I had the pleasure of dining at this remarkable Mexican restaurant, and it was an experience worth raving about! From their delectable tamales to their mouthwatering rice and beans, every bite was a delightful explosion of authentic flavors.
Let's start with the standout dish - the rice. I must say, the rice served at this restaurant was hands down the best I have ever had. Each grain was perfectly cooked and infused with aromatic seasonings that elevated its taste to a whole new level. It was fluffy, flavorful, and so incredibly satisfying. I couldn't help but savor each spoonful, wishing I could have endless servings.
The tamales were another highlight of the meal. They were expertly prepared, steamed to perfection, and bursting with traditional Mexican flavors. The masa dough was moist and tender, while the fillings were generously portioned and incredibly flavorful. It was evident that great care was put into crafting these tamales, and it truly made all the difference.
To complement my meal, I enjoyed their assortment of affordable drinks. The drink prices were incredibly wallet-friendly without compromising on taste or quality. The refreshing and authentic Mexican beverages perfectly complemented the meal, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Furthermore, the service provided was exceptional. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure that I had a memorable dining experience. It was evident that they took pride in their work and genuinely cared about their customers' satisfaction.
In summary, I cannot recommend this Mexican restaurant enough. The rice alone would make it worth the visit, but the tamales and affordable drinks complete the experience. With its superb flavors, superb service, and unbeatable pricing, this is a culinary gem that should not be missed. I look forward to my next visit and another opportunity to indulge in their...
Read moreI wish that we had this restaurant at home. Both my wife and I rate this as a 9.5/10 based on what we ordered, now hear me out on why and what you can do to get a higher score from other diners and a perfect score from us. Let's start with the obvious star side dish: Chiles toreados. Don't change a thing and thanks for the lime. In the same realm if people complain about your house salsa being spicy tell them that the recipe for salsa often includes jalapenos. You are the only Mexican place I have been to that serves medium salsa instead of mild and I think I could even taste a little cilantro. The cherry coke. You cared enough to give me a cherry syrup shot in my coke like an old time soda fountain would. You know not a lot of restaurants care about their customers like that anymore. At least not where we are from. As to our main dish the quesadillas, great flavor on those. Don't change them. Now on to the changes I would ask for. Ditch your corn chips and get better ones that have more flavor. The white queso may not be the best either go for more of a rich dairy flavor in it and it should be thicker when it's made. Have a contest with the chips and queso, if there are other cost effective options, and have your chefs and staff vote on them. La Cabana was the best place I ate at here and not only should this town have a Mexican restaurant, it should have one as good as you guys with people in charge that treat your customers like we were treated. Not only was the service good but the choices that were made to serve me high quality peppers with a half of a lime, coke with cherry syrup, good quality ingredients like that were in the quesadillas, and the insistence on serving authentic salsa (which makes it more addictive in my opinion); this is what makes a restaurant that will be here for the duration and do well. Good service rarely makes up for average...
Read moreI am shocked by the good reviews, as it was not our experience, by long shot. While the people were friendly and attentive when we arrived, that attentiveness ended once the food was delivered. No drink refills, we had to hunt down the bill.
The real problem was the strange food service. First, despite it not being very busy, the food took a long time, and was not worth the wait
I ordered the chimi, which I was shocked to find resembled a gas station taquito, more than a restaurant chimi. Worse they buried the tiny thing under a mountain of tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream, leaving most of the chimi soggy. Oddly, the tomatoes were warm, likely because the order sat on the hot table too long. I actually wondered if the tomatoes were canned.
Another in our party ordered a tamale, which was dry on the inside, and smothered in a red sauce... this went 90% uneaten.
The last dish is anyone’s guess. It looked like a black slime on a yellow liquid. It was supposed to be a pepper. It went uneaten, after being described as tasting slimy, burnt and disgusting. Don’t believe me? Check out the weird image included.
As for the restaurant itself, the floors looked clean, but everything seemed dated and beat. From the banged up furniture, the the chipped plate (every plate at our table was chipped. The ceiling tiles were riddled with water stains, and the air vents were quite dirty.
Overall, this place reads of a restaurant where the people do not care any longer. Even the wait staff seems to know this, as we were near the wait station, and could overheat them talking about the people complaining...
