I stayed at this motel on Friday, July 25th, hoping for an affordable and convenient option near a resort I had just checked out of. The photos online made the place seem updated, clean, and reasonably priced and none of which reflected reality once we arrived. Check-in started out fine. The woman at the front desk (who I suspect lives onsite with her husband) was initially friendly. However, the rate and policy I was quoted over the phone changed after when my boyfriend went inside suddenly, the “two-night minimum” and price she gave me went out the window. We paid $125 cash for one night in Room 8, with no deposit required. The room itself looked nothing like the pictures online. It was outdated, smelled musty, and had a wooden door with a big glass cut out with no curtain, meaning anyone walking by could see inside. The bathroom was tiny and the front door didn’t even fully fit its frame you could tell bugs, flies, and ants can easily come in and out. Still, we figured we could deal with it for one night and tried to make the most of it. After spending the day at the nearby resort (we were gone from about 2:30 PM to after 8 PM), we returned to the motel and decided to finally inspect the bed. That’s when things took a turn. We found bugs and multiple spiders behind the bed, and clear signs of bed bugs on the mattress and box spring (I have photos and video proof). The bed was uncomfortable and the presence of bugs made it completely worse for me so I immediately told my boyfriend I wanted to leave. When we voiced our concerns to the front desk, the woman became immediately defensive and rude. She accused us of staying there all day and only complaining at night(which wasn’t true) told us to shut up and not to talk to her. Her solution was Lysol and a cloth and for us to go and show her like that would fix a potential infestation. Only after showing her our proof did she in a hurry hand over $40 and tell us to leave and to never book there again. Don’t worry, we won’t. Bottom line spiders and bugs in the bed aren’t just gross they’re a straight up health risk. Read moreIf I could give zero starts I would!! We got in last night 9/1 for a family get away about 8 adults and 10kids for labor day weekend. After the long drive there all I wanted to do was take a shower when I walk into the room and turn it on I realize there was NO shower head! I decided to run a bath and when I did the water looked grey and I was disgusted. Finally after I decided to go to bed and when I flipped the cover I noticed something and it was a BED BUG! As I continued to search the bed there were more at this point I'm irritated because not only is all this going on we have to find some place else to stay due to the bed bugs of course and the kids and also being pregnant I was not risking bringing that home. On top of that we went to the office to let them know and no one was there we also called and no answer. So we just left and stayed at the holiday inn express. Also to top every thing off the "heated" pool is only heated when the sun is on it for a certain period of time and there is no wifi. I'm about to call now and let the owner or front desk worker know what is going on in their facility. Hopefully they let the current people staying there get a refund so they can fumigate the place. After her second night there she was in bed texting me and suddenly started blowing up my phone with pictures of parts of her body that were red and she complained of itching about, I advised her to speak with Anne and see what she can do as it might be bed bugs. After informing Anne, she visited the room and said she didn't see any bugs and that the room has no bugs... even after showing her the red marks all over the body. Anyways Anne proceeded to tell my girlfriend in a very rude tone that she needs to leave the housing by 16/05/2019 NB this was 15/05/2019 at around 10pm yes PM and instead of providing a next room or providing new sheets or something Anne insisted that she should leave by the next day.
