Bumbye Beach Bar — Restaurant in Maui

Excellently balanced oceanside cocktails with a lovely food menu to supplement. Fresh ingredients, hand made syrups, and quality liquor, along with skilled bartenders. Appreciated their drier take on an old school mai tai, not syrupy at all.

For non-hotel guests: come at a quieter time (like late afternoon on a Tuesday). Don't make the staff choose between hotel guests and visitors, respect that they have an obligation here. Park at ulua, walk along the path, then either sit at the bar and chat up the staff, or do take out so you can enjoy the sunset at the beach...

When we were at the lower pool, Caroline was a nice server. Friendly, efficient, helpful.

When we closed out and moved to a table up by the bar, no one came to be a waiter/waitress. Caroline happened to be there, so asked if she could wait on us, & she did.

Nice view from the top tier. Ordered the "legendary" $21 lobster grilled cheese sandwich. It was very good, but did not live up to the hype. Sizeable, but the bread to contents ratio was off. Too much bread, smothered the flavor. Waffle fries good too.

We were staying at the Wailea Elua next door and I popped over to the Andaz for a bite to eat and some drinks. The bartender Holly was awesome and very friendly. She went over the menu and highlighted some of the most popular items. The Bloody Mary Holly made was one of the best I’ve had. I ordered a burger to go and it came in a to-go bag with utensils, napkins and condiments. Everything about my order was correct, so I will make another stop here the next time...
