March 2025--Bed Bugs in Room 1922
First, I want to state that this is a really nice hotel. It's perfectly located and it's a Drury so you are getting free breakfast and free Happy Hour dinner and drinks. It's 22 stories and offers a variety of suites that make it perfect for small families. We booked an Upper Floor King Suite. It was massive and had panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows.
We checked in on Friday March 7th and then headed out for a night in Nashville. Fast forward to 4AM. Wife and son are asleep, baby is starting to stir. I take her to the living room and lay her on the sofa bed to change her and give her a bottle. That's when I saw it.
I called my wife over. Look! Look! She found a ziplock bag and two minutes later I was in the lobby showing the front desk attendant. Five minutes later and I'm carrying son and baby to Room 2201. Next we are taking all our hastily repacked luggage to Room 1205 where it will remain the rest of the weekend.
It's now Wednesday and my wife is still running hot dryer cycles, dishwasher cycles, and even oven cycles to sanitize what items we can. We had to get rid of our baby's bassinet, playpen, and our luggage set. Too large and too many nooks and crannies. With a five year old and a four month old we cannot risk bringing bed bugs home with us.
This is the first time we have encountered bed bugs at a hotel. We stay at La Quintas, Best Westerns, Hamptons, Hyatts, Residence Inns, and Drury Inns & Suites. I'm not sure what happened. I'm not sure why of all the hotels this hotel, the highly reviewed and beautiful Drury Nashville Downtown would be our first encounter with bed bugs.
We didn't sleep much this weekend. We had to throw away items that are precious to us. We are still running dryer, dishwasher, and oven cycles to prevent bed bugs coming home with us. I'm hoping that we are safe. The last thing I want is to change our baby's diaper one morning and discover red welts all over her body. What started as a nice family weekend in Nashville should not end in a nightmare in Birmingham.
My wife and I loved this hotel. I booked the Drury for the five-star reviews on TripAdvisor, the generous suites, and the high ratings for cleanliness. All Friday we talked about the view and size of the suite and the delicious meatballs and mashed potatoes at Kickbacks. It would have been a great stay. Then bed bugs happened. Five days later it's still happening.
You're more than likely to have a wonderful stay at the Drury Nashville Downtown. Experts recommend spending a few minutes checking the sheets, mattress, headboard, and furniture. If possible, do not unpack. Please be careful. Hopefully you can avoid repeating...
Read moreI stayed here for 1 night by myself on July 29th Just a bit over 1 week ago. I had never been to nashville and wanted somewhere close to broadway as im not scared to walk a bit for some sights
I booked the hotel by calling them directly and telling them I was comparing their price by phone to what I could get thru a discount w my car insurance carrier.
Come to find out she was able to book the rook over the phone for the same price..which makes me feel good as I feel too many things can happen when you start having different places book things to small percents...sometimes in the end it isn't worth the hassle
However the transaction of booking yhe room and the the total price of the room was spot on
Parking is 42$ a night which i parked at check it..and never drove my car again till check out the next day.
Be mindful of what ya want to do around nashville..I wanted to juat aee the strip and wo der about the many blocks that are within 2 to 3 miles of the hotel
The location was perfect..right down the street from near the start broadway. The pedestrian bridge ia right down the road.
The hotel was clean and check in was flawless.
I utilized their kickbacks having the drinks from 5-7pm and the hot apps from 530 to 7.....it was Tuesday so tacos were around and hot dogs..nachos and cheese..it was nice
A few rum and cokes for free leaving the bartender a small tip for serving many folks from the hotel staying the night.
The breakfast the next morning you could make waffles....or there were pancakes..sausage..and eggs
I honestly ate at the hotel and only had ice creme late at night for a nice snack.
I planned this short trip out so well..favoring many places I wanted to see..and I couldn't of asked for a better hotel that was close and included so much for the price.
They had some live music the night i arrived up in their 8th floor restuarant.
The pool was nice and i got in there a good 4 times.
It was never too crowded and was clean and plenty of seating snd the views from tbe 8th floor are great.
This review is just about the hotel but I went to a good 20 different bars or well known spots to enjoy way more about nashville.
I felt safe walking around by myself..even up till about 130am when I left kid rocks bar and walked back to the hotel which is just a few blocks
I knew how much I needed to see nashville till I left there.
I take so many pics and try to download all the sights and sounds and lights that shine because my father was diagnosed with alzheimer's at 59 years old
I feel its the only thing that may take the views iv seen from me...so I keep.my phone close by me so I...
Read moreI rarely write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share the distressing experience I had during my recent stay. I am 59 years old, and my girlfriend, who is 53, and I, both professionals, were looking forward to a comfortable stay. However, the events that transpired were far from acceptable, and I am deeply dissatisfied with how our situation was handled.
When we arrived, we discovered that the parking facility was two blocks away from the front desk. There were no bellboys available to assist with our luggage. To make matters worse, all elevators were out of service, and guests—some as high as the 20th floor—were expected to carry their own luggage. We were also told that guests were not permitted to use the service elevator, which added to the frustration.
Upon entering our room, we noticed an unusual odor that resembled THC. Shortly after, we received a text from the hotel notifying us that if the odor was coming from our room, we needed to stop. We want to clarify that the smell was not coming from our room, and we were perplexed by this communication.
After spending the day in Nashville, we returned to the hotel in the evening only to find that our room had been locked. The manager informed us that security—based in another state—had directed us to be removed from the hotel. We were stunned. The manager then escorted us to our room, where we were given just 10 minutes to pack our belongings. To make matters worse, we were charged for the entire weekend despite only staying one night.
As a result, we were left walking down the street with our suitcases at midnight after a long day in Nashville. Unfortunately, during this ordeal, my girlfriend tripped and suffered a significant leg injury. The entire situation felt surreal, as though we were caught in a bad dream. Even after Visa credited our account, we were still charged by the hotel.
We want to emphasize that we never smoked THC, and we were located at the end of the hall, surrounded by many other rooms. No one could identify the source of the odor, yet we were unjustly forced to leave based on an unverified claim from someone in another state.
Additionally, we were disappointed to find that the pool was shaded for half of the day, which impacted our ability to enjoy the amenities.
This was the worst experience we have ever had at a hotel, and we hope that you take this feedback seriously to improve the experience for...
