By month ago I made a trip to Manhattan New York. I was going for a doctors appointment there and I was put up in a hotel listed above. Here is my review for that hotel. The MOMA hotel is generally very clean in the front for your way when used when you step in to this our Schomann well guarded with security guards to keep it safe The staff here is very nice and also really into it tough. We got to our destination room where we were staying this is probably what you wanted to know about this hotel in the first place so let’s get to it. When you are getting out of the elevator and walking to your door you have a mild sent of something I don’t know what it is but it sounded smells like food and there is a vending machine where you can get Coke products and there is once you get to your door at first it’s kind of different to use a card to unlock your door to your space where you are staying but once you get inside everything was white white white white white and brown Brown I mean as in the color brown carpet’s and the side paneling on the walls were also kind of a brownish tint when you walk further into the space had two beds and a fridge raider that was supplied for me. We had a good few at the Manhattan skyline on the 11th floor it was generally a pleasant sight my friend told me a lot of what she could see around because I cannot see very well and it was exquisite. The bathrooms were actually clean pretty well we made sure of that because we also cleaned it with Clorox ourselves LOL and the beds were snow white and very probably expensive lemon but you don’t want to mess the bed up LOL and they were hard as rocks these beds were. But overall the stay was good we had a roof over our head and it’s close to restaurants or grocery store and such like that and it was only for a couple days while I was up there for my medical appointment. Do I recommend this hotel know because of these reasons. They take a security deposit from your card and they withhold that security deposit but there is a secondary security deposit that you put down that you that you don’t get back which is $62 which is kind of steep for the perks that they were giving you which they were perks which was very frustrating didn’t know that before I came. Specially if you bought the tickets on a third-party website that doesn’t say oh by the way you have to give them $62 that they keep which is kind of weird but whatever to each their own overall the hotel like I said was good somethings not so but I will like you decide on that. Thank you for reading this review hopefully it...
Read moreThe Nyma The New York Manhattan Hotel canceled my reservation without telling me even though i called twice to confirm and when i booked my room with expedia they said there was no need to confirm my reservation because everything was all set.I called to pay ahead of time they said all i had to do was swipe my card when i got there at the front desk. The second time I called I was on the train letting them know i would be arriving at 3am the lady on the phone said it was fine and they would document it( I was worried and wondered whether I was talking to a robot or a real person that worked at the hotel I was going to). I arrive at the Hotel and am told by the man at the front desk the hotel is having a problem and that I need to go to the hotel across the street and that its 390$.He did not tell me he was going to give me my 415$ back that the hotel was already holding and had taken from my account.
I go across the street and am not able to get a hotel because i dont have an extra 390$.In reality i should be getting a free room at a new hotel if the one I booked is silently kicking me out of theirs because they have no room for me.I walk the streets of NYC crying and decide to go back to the NYMA and DEMAND ! my money back and a ROOM to stay in. The man tells me he put my 415$ back in my account and prints out a receipt and proceeds to tell me that the hotel has no more rooms .So once again he tells me to go across the street.
At this moment I realize I dont have any money in my account even though the hotel gave me my money back because it takes 2 days for my bank to process a hotel transaction. So im going to the hotel across the street hoping for a miracle .My card declines I explain to the man at the other hotel that the nyma just gave me my money back and it wont show up in my account for 2 days .....he says he knows which baffles me and then proceeds to tell me he cant check me in to the hotel unless my card is approved. He suggests hotels that take cash .....I aint got enough cash on me to get a hotel all the money was in my bank account.
I go back to the NYMA Hotel the man at the front desk still is not able to help me he shortly looks for hotels that take cash even though thats not gunna help me.He finds nothing and ignores me and proceeds to help other customers. All of this happened between 3am and 5am.At 5am I continued to sit in the Nyma lounge with NO HELP NO COMFORT NO ROOM AND NO SLEEP.By 7am im in the bathroom changing getting ready to leave to start my morning and go to the Bridal trade show...
Read moreWhat a pleasant surprise!! We booked through an agency hoping for the best. We arrived to a cutely decorated lobby to check in. We were a little early so our room wasn't ready - no biggie. The staff directed us to the next floor up where they had a coffee machine with lots of flavors, couches and stools, flat screen tv.... said they'd let us know when our room was ready. Thirty or so minutes later we were checking in. Mirella was so helpful! Helped straighten up a mess with the booking agency and got us taken care of quite quickly. We entered the room which was perfectly clean. Two comfortable double beds with a view south. Clean bathroom. Shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower, plenty of towels, nice duvets on the beds as well as a flat screen tv. No microwave or fridge, but we didn't miss it. Free breakfast on the second floor until 10am which consisted of bagels, doughnuts, cereal, waffles or pancakes, hard boiled eggs, muffins, apples and bananas, coffee, apple and orange juice. Very well done!! They had a staff member nearby keeping things full. The concierge was great. Helped us get where we were going. The rooftop bar on the 17th floor. Loved it!! What an amazing view!! Very cutely decorated, heaters for us cold southerners, happy hour prices are great and Liz the bartender - loved her!! What a great young lady! Great music, great ambience, not one bad thing to say. Housekeeping was great, right there with what we requested. Location was perfect! Empire State Building right next door. We walked to Times Square, Rockefeller center, radio city music hall, trump tower, Penn station, grand central station and is 100 yards from the train station. Many Korean restaurants nearby creating an amazing scent. What a great place. Not one bad thing to say. Price : we went through a booking company by came out to about $130 a night which compares to what their website says. I'll recommend this hotel all day long and hope like holy hell I make it back some day. Excellent job NYMA!! You've earned four fans and I've already...
