We stayed here for my bachelorette party this past weekend and the experience was not what I wanted.

First of all we arrive and our room wasn’t ready and we had to wait and take our bags to an area to wait and the guys there weren’t friendly that took our bags for holding. And check in was at 4pm! We had dinner reservations at 7pm and still needed to change and get ready since we just flew in from a 7am flight. We had 2 rooms since we were a large group and they only had one available after 4 pm and it was not the room I was staying in. My sister had to decorate the room for surprising me before I could go up to the room and get ready and had to use that room instead since the other one wasn’t available to us yet. My fiancé had ordered champagne be sent to the room and it wasn’t chilled and that arrived after we got the room when it should have already been in the room and manager was notified and never got back to the guy in charge of setting it all up for both rooms so surprised was ruined for that. Then they tried to send cheese platters to try to make up for it, nice touch but we couldn’t even eat or enjoy cause we had a dinner to rush to get to. Half of us had to try and get ready in the one room we had available while waiting on the other which wasn’t ready till 5:30 and the front desk had said they would let us know when it was ready but didn’t. My sister had to go down and check on if it was ready yet or not.

After all that we go to front desk to speak to someone we asked to speak with management and never heard anything back from them! The staff said they would get back to us and relay the message And said management won’t deal with anything at night even emergencies and mentioned how scary the job is to deal with if someone gets hurt or anything happens. The front desk staff and staff around the hotel all were sweet and friendly and the people at the front made us aware that management doesn’t do anything and they pretty much take the brunt of everything when it comes to this hotel and have to deal with it all because management doesn’t do their job. We were told they already had other incidents they also were dealing with besides ours which makes it clear management is lazy or doesn’t care about their staff or the people who pay to stay here. This was so disappointing to hear cause overall it is a beautiful hotel, free breakfast great, free 2 drinks per night great. But the way things get handled here NOT great!

Oh and don’t get me started on the water. They have a water machine but no cups to get water unless you come down with one from your room or find one somewhere. This is annoying so I was dehydrated most of the trip and because they close their snack area early where you can buy a water. If you stay here buy lots of water!! Just saying!!

At the end of the day I’m upset that the management never handled the situation AT ALL!!! They should have taken care of our first night stay for the inconvenience of getting checked in so late and other room not being available till 5:30, but they didn’t! They didn’t do anything about it at all! And all the pressure is put on their staff and this is a Hilton hotel which is much more disappointing because I have stayed at many Hiltons and this is not the way it should ever be handled, Very...

Review of Embassy Suites by Hilton – Downtown Nashville (The Gulch)

Just spent a few nights at the Embassy Suites in downtown Nashville, and overall, it was a solid stay with a couple of plot twists worthy of a country song.

First, the good stuff: the room was spotless—clean enough to perform surgery in, though I settled for sleeping and sipping bourbon. The suite layout was spacious and well thought out, with a bed that didn’t assault my back and a shower that actually had water pressure (which, as seasoned travelers know, is a rare win these days).

Now, let me tip my hat to Sarah, the nighttime bartender up at The Overlook bar on the 30th floor. Friendly, professional, and quick with a pour—Sarah made each overpriced bourbon feel a little less painful. She’s the kind of bartender who remembers your name, your drink, and probably your childhood trauma if you hang around long enough. A real gem.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the daytime bartender, Shawna. When I returned to retrieve my misplaced credit card the next day, I was met with all the warmth of a tax audit. I let her know I’d left my card at the bar the previous night, and without missing a beat (or making any attempt to help), she flatly said, “Well, I can’t help you, I didn’t work the night.” And that was it. No effort, no check in the back, not even a fake “let me ask someone.” Shawna, if you’re reading this: I wasn’t expecting a parade, but maybe just a touch of customer service?

Luckily, Joy at the front desk lived up to her name. She was kind, helpful, and genuinely cared when I shared my not-so-joyful bar story. The front desk manager stepped in, took it seriously, and after some professional sleuthing, my card was finally returned—just in time to keep hemorrhaging $20 a glass for bourbon neat. At that price, I started sipping slower and praying harder.

As for the “complimentary” evening reception… well, let’s just say I’ve had better drinks at church potlucks. The wine options were bargain-bin cabernet and chardonnay that might double as furniture polish, and the mixed drinks tasted like they were pre-batched in a frat house bathtub. If you’re hoping for a decent pour, bring your own bottle and pour it in a hotel cup.

Breakfast was decent—saved mostly by the omelet station. A real chef making real eggs to order goes a long way. But would it kill them to label which coffee is decaf and which one actually has caffeine? A man shouldn't have to gamble with his energy levels before 9 a.m.

Bottom line: clean rooms, solid location, great nighttime service, and a helpful front desk team that knows how to make things right. Just don’t expect much from the free drinks or the daytime bar staff. Bring patience, bring your own wine, and double-check which pot has the real coffee before you commit.

In summary: clean rooms, great location, stellar nighttime staff, and a front desk team that knows how to step up when things go sideways. Just avoid the bar before sunset unless you're into awkward encounters and expensive disappointment.

Would I stay here again? Probably—just as long as Sarah's working and my...

I read a 5 star review citing this is a "posh" hotel. Unless there is a part of the building that I'm not aware of, posh does not come into play. It was an odd Embassy Suites. When we arrived, we were put in the wrong room. We were moved to a Panoramic Skyview Suite which would have been nice if the blackout curtains closed and weren't hanging halfway off the rods. The man, don't know if he were a manager, who took us to the room, when I brought up the curtains did not close all of the way, he cited "No one will want to see in here". I did not really know how to take that. Then the toilet was broken so we had a very nice maintenance guy come up and start working on it. We were moved again to room 1222 which was a nice suite. Ok now every. single. day. was a struggle. We had a Keurig for coffee but no coffee but tea that was for a different machine. There are no clocks on the nightstands. The phones in the rooms were not charged so we kept having to go down to the front desk. They ration water. You get two bottles of water per day per room. We have a coffee maker, finally coffee pods but they make you buy water if you drink the two bottles throughout the day. The girls at the front desk were not friendly. They treated guests as irritants. I was overcharged for our room. In-room dining is an ordeal, we ended up opting out and ordered food from Hattie's door dash. The restaurant atop the hotel where the pool is, you eat and smell chlorine. We ate up there once and were brought out food and had to go to the bar to get silverware, napkins. The floors in the rooms are wood, except for the bedroom area, so you could hear people with hard sole shoes walking around. Room 1222 was nice, clean, the blackout curtains worked and were not hanging off the rods at the tops as the previous room, but the entire stay was a struggle. Again, if you score to get a nice, clean room, good on you. After three room changes and getting charged over $2500 as soon as we checked in and the cluster, begging for water, etc. every single day throughout the day this hotel made our visit to Nashville a one and done. We should have stayed with the Omni, i.e. "Posh". The Embassy Suites Downtown Nashville is not "posh". It was all very odd. Lastly, pay attention to the credit card you give them. I know this is a cluster review but that's how our stay shook out. Oh, housekeeping was very nice however there was a language barrier. My son used an App to help translate which worked very well. We tipped housekeeping very well. Reading the reviews regarding the elevators are true. They are slow. One woman waited for 35 minutes. We made sure the day we departed for the airport that we gauged the elevator issue so we could get down to our Uber and not miss our flight. There's no...
