We stayed at this hotel for one night. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and the staff proved to be friendly and helpful. As for the room, the overall impression was that the entire property is in need of renovation: both the corridors and the rooms featured old, worn carpeting that should be replaced to give the hotel a cleaner and more modern appearance. The room itself clearly showed signs of aging: for example, the window was difficult to open. The bathroom, which was noticeably smaller compared to other hotels in the area within the same price range, also had its flaws—most notably, an extremely noisy ventilation system that could be heard even from outside the room. The towels were clean and of average quality. On a positive note, the room had a small area equipped for in-room breakfast, a convenience we hadn’t found in similar hotels. However, the beds left something to be desired: the mattresses were quite old and sagged noticeably, although the bed linens were immaculate—white, clean, and pleasantly scented. The hotel also features a private pool with a hot tub, which my travel companions used and enjoyed, and a small but functional gym equipped with a treadmill, a stationary bike, and some free weights. Overall, it was a positive experience, although not an outstanding one. The major drawback of the property was the breakfast service, which was extremely basic, offering mostly industrial products and very little fresh food. I personally only had two yogurts and an apple. Therefore, the breakfast offering definitely needs to be reconsidered.

(Probably 3.5) If you have visited the Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park, you may recognize the rust-hued beams of the 49'er Inn. I assume that was the inspiration for the architecture of this hotel, as otherwise it may just look rusty! PROS: Rooms were reasonably priced when we were there (early May), and they offered a full breakfast. The Inn is within easy walking distance of many amenities in downtown Jackson. The staff was friendly and accomodating - they were willing to do an early check-in for us, which meant we didn't have to haul our luggage with us as we toured the park for the day. We were also able to park right next to our room. Something somewhat unique for us (we stayed in the "main building") - the building was a combination hotel/motel, as there was an outside door next to the parking lot, while also providing an inside door leading to the hallway we could take to go down to breakfast. CONS: It appeared the hotel tried to cut corners on many little things. For instance, the eggs were not tasty. The bacon was almost unrecognizable as such. The coffee was a brand I've never heard of, and weak. The coffee creamer was generic. Also, the room was in need of a redo, even taking into account the inn was trying for "vintage" in much of the decor. For as majestic as the exterior and the foyer appeared, I expected more. Still, it was a room which was clean and adequate in a beautiful town.

We had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. I will stick to facts because our stay was so bad that it actually makes me a little emotional, especially considering we paid $450 for a 1 night stay. It was dirty, small, lamp didn't work, fireplace didn't work, spit and toothpaste all over sink and mirror, wallpaper peeling off, sofa discusting, the furniture in the room was so beat-up and our door lock was broken -we had to use a chair and stack suitcases on it because no one was at the desk to help us (can't believe we didn't realize this and left our stuff in the room :( ). We arrived much later than we anticipated and had to run out the door to make a dinner reservation, we had not realized this until almost 11pm so I tried to be understanding of no one at the front desk. So we didnt sleep well that night. However, the next day, the manager said there was nothing that could be done due to booking through a 3rd party (I booked through AAA)- I feel like this is an easy out for them, she didn't even apologize, she said "wow that sounds frustrating". Additonal: They are about 2 blocks from down town, the set up is weird some new, some old like they added buildings...I had high hopes, lobby beautiful- customer service was poor, room terrible.

This is a location floundering and stepping on itself in many aspects. Stay was August 4 & 5 2024||Issue #1: see pictures 1&2 below. Yes that is a household extension cord tied to a door to hold it open. The plug end (HOT) WAS in the socket. The receiver end was sitting exposed on the hose reel! Being a retired facilities guy I saw this life safety issue and reported it to hotel management expecting it would Immediately resolved. Still there next morning... Went up to the Tetons for the day and came back late afternoon. Still in place. I address a housekeeper on the issue..."I'm just a housekeeper". Told him never mind... I'd have a fire Marshall come take a look. An hour later... It's gone.||Issue #2: We walked into the room on arrival and there was a strong odor of fragrant chemical. Again, facilities professional... "thought it" was Fabuloso. Second thought was "what are they covering up?" Carpet looked a bit dirty. We left for a bit and on way out walking past a different AC unit wife stated she smelled something like mildew.... this is outdoors! We returned after dinner and furthered out investigation. I started wiping surfaces... dust most everywhere. Wife pulled serviceable filters from AC units... caked in dust. These pictures are below. I go to front desk to discuss electrical cord and what we found. No offer of another room or frankly... to address anything. Not sure we would find another room for two days we cleaned and tolerated the Fabuloso. Oh, they did show me an UNLABELED bottle of a purple liquid that did look and smell like Fabuloso. :-)||Issue #3: We paid $385 a night for this disaster? They also hit my Credit Card for one night before I EVEN arrived! Wanted to use a different card but they did not leave that option. They aren't AirBnB which is the only place I've seen that practice.||Yeah, call me crazy. Clearly management and staff mishandled these discussions/resolutions. Was afraid they would refuse to credit what they had already billed if I left...so stupidly stuck it out.||My ADVICE.... stay away from this place. The value is not there. Will say the breakfast was OK. A copy of this review has gone directly to management. Will share their response if it is offered... and they do not weigh in here.|||Issue #1: see pictures 1&2 below. Summary Version: Take pictures of the room when you arrive, I was charged $50 for damage that I did not cause and no notification of charge/information has been provided to me This place is obviously mismanaged Room was dated and not maintained Room was not very clean - stained bedsheets, etc. No maid service for 7 night stay due to not enough staff - had to go to lobby to replenish supplies Shuttle bus to/from Jackson Hole Report extremely crowded, college kids discussing inappropriate things in front of children, did not run very frequently Low end breakfast Buildings aren't connected - cold getting to room from pool Unfriendly staff

