June 18-20, 2025
We took our kids (adult, 18+) down for a couple of days as a graduation present.
This hotel is being vastly misadvertised. They claim ocean views (only 12 of 60+ rooms) have an ocean view. There is beach access... once you walk past their pool, down a sketchy alley that is. The pool area is a hazard as well and less than maintained or cleaned regularly. The walkway crossing over the dune to get to the beach is a true hazard and in serious need of repair.
When we checked in, we were given a room on the 4th floor, even after advising them, we have a handicapped person. Went to use the lift (elevator), and waited 20+ minutes for it never to come in a steamy open air corridor.
Parking was atrocious, with only one handicapped space available, and all of the regular spaces were so closely packed that even small cars and sedans have trouble squeezing in to park and opening their doors.
Room 408 was our first attempt. Upon going in the room, an attempt to use the restroom to urinate was met by 2 cockroaches and a toilet that didn't flush.
The staff was kind enough to switch us to a different room (209), but they completely ignored the request for more towels and supplies to accommodate our entire registered family. Overall, the staff were indifferent to the quality of service.
In both cases, there was an issue to the door to each room. One door didn't open and shut properly (had to shoulder it open), while both had visible gaps in them when closed. This let the little air conditioning we had out and the roaches to come in.
Over 2 nights, the smallest roach we saw was thumb sized in both width and length. At least 7 roaches were seen.
On the subject of the restrooms, all the plumbing needs updating, and the size of the restroom is barely the size of a broom closet. Very uncomfortable when trying to use the restroom, shower, or change.
One ice machine was on site to service the whole building but was broken.
The complementary breakfast offered was nominal at best. It should have been advertised as a continental breakfast. Old bread and cereal dispensers with a waffle maker were the fare of the day. On the plus side, the juice was decent.... the coffee... not so much.
The best I can say about this hotel is that it is right on the beach, a couple hundred feet from the water.
Wyndham properties have a certain standard. This property was nowhere close to even getting close to the quality of a run down Super 8.
If we could give this place zero stars, we would. We will never use this hotel again, even to the point of staying away from all Wyndham properties.
Book at your own risk. One last note, there is an additional fee per night for said beach access not included in the room price when you check in that adds to the nightly rate per room. Unnecessarily deceptive, just as the rest of the hotel...
Read moreSo we booked this hotel on a spur of the moment "lets go to the beach for the weekend" trip. I didn't read the reviews before my husband booked it and I probably wouldn't have if I had. I liked that we were mere seconds (walk out the gate and wahlah) from the beach. The pool was clean and cool. Our room was big, which was nice for two young kids and an infant. The elevator was broken which was a huge pain carrying everything up to the top floor with said three kids and baby necessities and the stairwells were tight and dark. The "air" of the walkways and hotel did have a bit of a weed smell but it could have just been who was there that weekend. The toilet in our room ran continuously and rocked back and forth and then quit flushing all together but they came and fixed the non-flushing quickly. The table in the room was not bolted down to the table itself which was a hazard to my kids but they also fixed this promptly. The staff themselves were friendly and we re nice! Breakfast was also great as the kids liked the waffles, yogurt, raisin bread, and juice selection. We were also able to bring it back to our room so no issue there. The room was cleaned well and beds were made while we were out and were clean. The beds were not so comfortable and my husband and I both continue to struggle with a back ache from the beds but they just need updated as much of the hotel I think does. You can tell this is an tired hotel and is in need of some more up to date upgrades. Parking is tricky and I feel that there isn't enough parking for all residents at the hotel so once we found a good parking spot we literally didn't leave.
Overall it was an okay stay with it's ups and downs. We didn't see any bugs during our trip and the air could have worked a little better as I feel like it was about 76 in the room instead of the 66 it was set on. The air conditioner just couldn't cool down the room, which made sleeping a little more uncomfortable than if it was just the mattress that was worn down.
Not the hotel's fault: The Shriner parade that lasted from 9:00 a.m. till 12:10 p.m. and we couldn't leave. It wouldn't have been so bad if my kid wasn't sick and he needed medicine. If he wasn't sick we would have just went to the beach or pool. If we had been one parking lot to our right we would have been able to get out as they would let people out little by little but because we were where we were they wouldn't do that for us.
Also not the hotel's fault: The party that was outside our door and room next door till 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning that kept me awake most the night but thankfully didn't disturb my kids or it would not have been pretty. We made sure to make as much noises as possible though once my kids got up at 7:00 a.m. so they might get a dose of their...
Read moreI rented out 4 rooms for 4 days as we where on a family vacation/good bye vacation since my brother in law is being deployed. 1 out of 4 of the rooms was decent. Everything was out dated and broken. Windows broken, mold everywhere, hair in the fridge. The bathrooms look like they hadn’t been scrubbed down in a long time. First night my sister in laws room had to be moved out of her beach front room to a side view because there was mold and hair all over her fridge. Second night my room had the fire alarm go out and I called front desk, manager answered me and said she would have someone go look at it but if we could unplug it?!!! We did end up unplugging since we had 3 little ones, I called back and informed her that we where heading out to the pool since it had been more than 20 min since the initial call. And we didn’t want anyone going in the room with out one of us being there. I clearly stated that the do not disturb sign would be up and that clearly that means no one is allowed in. I set the fire alarm on the window sill where they could access it. What they decided to do instead was throw the do not disturb sign on the floor and walk them selves in. I called and said why no one let us know they where going to be accessing the room hence the fact we where one floor down(pool) and they said management authorized them. Mind you I had already spoken with manager to let us know before anyone entered!!! Let’s top it off with on our third night it stormed really bad that my in-laws room got flooded and all due to housekeeping not shutting the door right bed was socked, floor, tv stand. And there was nothing they could due because it was sold out!!! Who ever gave this manager position to Amanda should really rethink it. She has the worst attitude that you can imagine for the position she holds. Like I said this was supposed to be a last hoorah for awhile for all of the family to be together. Dealing with he unprofessional self and the room problems was not what we where expecting. The only other good thing was the night girl she is the one that help with recommendations and apologized for everything we had to put up. It was her fault but she tried her best. I believe her name was Jodi, sorry if that is wrong but thank you for...
