We definitely felt slighted here and not comfortable enough to share that with the staff. We arrived 5 minutes late due to an issue with our Uber, found zero directions inside the hotel for how to get here or on the email, and by the time we found it were 8 minutes late. Then we find a tiny print at the bottom of the confirmation email that we should arrive 30 minutes early. How easy is it to miss that? Anyways they would not let us in until the first course was to be served, cramming a lot of people into one corner of an otherwise semi spacious room. We were sat close to a very loud party who talked over most of the animations. Then, between each dish, we were still eating or barely finished when the plates were whisked away. How rude! Then to on top of that, request extra tip on not one but TWO additional areas in top of the included tip? This is insane. The service was terrible.
My wife and i were celebrating our 6 year anniversary at this and the show was fun. The little chef was cute and funny. It was sort of strange how differently the food looked on a couple of the plates than it did when the tiny chef made it. She got the regular menu and i got the Grand menu because she doesn't like lobster or American Wagyu, especially when it is ungraded. The purchase option didn't tell us that the grand menu came with two glasses of (really bad) wine. So i asked for another glass of it for her. She has a slight allergy to scallops, so instead of putting the other seafood into a vegetable broth, they gave her straight vegetables in vegetable broth. She missed out on squid, whitefish, and shrimp that she would have been okay with. I indicated that it was a very mild allergy and they acknowledged that and asked if they could just swap the broth out, which we said was great. What we got was much less. Anyways the chicken was actually dry and the "filet" steak was burnt. It was a shame because it was a very tender cut. this is one of the dishes we were still eating when they snatched them away.
Anyway I'm going to emphasize that the first dish was amazing. The tomatoes were great. The cheese was a perfect pairing. The second dish was very good. Maybe a little bit bland. Fish tasted like it was maybe frozen. Third dish was the dry chicken breast slice, with a great garnish. Forth was the tender, delicious steaks. Only the filet was burnt. The sauce that came with it was perfect, along with the little onion and i think carrot? Fifth was a desert that looked notice like what the little chef put out. They added a cake, gold flake, and changed the whipped cream to Chantilly cream, along with exchanging the mint garnish for a microgreen and added some red jam to the plate spread thin like a bloody mess. It was delicious, but very different than the animation.
The extra expense for the "better" menu was not worth it. At all... You're paying for a smaller piece of steak, really, really bad wine, and a quarter of a lobster tail to be mixed in with the seafood broth. They saved enough money on my wife's seafood dish to have covered the $14 upcharge for the glass of wine we didn't know about and didn't want her to feel left out about.
The concept is cute and cool, the good is very good, but the execution left a lot to be desired
Edit: i knocked this down to one star from three when i found out my photos and video were being used alongside reviews that talked about how good the service is. This isn't good service. I was also quoted on the listing of this for the tomatoes and burrata being a great pairing but that was a STARK contrast to everything else. Also, i cannot believe that they have said nothing to any of the critical reviews on here. They have all been ignored by owners, management, and staff. That should tell...
Read moreThis was a bucket list for me. I’m glad I brought my daughter because seeing her face was ultimately what took away the regret of spending so much on it. I can’t speak for other locations but the food was really bad. Service was friendly and warm, the show was great, the MC was awesome and if I had driven, valet parking would have been included so that definitely counts for something. But the food was so poorly executed. The prettiest one - the seafood cioppino was similar to the Trader Joe’s version…. Formerly frozen and bland tasting. The filet was not treated with much respect either. Brownie… dry. Chicken… weird. Kids lasagna…. Ranna brand….the “mustard sauce” for kids chicken was Ken’s honey mustard dressing adjacent …… Cheese toast with tomato soup and burrata salad were delicious…. You can give me cheaper food and do a better job making it and I wouldn’t be here making this complaint at all….$200 per head though y’all…. This concept would BLOW UP at a lower price point geared towards kids… think of the birthday parties…. You could put them in malls and offer different menu choices. Such a sick idea but if you charge for fancy and advertise as fancy… the food needs to be fresher, more flavorful, and properly prepared fresh by a capable chef. Steak had no sear nor a pink center and severely lacked seasoning. I feel like this whole package comes in a box from Skull mapping and they include the food like Factor meals. It kills me that the food was like this because everything else about it was so great!!! I wonder if I’m right about the packaged food or if this location isn’t doing the recipes justice. Either way, one and done but glad we did it. Wish I took advantage of the valet just to get more value. It is a great memory we will have forever and the service was certainly part of that. They included gratuity on my bill, which I’m fine with, since I noticed it. The venue is cool. It’s next to a pool bar and I’m sure they do a lot of events but if this is the quality of food, I would not recommend having your...
Read moreNot worth the money and you’ll end up sick. As Nashville natives we had high hopes given the location and theme based on social media posts about the experience, but we were very let down. Every course of food came out lukewarm, like they made everything earlier in the day and then left the plates under a heat lamp for hours. Also, the food isn’t very flavorful as the first 3 courses are very salty and overcooked. The videos of the animated Petit chef were very short and grainy, and they all end with each course coming out quickly after. Normally not a bad thing, but they barely give you 5-10 minutes for each course, so you don’t get a chance to actually enjoy what you’re eating before they come to take the plates away. The seafood soup was cold and the chicken was overcooked and lukewarm. I barely had a-few sips of alcohol at dinner and we went home afterwards. I ended up with food poisoning later that night and into the next day. When we reached out to let them know the food was possibly mishandled, the Grand Hyatt all but accused me of making it up as no one else complained of sickness. They clearly have not read previous guest reviews as many other guests have complained of lukewarm food too. The atmosphere could be cool if it wasn’t in the poolside bar area. Given the bar setting, they acted as if the bartender couldn’t make many drinks. Additionally, ordering drinks was very difficult as the servers couldn’t understand and acted as if they couldn’t be bothered to tend to the tables. During the dinner, my husband had one cocktail and I had maybe one lemonade refill the entire night and I felt like we were lucky...
