February 2021: my wife and I are celebrating our honeymoon in Maui and Oahu. While in Maui, we booked a private honeymoon hike with Maui Pacific Tours.
We were picked up on time by our guide, Edward. He picked us up in luxury, a BMW SUV, catered with cold refreshments and snacks.
Our tour was customizable and we started the day with a hike through a breathtaking Bamboo forest that led to crossing a and taking photos in the middle of a freshwater river. Then, our tour guide Edward took us to and led us through a rainforest hike with a picture perfect waterfall. (We wore Nike exercise/running sneakers for the hike, but best to wear hiking boots...also, buy water shoes for the waterfall.) Afterwards, Edward took us to some great spots for photos on Hana Highway. Finally, we finished the day off with Flatbread Company pizza located in Paia. (lunch included.)
If you plan a trip to Maui, booking a trip with Maui Pacific Tours is an absolute must and ask for Edward as your guide! Edward was thoughtful, patient, giving of his time and knowledge and extremely...
Read moreThis was a fine experience but not what we were looking for or expected. We chose the Swim with Turtles tour because my wife loves turtles. I called and spoke with someone twice on the phone before booking and explained what we were looking for. They steered us to this tour rather than the snorkel tour (where we may have actually swam with turtles). We paddled around and saw some turtles but were never instructed to leave the boat to swim with them. I know we are not to get close to them, but an underwater view is what we were looking for. The person I spoke with even told me about an underwater phone case I could purchase, which I did. My kids had not canoed before, so that was good. We also saw turtles close, but we did that for free from 3 other beaches in Maui. In summary, this experience was not what we expected and, for that reason, not worth the...
Read moreThis was our last activity after a week in Maui. It was a lot of fun and an easy, low key end to the week. We ended up being the only people booked for the 11:00 swim with turtles outrigger canoe trip leaving from the Andaz beach. It was great to walk out of the hotel right to the spot. It was really nice just being us, we paddled straight to the spot (yes, you help paddle but it was easy, even with just 3 of us total) and it was probably 10 min out and back. Got about 40 min of snorkel time, saw lots of turtles, explored the reef, saw a school of fish. The guide stayed in the boat, took pictures that he gave to us later, and pointed things out for us to swim to. It was great! I really appreciated all of the pictures and the general closeness to the water of the outrigger. Just a different experience compared to the...
