I was overly excited and completely hyped up to try Oak Steakhouse! I absolutely adored the atmosphere. Phenomenal service! The drinks were worth the visit, for sure. Out of the entire menu, the drinks, the cheese board and the bread and butter basket was the only thing that I am able to brag about; and my friends and I ordered a ridiculous amount of food. The bone marrow— I personally could not get past the smell. It had a foul smell that lingered. Out of the crew of 8– there was one person that didn’t spit the bone marrow out. Maybe this is a food that has an acquired taste? I’m not sure, but what I am sure of is that the server gawked over it while giving an explanation of the Bone Marrow, and we were let down when we tasted it. The mashed potatoes, I honestly can not even remember what taste they had. Even though it was less than a week ago. I normally eat ALL Brussels when they are ordered. Yes, even the shareable sized side items. For the first time in my life, I left all but a small handful uneaten. Now… the A5 Wagyu- which is probably what you scrolled down this review for; in order to get an idea of the taste, flavor, texture, juiciness, and all around taste. Anyone who knows their wagyu, knows that A5 Japanese Wagyu is most likely going to take some breaths away. Not this “A5 Wagyu”. I even asked the server if it was Japanese A5. I was told that it was. I have NEVER spit Japanese A5 Wagyu out. Never Ever! I did just that at Oak Steakhouse! There is no way that the steak that our entire party had was the same A5 that Bourbon Steakhouse serves. The “A5 Japanese” Wagyu at Oak Steakhouse was nothing but chewy, unpleasant bite of broken dreams! I wanted so badly to fall head over heels in love with the food— as I did with the atmosphere. I wanted to have a 2nd choice for A5 Wagyu in Nashville. Other than Bourbon Steakhouse, which is my ALL TIME favorite. However, this was not the case! If you are planning a trip to Oak Steakhouse and you are familiar with the real-deal A5 Japanese Wagyu, I would recommend shooting for a burger or something not as extravagant. My world was crushed. We actually left much earlier than expected and walked over to Bourbon Steakhouse and squeezed into the bar for some real desserts, some drinks and one heck of a view! Bourbon Steakhouse out does all! The crème brûlée was cold all the way through. I’m not sure if crème brûlée is supposed to be cold or warm, but I love mine warm. I do not like cold cream Brûlé. I didn’t take many photos as I was not impressed. I did however, snap a picture of the Bone Marrow.

A colleague of mine had been raving about this steakhouse, so my wife and I finally decided to check it out for ourselves. We booked a table about a week in advance—since we’ve been to quite a few steakhouses in Nashville and only a handful have truly impressed us, we were curious to see where this one would land. We arrived around 6 PM on a Saturday, just as the evening crowd started to roll in. The space is spacious and warmly lit, with a cozy yet sophisticated vibe—elegant without being stiff, and lively without being loud. It felt like the kind of place you could enjoy both a romantic dinner and a fun night out with friends. Food & Drinks: • Bread with honey butter: A great start. The bread was warm and soft with a crispy top, and the sprinkle of sea salt balanced out the sweetness of the honey butter perfectly. Simple, but done right. • Prosecco: I’m not much of a wine drinker, but this one was surprisingly enjoyable—light and refreshing. • Sparkling cocktail: Made with gin and lemon juice, garnished with a lemon slice. It tasted almost like a fresh lemonade, in the best way. Smooth and easy to drink. • Beef tartare: Flavor-packed and nicely balanced. The beef was well-seasoned, the horseradish gave it a bold kick, and the crispy toast added just the right crunch. The sauce underneath was rich and savory—maybe a bit salty for my taste, but overall, a standout dish. • 8oz Filet Mignon: The steak came out beautifully charred and seasoned. It was tender and flavorful, practically melting in our mouths. It wasn’t as juicy as I usually like—likely due to the dry aging—but still really well-executed. Even as someone who prefers a juicier, greasier cut, I found this one very enjoyable. • Banana pudding crème brûlée: This dessert was phenomenal. Silky, perfectly balanced, and topped with a caramelized sugar layer that was totally addictive. A creative twist on a Southern classic, and a perfect ending to the meal. All in all, we had a wonderful evening. The food was consistently excellent, the drinks were refreshing, and the atmosphere made the whole experience feel special. If you’re hunting for a top-tier steakhouse in Nashville, this place definitely earns a spot on the list.
