While celebrating my cousins birthday we decided to have dinner at The DEL BAR..We called and made a reservation for 30mins later. Walking in we didn't see much(if any) diversity 🙄, so at this point we weren't expecting anything aside from hopefully good food. The restaurant was nice and full. We were seated by the window that had the perfect view of their beautiful Pond oasis. . The table was clean and ready. We were then greeted by a gentleman of the name CHRIS!!! Chris brought out a variety of crackers (very different but we tried them) Chris was pleasant and very prepared for curious customers, he had notes so that he could answer all of our questions(this was helpful). We started off with water and wine, he then brought out the bread, which was delicious. Chris was very knowledgeable and his suggestion of oysters definitely gave us something to remember: We had BLUE POINTS, kumamotos, and baked Rockefeller OYSTERS all were good-- OUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE WAS THE BLUE POINTS - Chris did not lead us astray, we will request blue points WHEREVER we go!! Lol After finishing our oysters - we ordered our meal we had the CHAR GRILLED SCOTTISH SALMON, with an added side of mixed veggies- THE SALMON was OUTSTANDING the rice pilaf was unique- we did not enjoy the cranberry raisins in the rice, however 'A' for effort and a unique recipe. The WATER WAS SO DELICIOUS I DIDNT WANT TO ASK IF IT WAS TAP!! (I do not drink tap water) because the water was so refreshing I had to ask, and they also purify their water!! The taste of the water definitely stands out in a positive way from the rest, and now we know why!! QUALITY is ALWAYS better and more SUPERIOR. it is clear there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes at the DEL BAR, and it is clear that they are choosing ideal waitstaff, ideal chefs, ideal ingredients and conditions to provide such an amazing and unique dining experience. Now dessert, we were celebrating a birthday remember!! They brought out a cute chocolate mousse for the birthday queen, , we also ordered the creme brulee, and I think an improvement would be more fresh fruit berries on top, I wanted fruit with every bite. Back to our waiter Chris, he did not rush us, he did not visit the table TOO many times and he made sure my glass of delicious water was never empty. I know I'm simply a customer but my first experience at the DEL BAR was a memorable one. i was there about 3 weeks ago, and today I remember it like it was yesterday. Chris has a lot of untapped skills and I'd like to see how many more customers his leadership can bring through your doors- he should definitely be promoted, given a pay raise, and he should be involved with training and on boarding other waitstaff, you all will have a DREAM team!! Great experience! great food!
Kudos to the DEL BAR 🍸!!

Read moreThis restaurant has been a staple in my family history of vacationing to the Dells for 30 years. This past weekend, my family and I met in the dells for my fathers 60th birthday, a celebration we couldn't wait for! My mother made a reservation for 16 people to sit together and when we arrive, there were 2 separate tables set up for us. We immediately ask for a manager and the owner came by and explained to us that their policy for one table is 13 or 14 max and any more would be too tight. She also said, according to the reservation, we were asked if 2 tables were ok and it stated yes. My mother was never once told about there being 2 tables, because if that was the case, we wouldn't have even come.
However, we digress, and enjoy the night. Everything was fine until we saw a table of 18 people get seated right by us! Once again we ask for management. This time around she didn't come by for about 15 minutes and the servers kept telling us "Oh we are trying to find her". She comes by and says "That party booked earlier than your party". That statement is invalid because we were told the policy is 14 people max! We made sure to express our frustration of being lied to and then the owner backpedaled to saying "you said 2 tables were fine" which never even happened as well as I previously stated. Then the owner proceeds to tell us that they had a smaller party and 4 more just walked in and they couldn't do anything about it. Really?? because once again the policy is supposed to be 14 max right? So for these people your policies go out the window? I call B.S. So we got lied to 3 separate times and the owner kept insinuating that all of this was our fault.
As soon as we called her out and exposed her, the unprofessionalism that came from the owner was absolutely eye opening. My family and I have been running a business for almost 30 years, so we know all about professionalism and fairness. Instead of being a standup person and owning her wrongs, she proceeded to get nasty with us like a classless slob and eventually told us to leave the restaurant. She had nowhere to go after all that backpedaling and thats when she showed her true ugly colors. The more we called her out the uglier she got. She even got so petty that she had a colleague of hers stand over our shoulder when we were paying the bill. We don't need to stiff anyone, we pay our bills like everyone else. Not to mention, she was so flustered, they gave us the wrong bill at first, lol. She couldn't get us out of there fast enough after the way we exposed her.
This place will never see another dime from us. It was run way better before these people took over. STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS. I would give 0 stars if I could.
Not to mention they added more seating in the same area as the waiting room. Talk about trying to squeeze every dime you can out of the restaurant while people have to sacrifice a wonderful dining experience at the same...
Read moreAfter what I experienced today via phone - I will never give this place another dime. Have been going here for years as a local - close to 30 years to be exact. Bought a $100 Gift Card that was to be delivered at 9AM for a fathers day gift via text online on June 14. 9AM came and went on 06/16/24. So I had to drive to my parents, to find out my father thought we completely forgot about him because NO TEXT WAS SENT. After combing through his phone, checking to see if it was blocked ETC - time to call The Del-Bar to make it right. First, any of the information on the digital receipt could NOT be used to look anything up. They wanted the last 4 digits of the card only. Couldn't use the purchase #, Proof nothing. The online receipts are virtually WORTHLESS.
Second, at NO POINT was I offered and OUNCE of sympathy OR even "I AM SO SORRY!" for ruining this gift I had gotten for my father AND making him think his family completely forgot about him. I was first blamed that I gave the "incorrect phone #". We verified it, it was 10000% correct. Then, I was "blamed" because the "third party" they use for gift cards they have no "control" over. Excuse me? YOU pay and utilize Toast's services. YOU are in a contract with them AND you represent them. So again, I stated - I've been on this call for 5 minutes, and all you've done is tell me why the restaurant is not at fault, blamed me (twice) for "incorrect information OR choices THAT WERE OFFERED BY YOUR ESTABLISHMENT" and then made me ASK for an apology, to where you snottily gave it. At the end, it was said "Next time, use email" - which I promptly let them know, there will not be a next time - since their establishment OFFERED the service of texting the gift card to a phone, and that if they are going to offer it and not back it up, and then blame ME when I call to find out WHY it didn't come through. Never in my life have I been through an ordeal like this - and thank you, thank you for letting my father think his family forgot about him on Father's Day.
CHERRY ON TOP FOR THIS ESTABLISHMENT AND THEIR...
