Service Bourbon Steak isn't just about the amazing food (although we'll get to that in a minute), it's the whole experience. From the moment I was seated, the service was impeccable. Attentive without being intrusive, my server made sure my water glass was always full and anticipated my needs before I even voiced them. It felt effortless and genuinely friendly, which these days can be rare. By the time I got the check, I felt like I had been dining with friends, not just having a meal. 5 stars.
Steak Bourbon Steak's Delmonico Rib Eye promised a night of indulgence, and it delivered on some aspects. The steak itself was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, juicy and flavorful. The portion was generous, and the blue cheese and crispy onion toppings added a nice touch of richness and texture. It definitely satisfied my hunger.
However, for a high-end steakhouse experience, the Delmonico Rib Eye fell a bit short. Compared to other memorable steaks I've had, that first bite lacked a wow factor. The flavor, while good, wasn't anything extraordinary. Overall, it was a decent steak dinner, but for the price tag, I was expecting something more impressive. 3 stars.
Potato Puree Let me tell you about the potato puree at Bourbon Steak. Forget everything you think you know about this side dish, because this is next-level. From the first creamy bite to the last, it was pure potato perfection. So smooth and flavorful, it was like mashed potato velvet.
But wait, there's more! The butter they use... oh man, the butter! Rich, decadent, and somehow it just made the whole thing even more amazing. Each mouthful was a delightful melody of creamy potato and luxurious butter. Honestly, I never thought I could be so excited about mashed potatoes, but Bourbon Steak did it. 5 stars for this incredible side dish!
Mac & Cheese Bourbon Steak's mac & cheese wasn't quite a life-changer, but it definitely deserves a thumbs up. The cheese sauce was rich and flavorful, clinging perfectly to the al dente pasta. Overall, it was a cheesy, satisfying side dish that hit all the right comfort food notes. 4 stars!
Crispy Brussel Sprouts Brussels sprouts? At a fancy steakhouse? Don't knock it till you try them at Bourbon Steak! These crispy brussel sprouts with honey and lime were an absolute revelation. Each bite was a symphony of textures and flavors. The outsides were perfectly crisp, giving way to tender, juicy brussels on the inside. The real magic was in the sauce - a delightful balance of sweet honey and tangy lime. It cut through the richness of the dish beautifully, leaving you wanting more.
Seriously, these brussel sprouts were a superstar side dish. They were so good, I almost considered ditching my steak and just ordering a whole plate of them. Almost. But seriously, don't miss this incredible veggie option at Bourbon Steak. It's a 5-star side that proves vegetables can be just as exciting (and maybe even more delicious) than steak.
Cranberry Cheesecake Bourbon Steak's cranberry cheesecake situation was a bit of a curveball. Instead of a classic slice, it came out as these little scooped balls. Maybe it throws you off visually, because honestly, it tasted more like a fancy cranberry sorbet than an actual cheesecake. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty - the cranberry topping was tart and refreshing, and the texture was smooth. But for a high-end place, I was expecting a creamy, decadent cheesecake experience. This ended up being a lighter option, more like a frozen dessert. 2 stars overall. It was good, but not what I was hoping for.
Overall, Bourbon Steak gets 3 stars. It's a beautiful restaurant with impeccable service, but the food itself was a bit uneven. The sides were amazing, but the steak and dessert fell a bit short of my expectations for the price tag. If you're looking for an experience focused on service and atmosphere, it's a great choice. But if your priority is an unforgettable steak dinner, you might want to...
