This has undeniably been the most disappointing hotel experience I've ever encountered. Upon my arrival for check-in, I explicitly informed the receptionist that I was part of a group attending the NAEYC conference and had reserved four King-Sized Standard rooms two months in advance. To my dismay, two of the rooms were mysteriously upgraded to King-Sized Deluxe Suites without my consent, and an attempt was made to charge me at the higher rate. Only when I pointed out the error did the clerk acknowledge the mistake, claiming there were no standard rooms available. After expressing my frustration, miraculously, two standard rooms became available, and the correct rate had to be manually entered.
However, the inconvenience didn't end there. Instead of a single swipe for all four rooms, my business card was swiped twice, leading to it being locked by the bank due to suspected fraud. To cover the remaining rooms, I had to use my personal card, prompting me to contemplate what would have happened if I hadn't had the funds readily available in my savings.
Throughout my stay, an unpleasant aroma of marijuana pervaded the hotel, and housekeeping was lax, sometimes entering without knocking in the late afternoon. The situation escalated when two unauthorized charges appeared on my personal card after the third night. Upon investigation, I discovered my personal card was erroneously linked to all rooms. A visit to the front desk resulted in the removal of the unauthorized charges, but the manager's attempt to authorize my card for an additional $850 left me perplexed.
Despite explaining that the rooms had already been charged and funds deducted, the manager seemed uncertain, and this, coupled with the myriad inconveniences, left me with an unsettling feeling. To ensure my financial security, I opted to cancel my personal card since the charges per night were taken out of my account, an extreme measure reflecting the depth of my dissatisfaction. The receptionists' apparent lack of customer service skills and the manager's confusion throughout the ordeal only added to the overall unpleasant experience. Although the hotel's location within walking distance to various amenities was a positive aspect, I cannot recommend staying here based on my...
Read moreTerrible management and night staff. I was staying at a neighboring apartment in Nashville. Also— though it should not matter—I am a Hyatt loyalty member . At about 2:20am tonight I called the Hyatt to let them know that they’d left the music playing at their pool (no one was at the pool) and that it was quite loud. The staff member who answered the call was quite rude and told me that the pool area did not have speakers or music and suggested I was mistaken. I told him that music had been playing all day at the pool (when it was busy during the daylight hours) and so that was untrue. He argued with me but told me that he would have a security guard check it out. At 2:43 am I called Hyatt Centric a SECOND time to inform them that the music in their pool area was still on and disruptive to everyone around trying to sleep. The same person answered the second time and again informed me that the Hyatt Centric had no speakers at the pool. At this point I was pretty livid as he had had 20-30 mins to simply go to the pool to realize I was right. Instea, he was defensive and told me he’d alerted security but they “never got back to” him! Technically what Hyatt Centric was doing was in violation of local noise ordinances but their rep claimed that as he’d informed security, there was nothing they could do. I was very direct with him and indicated my next step would be to call the police. Approximately 10 mins later, the music was turned off. In case there is any doubt of where the music was coming from, here’s a pic of a Hyatt staff member exiting the pool area after turning the music (that I was told did not exist) OFF. You should be ashamed of yourselves for your absolute disrespect to your neighbors. When I called the first time, I was pretty nice as I thought it was just an oversight. Didn’t expect to be gaslit by being told you have no music...
Read moreI had a great stay at the Hyatt Centric. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The lobby is small and has a well-stocked sundry shop, which is appreciated.||Since my room was waiting for inspection, I started at the pool, which was a fun time on a Saturday afternoon. It's a great pool, though small with not quite enough seating. Bartenders were friendly and the DJ was good. Frozen drinks were tasty. Pool was clean enough that I'd get in it, but could've used a vacuum and a skim, plus stronger filters. Seems they need better and more frequent pool maintenance. ||I received a text notifying me that my room was ready. The suite was very nice. Great kitchen and table area, plus a huge living area. Bed was incredibly comfy. Bathroom was lovely. However, on closer review, the room should not have passed inspection. There were short black hairs all over the shower and on one of the bath mats. Tub could've been cleaner (obviously, I cleaned it before use). Wish the shower was when you walk into the shower, instead of being under the shower head. I appreciated the Nespresso machine and pods. Those were much needed.||Despite cleanliness issues, I'd return, in hopes they were improved. I had a great room and a...
