If you like movie theaters that also serve meals and adult beverages, then a place you need to visit is The Tuck Room. Located near the Houston Galleria, this is a fast- growing chain of restaurants/movie theaters that sets itself apart from the competition by emphasizing better food, an enhanced movie viewing experience, and excellent beverages.
At the Tuck Room, guests will be treated to a nice assortment of food and beverages. They have appetizers and main dishes, among them sandwiches, steak, ribs, seafood, and the like. They just recently enhanced the menu with keto- friendly options, perfect for those who are following one of these diet plans. I have tried many of the foods here but I was most impressed by the ribs. They are fall- off- the bone tender and delicious.
The atmosphere at The Tuck Room is more intimate, with soft lighting and a more elegant appearance. The wait staff, likewise, maintain a more sophisticated persona that you would expect. The rad lighting in the bar area was one of the standouts to me and I liked the atmosphere overall. They have multiple bars and meeting spaces, making it perfect for those who want to schedule a special event.
Probably the most memorable part of a visit to The Tuck Room is the movie theaters. Known as iPic Theaters, these places for film watching are smaller than the theaters you’re used to and they take the concept of comfort to new levels. The reclining seats are situated in pairs, perfect for a romantic evening. They even come complete with a pillow and blanket for each guest! Needless to say, you can get very comfortable when you watch a movie at The Tuck Room’s iPic Theater and this easily sets it apart from other places.
Lots of movie theaters nowadays serve foods and adult beverages, but the Tuck Room is in a class by itself. The food, drink, service, and intimacy of the theaters are like few others and make the Tuck Room a place that belongs on your radar and a place everyone should experience...
Read moreMy order was never put in. Nobody ever checked on my order or asked if I needed anything. If I didn't specifically ask for a drink or a water refill, I wouldn't have got that either. 2 hours later, I was "full" on water, since that was the only thing the servers could manage to get right. It was SLOW in the restaurant with only a few tables that came and went ... all that were served and closed out before I could even get a refill. The food that did come to the table was sub-par, and one of our party couldn't get the correct order for food OR her drink, but at least she got one. They took a card to hold on file, eventhough we told them we were splitting the check, only to have them run the entire table on one tab, INCLUDING items we NEVER got. Highly recommend going ANYWHERE else if you actually are hungry. The service, the food, and the atmosphere are not worth the long and tiresome wait. Our group was talking about how terrible things were when we got back to the hotel, and I think the front desk lady felt sorry for me never getting my food, and she gave me something from the hotel's grab and go area for free. SUPER sad that I got better service from my hotel lobby than I got from the entire experience at The Tuck Room. If you're looking to deliberately prank someone or tank a date or outing... that would be the ONLY reason to recommend this place. If I could give zero stars, I would. So glad that at least the tap...
Read moreThis place is designed to be an ancillary food service for the theater it is located in. Posh, plush, classy, whatever word that it can be used does a good job of that. The ownership put their best foot forward in this respect.
I want to say on a convenience position this really is a good way to go if you want to make an evening of dinner/movie/drinks. The menu is clearly "gastropub-y" but nothing original for the most part. Perhaps this trend is on the downward slope of such cycles.
Fillet Sliders are a favorite Any Pizza though I am a fan of the Mushroom one. Tots and bacon ketchup (yes seriously bacon)
Like most new high end places they might put too much emphasis on the plating and less on the actual food. I get it, you fancy, but maybe I am one of the few who would rather have it taste good than look good....Yes, I am still talking about food. Throw in too many ingredients and the direction is lost. Case in point. Beef Kebab...Sweet, Savory, Spicy, salty at the same time? Reminds me of that Willy Wonka Thanksgiving bubblegum in the original movie.
BTW: You can basically have a party in the bathroom lounge. Holy Crap. Let me say how fantastically loungy it is. Serious talk, go use the bathroom there. best experience in Houston.
Tuck Room will do well as a date night occasion. They still got some stuff to work out but in due time it will be...
