I wish I could rate ZERO STARS!!!
There are a lot of things so I’ll just make a list. But first of all we paid $1440 for our stay. We were expecting a resort style stay. It is NOTHING like the pictures posted, NOT EVEN CLOSE!
• Our room was in the driftwood part of the Sea Mist Resort. The ENTIRE building smelled like marijuana and mildew, and was very unclean!
• Our room had sand and dirt on the floors.
• One bed had a blanket and sheet while the other bed had only a sheet. When I called housekeeping to ask for a blanket I was told that they didn’t have anymore.
• Our room was supposed to have a kitchenette but it literally consisted of a coffee maker that didn’t work, a single tablespoon, a single wooden spatula, and a single cup.
• We also only had 3 towels and 3 washcloths to last us an entire week. When we called room service for more towels they simply ignored our requests every single time, and they NEVER brought us any!
• ALL trash cans throughout Driftwood, indoor/outdoor and all parking decks were over flowing with trash. Literally piling up next to the trash cans as well. They stayed this way for the ENTIRE week stay and were never emptied.
• On our floor, level 11 there was trash and wet towels and washcloths piled half way up the walls next to each room where there had been absolutely no room service whatsoever. (Pics attached)
• During our entire week stay we seen maybe 3 people who worked for the Sea Mist, one was sitting in a sea mist truck on his cell phone. A maintenance guy retrieving a cell phone from the elevator and at the end of our week stay the housekeeping lady that clearly and obviously wasn’t doing her job.
• My sister accidentally left her laptop behind in our room, when she called to find out if housekeeping found her laptop she was given the worst run around. They kept sending her from housekeeping to the front desk and back. They down right refused to go check our room due to new guests being in there. My sister finally had to contact the police department. Once she did this someone from sea mist called her back saying they would check housekeeping. But even after contacting the police they were still giving her e run around and not checking for her so she is literally in her car and driving back down to the Sea Mist to try and locate her laptop herself. She was able to ping its location and could clearly see that it was there. They are just refusing to help her locate it. This is still on going as she is literally on her way to the hotel right now. I can post an update later. But apparently they could care less about people’s property being left behind either.
It was the absolute WORST vacation stay we’ve ever had. I cannot believe we paid $1440 for such an awful experience. They clearly do not care about their customers or keeping their “resort” up to par. They’re simply raking in the money and pocketing it. I will never stay at the sea mist again and I will warn anyone I can to spend their money elsewhere!!!
PLEASE YALL, BEWARE! Spend your money somewhere that is actually nice and decent to their customers! Don’t waste your...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE, DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I am a local pizza delivery driver (a legit one, not one of the fake pizza flyer guys) I just received a level of disrespect from one of the staff members that is unmatched in over 3 years of service as a delivery employee. For the past 3 years, I have been able to come and go freely to the rooms in the buildings at this resort, with the exception that after 9-11 pm (I don’t remember the exact time) security locks down the building for protection of the guests. This is a security issue, I totally understand that. However, I was stopped by the two employees at the lobby desk in the Driftwood/Tides building and told I had to call my customer down to the lobby. I stated “I thought that was after 10 or 11 that I had to do that” as, for THREE YEARS this was my experience. The woman at the desk replies “you are not allowed on the floors whatsoever, and if we catch you on the cameras up there we will call the police and trespass you” now listen, I can totally understand if there is a change in policy and I am no longer allowed on the floors. Many hotels in myrtle beach have gone this route to combat the “pizza flyer” solicitation issue, as well as homeless folks pulling on door handles. I can understand that! Security is a must in this town. However, PLEASE do not threaten me and my livelihood! THIS IS MY JOB and I am just trying to do it in the same you you are. There is absolutely no reason to have the attitude you had with me, and to throw threats at me for doing absolutely nothing wrong. I stopped in the lobby and called my customer as I was ask, but this response from the employee was completely unwarranted. To potential guests and customers of this resort, PLEASE rethink your decision and stay elsewhere this is one of the most filthy and disgusting hotels in myrtle beach. It takes up 5 blocks of area and is too understaffed to be properly maintained and serviced. You WILL have a bad experience and you WILL be wasting your money here! There is a reason this place has never had over a 3 star rating!!! And if you have fallen into the trap that is this horrible resort, please join me in giving this place the awful ratings it deserves.
And you know what, I’ll add on to this!! This goes WITHOUT MENTIONING the “sea mist bed bug scandal” that swept the internet locally last year. Having personally lived at the end of the street from this resort, I constantly saw police at this hotel due to the constant drug use and crimes that took place here. Including the shooting that happened down the street at the Circle K on 15th Ave s back in 2018 or 2019!! I say it again, for your own safety and your families, DO...

In all seriousness, please do not ruin your vacation by staying here. I am going to give you a long list of reasons why this is not the place you want to stay.
The only similarity between what the room looks like and the pictures is the layout of the room. It took 30 minutes to get through the check in line becasue there were so many people complaining about their rooms. That was a red flag for us so we asked for our room key before we paid/checked in. The first room they tried to put us in was DISGUSTING. It had gross old carpet, questionable mattresses The buildings are very outdated and falling apart. There was nowhere to wash yourself off when leaving the beach. The staff, with the exception of one lady, are horrible! They are not friendly and could care less about your comments, questions, or concerns. 6.You have to walk to the office to get towels, wash rags, and trash bags. 7.The room was an efficiency. The coffee maker had no filters, coffee, or cups provided. There were not enough cups, plates, or utensils for a family of 4. The stove and fridge were rusted, so you would have to worry about a little one touching it and getting hurt. Parking is terrible because they have so many buildings. Some spots that you would think would be for the hotel required you to pay a parking meter. Several people received parking tickets. The several pools that they advertise are not all available. The Waterpark closes at 6, causing the 1 large operating pool to be very crowded. Don't have high expectations for the other amenities they offered like the putt put aka carpeted area with holes in it or the fithly arcade. The security guards are not helpful at all, don't try to ask them questions about good places to eat or fun things to do in the area. There was 1 chair on the balcony The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. Good Luck getting hot water. There are no blankets on the bed, just sheets. We bring our own anyway but I'm sure other people don't.
I am not trying to bash the hotel; I am just leaving an honest review in hopes of saving someone else...
