I booked this hotel due the location and reviews. I got scared when I arrived and noticed that the check in actually was in the hotel beside which probably belongs to the same owner. After proceding with check in we dragged our luggage through the bar that separtes both buildings and then passing over the gellatto shop we finally reached an elevator in a dirty corner. Honeslty, I could not believe what my eyes were seeing. Room was ok, not modern neither super clean as shown in the pictures. Bed was comfortable and very well made. |Biggest issue is that the hotel is beside ESPN bar/hotel and they host MASSIVE parties on the weekend, the hotel has double glass windows but we could only sleep after 6am! after the first night awake we went downstairs for the amazing included breakfast - another shock! all very dirty, old and looking disgusting. we basically ran to the CVS 2 blocks behind and got some bread and mik - basically had breakfast in the room during all our stay. in booking.com they show a picture of a room for breakfast with all food looking nice and clean but, the real area for breakfast is in the bar they have downstairs with plastic cups/cutllery and food from the second world war. The fruit Loops dispensar had more hair on top that a WC floor. location wise was amazing since literally in front of the beach - pool was very small but decent, very refreshing after the beach. again, I would never stay in this hotel again due the noise, lack of maintenance and cleanning and the...
Read moreThis review is for Edison Restaurant. This place is a ripoff!!! Please make yourself a favor and avoid this place! If I would’ve known the practice they have I would’ve stayed away!!! Be very aware about the prices of drinks you will receive, especially if they are different from what you’ve ordered! We ordered 2 regular drinks and 2 hookahs and we ended up paying $281! $281 for 2 drinks and 2 hookahs! My friend (who is a foreigner and she is not familiar with the prices here) felt the need to match my gesture from earlier that day and payed while I was at the restroom! I found out only next day about the cost of those drinks that the waitress brought us, totally different from what we’ve ordered, huge glasses filled with ice and juice and a pinch of alcohol, without warning us about the price difference! While the neighbor terraces are inviting you to drink the same drinks “2 for price of 1”, we found out later at EDISON the price it’s 40$ each drink! The tip was $50 INCLUDED! The receipt had only the total, without any itemization on it!... We stopped next day to talk with the management about the practice their waiters are having, the assistant manager MANI said “you should’ve paid attention to the prices last evening, I can’t help you today!! 0 customer service skills! They are set in ripping off their customers and they treat these poor customers accordingly!!! NEVER in my life will I go...
Read moreStayed one night prior to a cruise. Love the location and couldn't beat the price. Only paid $120. Which is unheard of on Ocean. There was a resort fee of $25 a night. The WiFi is included, plus they have bikes you can use. Yes it is the sister property of the Breakwater but who cares. The bar area was lively with live band and good music. ||The bell hop will take your bags over to the Edison, just tip them. The guy was very accommodating. He took both my bags for me. Yes, it is noisy at night, hey it's South Beach not a Senior community. If you want quiet stay elsewhere. The room was very nice and spacious enough for one or two people. I had room 331, which gives you a distant ocean view over some trees. That room faces the famous clock.||The staff was nice, only had check in interaction with them. If you close all the windows it keeps most of the sound out. It will seem more distant. I never made it to breakfast so can't comment. Overall, great experience. Also room has mini...