Read moreMe and my wife were celebrating our 11 yr anniversary and we have tried most steak houses in Nashville and the past few times we chose a steak house it’s been Harper’s but she wanted to try this one I’m sure she seen it online. When we first arrived I noticed white rag dust all over the table I’m assuming from where they wiped the table down with a dry rag not sure why they would use a dry one but ok didn’t faze me too much. They brought us water I picked mine up to take a drink and there was the white rag left over floating in that as well from where they kept those in the table I’m guessing when they wiped it down. Ok I ordered a Diet Coke any way. We got some fries they were very good we got a salad each it was ok too. Then they brought the food out I got the ribeye my wife got a steak as well. I cut mine open and noticed it was over cooked I wanted medium it was medium well. I didn’t say anything I know better than to send my order back and as slow as they were I was not waiting so I just showed my wife and kept eating. I expect at a steak house it to be cooked spot on and usually that’s the case at all other steak houses we go to. The table to our right also had there steak not cooked right as she sent it back to get it thrown back on the grill I partly wondered if she got mine instead but I ate it. We also ordered the broccoli it was nasty not cooked all the way and there was a off taste to it almost like they cooked it over a grill with no flame just the gas running under it. Me or my wife could not eat it. It’s ok we got the crab Mac and cheese as well and portion was large so we started on that and it was very good right up until the last bite I even told my wife this is the last one I bit down and got a mouth full of crab shell my eyes went wide and my wife asked me what’s wrong and a spit it out in my napkin and said it got a bunch of shell in it. That was my last straw. I was ready to leave I was disappointed at every step of the way. I can’t recommend this place to any one unless your going for the fries and a drink my wife had 2 margaritas she said they were pretty good. From the dirty table and water cups to the food being nasty over cooked and shells in the crab Mac and cheese man what a memory unfortunately not a good one. For the price of steak houses when you go we don’t go often maybe 5-6 times a yr but you know your spending 300-500 dollars when you go (my wife tells me for the experience) it needs to be better than what we got oh and I forgot to mention my coke since I don’t drink alcohol I finished it the fries were a tad salty and I waited 15-30 mins for a refill I mean if I’m paying 6 bucks a drink and for refills, keep them coming when my cup is empty if I’m getting a 100 steak I can afford a few refills. Any way I just can’t say how disappointed I was worst steak house In nashville in my opinion I would even rate Outback...
Read moreMy fiancé and I came here for a delicious and wonderful experience and Bourbon Steak did not disappoint at all!!!
The quality of food at this restaurant was exceptional, with the Mac and cheese being hands down the best dish at the steakhouse. The raw flavor of cheese and creaminess oozed from every bite, making it absolutely delicious. Not only that, but the complimentary truffle fries were also amazing, and the dipping sauces had a perfect balance of flavors. The crab cake was also a standout, with its potent and mouth-watering taste. The steak my fiancé ordered the Waygu Surf and Turf which was incredible and I ordered the rib cap, which was very tasty, but not the best steak ever. How did I forget the desert? That was extremely delicious as well. The creme brûlée was overpowering with delicious flavor and we had a terrific portion, as seen in the photos below. Overall, the food was exemplary, and it was clear that the chefs put a lot of care and attention into each dish.
Service was fantastic as well. Our server knew the menu inside and out, provided great recommendations to us, and was outstanding. We felt heard and taken care of, and that’s what matters the most.
The ambiance of a restaurant plays a crucial role in the overall dining experience, and the steakhouse on the 34th floor of a hotel in Downtown Nashville certainly does not disappoint. The breathtaking views of the city skyline add a touch of elegance and sophistication to the dining atmosphere. The wood-fire dining hall theme further enhances the ambiance, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that pairs perfectly with the concept of a steakhouse. The combination of the stunning views and the cozy ambiance creates a memorable dining experience that is hard to forget. It truly sets the tone for a perfect evening of indulging in delicious meals and enjoying the company of loved ones. Overall, the ambiance of this restaurant is a standout feature that adds to the overall appeal of the dining experience.
Chef Michael Mina's cooking was nothing short of extraordinary. Mina’s signature Mac and cheese dish was truly a standout, with its creamy and rich texture combined with a perfect balance of flavors. But it wasn't just this dish that impressed us, every dish we tried was a masterpiece in its own right. Mina's intellect and expertise in the kitchen is evident in every bite, as he expertly combines unique and unexpected flavors to create mouth-watering dishes. What struck me the most about Mina's cooking is his understanding that sometimes simplicity can work wonders. He doesn't rely on overly complicated techniques or ingredients, instead he lets the quality of the ingredients shine through. Mina has instilled our faith in the culinary world again, showing that simplicity can often be the key to success.
We will definitely be coming back here… truly a 5-star...
