I have spent thousands of dollars here over the last 20 year's. Today I was only able to purchase cheese due to forgetting my cash at home. I returned an hour later to pick up the rest of my items and was immediately greeted by the same cashier who checked me out earlier. She left her register to approach me. I told her I did not need help but thank you. I then spotted her crouching down to peek at me while I was loading my turmeric into my basket. It was plainly obvious she thought I had returned to steal. I proceeded to her checkout and placed my items on the conveyor and she rang me up. She asked if I had an MVP card, which I do, but to make a point that I don't need a discount let alone steal I told her I did not. The gentleman behind me said to her that I could use his unless she wanted to scan hers. Past experiences have proved clerks do this all the time when someone says the don't have one. She did not say a word but thrusted her scanner towards the guy to scan his card. I thanked him and asked her if there was a difference in cost. She looked away and said nothing. I then handed her a 20 and received my change. I politely thanked her and again was met with no response. I'm curious as to why the same great customer service she provided while profiling me was not then applied. This experience was embarrassing and very unprofessional. Sadly after 20 years shopping here I will now never return. This was an arrogant young black female with dreads who looked to be some...
Read moreI had the displeasure of shopping at the Food Lion at 13th Avenue South and Kings Hwy in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this morning. I had no trouble finding the items on my shopping list. The problem occurred when I had to wait in line with five people in front of me while only one cashier was available to check out people. After waiting 10 minutes, after the manager finished chatting with another employee, she decided to come to another register and help the only cashier. I was the next person in line when the manager said that she would help the next person in line. I informed her that I had been waiting a long time and now I am the next person in line here with my groceries already on the belt, ready to be checked out, and NO, I was not going to move them to her register. I was thoroughly disgusted with the customer service at this Food Lion location and remembered why I stopped shopping there. I am going to start going to the Food Lion on 38th Avenue North from now on, where the people are friendlier, more attentive, and care about...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would! Glenda on register 4 today took it upon herself to decline her services to 4 African Americans who came to her line while the light was on! Stating she needed to continue her duties at the customer service line. Continued to assist the Caucasian customers in her line in front of my husband (African American) and I. Whom she hasn’t even began ringing up yet. Upon entering another line, 2 other African Americans stated she dismissed them from her line also. We all look back to register 4, Glenda never left her register and continued assisting new people in her line who were not African American. If she needed to go back to customer service, why even assist anyone after my husband and I? She wouldn’t even assist my husband and I or the other couple!!! But everyone else was welcomed with a smile in her line!?! Spoke with Rick the manager and informed him. He said he would have a conversation with her and view the footage. He didn’t seem to think it was racial but I beg to differ. I will be calling...
