Plantation House of Pancakes — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

To add to a previous post, someone definitely did cough in my friend’s face while she was sitting in the waiting area. To the point that I reacted. Fortunately for me, I had the waffle and not the pancakes. The waffle was good but it would have been nice to have actual butter and not whipped topping. We were told that they were out so we went without. Our server was friendly and added a candle to my waffle and sang happy birthday as we went on Tuesday, August 10th, which was my actual birthday.

The fact that your response to my friend’s post was unapologetic is disgusting. As the owner or person in charge, you should be open to accepting the fact that your actions were witnessed by everyone in our party. In your deflection of your actions, you insulted my friend by implying that your establishment was not within his budget. Know this, we’ve eaten at multiple other restaurants during our stay and yours was the cheapest meal that we had. Please don’t try to make your nasty behavior (coughing in my friend’s face) about ether we can afford a meal. Note that I just spent $130 on my own at Wicked Tuna. Take the lumps with grace. And instead of deflecting about what you think we can afford, focus on fixing the issue with your pancakes , which you are obviously aware of based on the other reviews and the fact that it was the only thing in his review that was not disputed by you. We came in to eat this morning with a larger party of 10 with majority being very small children and the woman told us 30 to 45 minutes to wait. I said ok and we waited outside for about 35 min until I went back inside to check on how much longer. When I walked back in I was told we cannot be seated because they only seat up to 8. I was confused because I was told differently prior. I told the person at the front that we had very small children and they said okay but we would have to wait another 45 min. I was confused because I had perfect view of the wait list and everyone that was on it before and after us had all been crossed off and they were getting ready to seat a party of 4 as they walked in after me seeing there was no longer a wait. When I asked if the smaller parties were pushing us back on the list, the man told me we needed to wait until the restaurant clears up. I never was told that we have to wait until it’s not busy to be sat with a large party before. We always waited until our turn and then were sat. The owner of this establishment is an absolute jerk. Rude, dismissive, unfriendly, pure trash!

The owner would not allow the hostess to sit our party b/c (2) were next door at the candy shop.

The food is poor quality. Absolutely terrible!! The omelette was slimy, pancakes were dry, and grits were bland.

My husband and I ordered the same meal with different sides so we could share. I ate half of the pancake he shared with me and a small bite of my omelet & grits. Too terrible to even try to eat. I regret not taking pictures of the food because this explanation does not do the justice I need it to! TERRIBLE!

The table next to us had an issue with shells in their eggs. The owner came to the table and put his hands in the eggs to feel for shells!!! And after mushing his hands in the eggs told the party ‘there’s no shells in these eggs’.
