National at 888 6th Avenue — Hotel in New York

I was 3 month there. Very Positiv: Location (for subways and trains there is no better location) Clean (at arrival the room was very clean, also after booking room service (additional costs)) the one doormen (you will figure out who i mean) responsiveness of the agency: problems are adressed quickly and effectivly.

Neutral: amenities (common area and fitness room, and shared washing mashines on each floor.) lift only had a problem once in 100 days. post: you have your own post box and packages are managed and kept safe by the doormans

Negativ: Noise!! If you are noise sensitive, its not your place. Pretty much 0 isolation towards the outside and the hallways. Whatever your room nighbours do and say, you will hear. What ever you do and say, they will hear. Aircondition is also loud, but at least there is one. Price! From May to August i had to pay 210$ a night. Thats as much as you pay in many hotels, just here there is no included room service (additional 220$ each time you request it).

Oakwood property and service remains to uphold its standard and quality. Our key contact was Axel Fischer who has been very responsive and accommodating to the changes in our schedule. He made sure that our requests were attended to. Our check-in process was very efficient and we very much enjoyed our stay there. The location was great and the amenities in the suite were well-stocked. We understand that Oakwood at Sixth Avenue will be discontinued but Axel has already shown us the other property at Midtown which we will definitely consider when we next visit New York City. I visited several nearby hotels and long-term properties before selecting Oakwood. The reason for selecting was the attentive response by the manager Axel Fischer to all of my questions and concerns. Since I was staying for medical reasons, timing and efficiency were extremely important to me. Everyone at this site (Axel, maintenance staff, front door team) was extremely professional, helpful, and kind – making me feel safe, welcomed, and always appreciated.