Detailed Version: Make sure you are diligent with taking pictures of your room when you arrive here. There are some questionable practices at play here. When I got home from my trip, I saw there was a $50 charge on my credit card placed by the 49er that I did not recognize. This prompted me to call and they informed me the charge was for damage to a table in the room. We were very gentle with the room. There is no way we caused any damage. They didn't bother to notify me that they would be charging my card and when I asked for documentation they just told me to call back another time. I disputed the charge and 49er sent a picture of a damaged table to the cc issuer to challenge my dispute. The picture looked like a dog chewed it or it fell off of the back of the truck (we did not have a dog in the room with us). It would have taken a lot of force to cause that damage. I wonder how many people they have tried to charge for this damaged piece of furniture, which I don't believe was even in the room I stayed in. Normally I take pictures when staying somewhere in case of incidents like this, but the room was so run down I didn't even bother. Who even charges a $50 damage fee anyways? Wouldn't there be a threshold. It doesn't seem worth the trouble. The hotel manager obviously lacks common (business) sense.

The 49er Inn & Suites claims "A fresh and modern hotel experience" and "Completely remodeled" on the website. This far from what I experienced/observed.

The room we stayed in was dated and not maintained. The shower control handle kept falling off, the shower head sprayed in all different directions, and the door security lock was broken, to name a few. The extra sheet set left for the pullout couch had staining on it that looked like vomit, which was well visible without even unfolding the sheets. There was hair in the bathroom and the sheets didn't smell very fresh. The room did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned/turned over. The rugs were in rough shape. We wouldn't even walk on them without our shoes on. All of these things should be highly noticeable to the staff during turnover, if they cared. We were informed upon check in that there would be no maid service for our stay, 7 nights, because they were understaffed. We had to go down to the lobby to replenish things like soap and shampoo. The 49er staff we encountered also weren't friendly. I'm sensing a theme here - the place is mismanaged.

The buildings aren't all connected so it was a cold walk back to our room from the pool. The eggs were a let down, very runny, almost like they were powerdered eggs. The shuttle bus to Jackson Hole Resort was often extremely crowded and filled with college kids who were talking about inappropriate things and using foul language in front of my young kids. People were packed in the seats and aisles. It was very uncomfortable. We had to adjust our ski schedule and take earlier shuttles to avoid the crowds. Also, the shuttle only ran 3 times in the morning to Jackson Hole Resort, and 3 times in the afternoon from JHR, 1.5 hours in between. Otherwise, you can take public transportation, if you don't mind lugging your ski gear to the nearest bus stop. A lot of people had dogs, which we didn't particularly mind. Just something to be aware of if you are not...

Stayed at the 49’er Inn in August. We wanted two rooms but were told they had one single and one suite. My husband and I took the suite. Initially all looked fine. We put our baggage into the room and walked downtown. We returned to our room around 8:30 pm. I was preparing for a relaxing evening and a shower. I was in the shower facing the spigot and turned to reach the shampoo and I was shocked. There was long black hair ( about 10”) stuck to the side of the tub. I then turned to the wall and there were THREE groupings of hair in the shower wall. I got out of the shower immediately and called the front desk. My response from the front desk was “ no one here from housekeeping” and only two at the front desk. I said what will I do without a shower and suggested to contact management which I was told went home. Suggested maybe would move to another room. About 30 minutes later we had a knock and two women from housekeeping appeared. My husband showed them the problem and one women took a towel and wiped one grouping. She then went and took a picture. They cleaned the areas and left. In the morning at checkout time I went to the desk and asked to see the manager. The attendant who was very nice asked what I wanted to see the manager about. I told her the problem, she went through the door to the office area of the manager, spend a minute and came out and said they would compensate me with I believe 20%. At that time a women appeared at the counter looking for something and conversing with another attendant. I asked her if she was the manager? Her reply was yes. I proceeded to ask why she didn’t have the courtesy to speak to me and thought this was very unprofessional. She just looked at me and returned to the room she came from. I can’t imagine a business that deals with the comfort of people would be so nonchalant and not at least offer an apology. P.S. I also took pictures if you would like to confirm this situation. Thank you for reading this, as I am...
