Family of 5 Private tour of Oahu.

We took a private tour of the island starting from our hotel at Waikiki and had a brilliant day. Our driver Cortez (who was excellent) asked us what we would like to see. We had several spots on our list, but for the majority of the tour we relied on his local knowledge to show us this beautiful paradise and it did not disappoint.

Over the duration of 8 hours we got to see the south, east, and north shores. We had plenty of stops to take in the beautiful scenery with ample photo opportunities, as well as places to stop and swim along the way. We had plenty of laughs, ate amazing food at the north shore, swam with local sea turtles, and got some amazing insights in to the history and current way of life on the island.

The beauty of this tour was the flexibility it offered. We could pick and choose what we wanted to see in our own time. If we came across a spot we liked, we would stay and explore before moving on to the next location. There was never any pressure to be forced back in to car to get to the next destination, it was all done in Hawaiian time which was perfect👌🏻

Very disappointed with Custom Island Tours. My fiance and I came down with Covid the evening before our tour. We called trying to cancel, and received a call back that it was not possible since it was a little less than 24 hours (usually understandable). My fiance and I then planned to stay back (obviously) and my family would proceed with the tour. The next morning (morning of the tour) I received a phone call that our tour guide called in sick (ironic) and that they needed to find a replacement last minute. My family proceeded on the tour without us, 5 instead of 7, and there was no refund for the 2 of us that did not get to go. Though they enjoyed the tour where they mostly spent the day at the sea park, they mentioned that their tour guide though nice did not have much knowledge of the island and only did the gig as a side hustle. It would have been nice if they let us cancel since our original guide called in sick and 2 of us had covid, or at least offer a refund for the 2 of us that did not get to go. What an amazing day! From the moment Lei picked us up we knew it was going to be a fantastic day. We chose the private tour with our own custom options day and to say it didn’t disappoint is an understatement. Lei had so much amazing knowledge of her beautiful Oahu, not only the history but everything in-between. When she said she was “full of useless information” I knew we’d be friends and there were no questions she wasn’t willing to answer… and we asked a LOT! Traveling with teens can sometimes be a challenge and they both agree this day was an absolute hi light of their trip. We couldn’t have asked for someone more fitting to our family and for a more laid back, fun, silly and make a new friend kind of day. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lei as your go to girl, to show your family everything and anything you could possibly want to see, do or know about this beautiful island.
