fudge for family and friends unfortunately after the lady gave him a sample piece of one flavor he told her he would take a pound of that one then asked for another sample of a different flavor and she said you can only taste one. Never heard of such. Well guess we are not buying anymore not buying something we don't know taste good. It was absurd my husband I go on many trips a year and never been in a shop where they weren't more than happy and ready to give you a small bite, they want you to buy it. Now my husband and son is very nice and passive so he simply told the lady that will be it I guess she proceeded to put his fudge on the counter and asked another girl to help him because she had stuff to do. That girl seemed annoyed as well and then didn't understand what my son wanted when she got to him. He is grown and speaks clearly, lol. Needless to say three different employees and everyone of them was rude to a different member of our family. So unfortunately my review is very rude, unprofessional, overpriced, and greedy. We will go back to Helen as we have before but will definitely not be spending our money in this...
Read moreThis could’ve been 4 stars, but unfortunately the people working here were not very welcoming or helpful. The lady packing our selections couldn’t describe the difference between any candies, stating that she had never tried them. We couldn’t get a smile out of her no matter what. The candy is very pricey and some of it did not taste as great as I imagined, but it is very fun to sample the different types. Just be prepared because even the tiniest candy’s are almost $2 a piece. Candy pictured was $100 worth. They do give some samples of larger things like fudge and brittle.
*I personally recommend going to the other Hansel and Gretel, the one that is more inland. The employees there were much more enthusiastic and helpful. And also, take pictures of the candy so you remember what it’s...
