First and foremost, I am all about giving people, places, and things a chance. If we can be honest, most of are looking for affordable and comfort. I understand you get what you pay for, however, this experience has been not only disgusting, embarrassing and belittling but HORRIFYING. My husband and I drove from Chicago, wanting to have fun on a budget, but feel comfortable. Upon arriving at the hotel, it wasn’t the most beautiful, but it wasn’t bad (on the OUTSIDE). When I went inside to check in, there was an individual before me who had her reservation canceled, and charged. The thing that was behind the check in, told her that she needed to call the following day and speak to “Sheila” who was responsible for refunds, etc. The individual told the thing behind the counter that she has been calling and nobody answers. He then replied with the worse attitude “I am here and the phone hasn’t rung”. She confirmed the number and it was the same number. I was next to be victimized by this thing. He proceeded to ask me if I was checking in, I said yes. He followed to tell me MY reservation was canceled because they tried charging my card beforehand, and it didn’t go through. However, ON THE AGREEMENT, it states I must pay when I arrive. He then proceeded to answer me in the worst way “I don’t know what you can do but it’s been canceled” then proceeded to help the next person when he was not finished helping me. I then asked him in a nice way (THIS WAS RECORDED ON THEIR CAMERA), “are you okay?” Because he looked annoyed. He then responded with “yes why?” I then told him I felt his attitude was not appropriate and he still hasn’t helped me. Because I am self efficient, I went back into booking.com to book another room at this location (b/c it was the only affordable option that will fit in our plan) and told him that I rebooked. I then asked him again if he was okay, and he proceeded to tell me “we speak aggressive in this country. I don’t know where you’re from but we do it different in this country”. I then became and was going to say more than I did, but my husband came in and calmed me down. As soon as my husband entered the room, the thing behind the desk was laughing and throwing subliminal messages at us. I received my keycard and left to the room. The room itself, was horrible. We have video of the room and it was DISGUSTING. dusty, smelly, mold, and no towels. The bathroom door was broken, there was a huge hole in the wall, the front door wouldn’t close properly. The bedsheets were dirty. My husband laid down, and his face broke up, INSTANTLY. I then broke out under my chin, instantly. The room was suppose to be 2 queens, and one bed was a different size. We then agreed this wasn’t it. We did not want to stay here. We called booking.com and they were trying to contact the hotel to see what was going on, and come down to a resolution. However the hotel was not answering the phone (sounds familiar?). They then sent an email, we were told by booking.com to tell the front desk they sent an email. We arrived back at the hotel, and my husband told them that booking was trying to contact them. The thing behind the desk began laughing, and I walked up and asked what his problem was. (I have all this recorded). He then said “yes we we received the racist email” almost making a joke about it. I then proceeded to ask who the manager was, when would she call and respond, he would not give me an answer until he knew I would not leave without the answer. He then started getting loud and proceeded to put his finger in face. A customer came in to check in, and he proceeded to help him and ignoring me. He finally gave the answers, and I was walking away he was calling me crazy to the customer that came in. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. I am Mexican and this was an African American male who was treating me this way. While we were waiting to leave the hotel, there was a family who waited over 30 minutes to get into their room while it was freezing outside. The people next door to us were having door issues. HORRIBLE.

My stay was unexpectedly extended due to my car breaking down, which left me without transportation or alternatives. Unfortunately, my experience at this property has been not only deeply disappointing but also unsafe, unsanitary, and traumatic. As a pregnant woman, these conditions caused unnecessary stress and health risks for me and my baby. I am requesting: A full refund for all nights of my stay. A complimentary one-week stay at another Wyndham property for the stress and hardship caused. A written apology and assurance that corrective action will be taken immediately. Issues and Concerns 1. False advertising and missing amenities. No decaf coffee was available, which is especially concerning for pregnant or diabetic guests. The property claimed to have been “updated in 2021,” but the current state clearly shows otherwise. 2. Unhygienic and unsafe conditions One of the two queen beds in my room was covered in blood stains and had a large dip in the springs. A tape recorder was found under the mattress. There were Pepsi bottles left in a drawer and a bar of soap in the bathtub, proving the room was not properly cleaned. When requesting an extra blanket, the one provided was infested with bedbugs. During rain, roaches entered the room due to an unsealed threshold at the door. 3. Unsanitary pool and maintenance issues We were looking forward to swimming in the pool, but upon inspection, it was full of dead insects and grubs. The maintenance worker was frequently seen either joking around with front desk staff or walking around with a can of Raid—not maintaining the property. 4. Staff conduct and professionalism At one point, the front desk staff was asleep in their car, leaving guests waiting in the lobby for long periods. My partner was offered prostitutes while trying to relax on the communal terrace. This is wholly inappropriate, unsafe, and unacceptable for any guest. 5. Deposit and inconsistent policies A night worker originally told us we would not need to pay the $75 deposit again if I came down before checkout, as I had left my wallet in my car at the repair shop. Later, another staff member accommodated us in the same room without requiring a deposit. However, when the stay needed to be extended again, a new employee insisted we must pay the $75 again and denied that anyone had ever waived it. The inconsistency was frustrating and unprofessional. Health and Safety Risks As a pregnant woman with anemia, I am especially vulnerable to cold and unclean environments. Being given a bedbug-infested blanket, being exposed to roaches, unsanitary bedding, and unsafe furniture created unacceptable risks for both me and my unborn child. The lack of promised breakfast and coffee options further contributed to this hardship.

We reserved a room on December 2nd through the 4th but ended up leaving on the 3rd because our stay was so bad. Should have known when checking in that there were going to be problems. Were allowed to check in on the app as a feature it offered, and 3 pm was listed as a check in time. When getting to the hotel, we were told that we couldn’t check in until 4 pm. The manager of the hotel even told the guy at the front desk that “we could wait, and that there was no early check in until they were done doing what they needed to do.” So thank God that I didn’t offer to pay for early check in because that would have been money wasted. She wasn’t very welcoming which you would think a hotel manager would be since you are going to be renting a room off of them. Upon getting into our room, I noticed that the toilet paper looked like it had been dropped in the toilet and then just sat back to the side for someone to use. Went back to the office to mention this to her and she just made it sound like I was making things up. Picture included so that you can see what you think for yourself. Other issues with the room that led to our early check out was the room was infested with cockroaches, pictures of that included. The manager didn’t seem to care about that either when it was mentioned that it was the reason we were checking out. She basically just said, “oh well.’ The free internet that was offered as an amenity was basically useless as well. Tried and tried to connect to it but just wouldn’t even though the lobby could use it. When asking about it, we were told that we were just in one of the rooms that had a problem connecting to the modem and that the only thing we could do was go through the process of getting changed to a different room. And that would possibly not even fix the issue. Went down at night to check out and the front door to the lobby was locked even though it is supposed to be open 24 hours. Another couple was sitting in their car waiting for someone to come check them in. Had to call the manager to let them know we were leaving. And the other couple told us they had to call the cops because they had already reserved a three night stay at the hotel and the manager wouldn’t come and check them in, told them to go to another hotel because apparently they got rude with her. Made a statement that the cops even referred to the place as a dump, and I have to agree. We’ve stayed here many times, and I believe this is definitely going to be the last time we stay. We’ll never stay here again, and don’t recommend it to anyone after this stay. Very sad it’s attached to wyndham.

Extremely Disappointing and Unsanitary Stay at The Americana Hotel||||My recent stay at The Americana Hotel was truly one of the worst lodging experiences I've ever had. From unsafe conditions to false advertising and an overall atmosphere of unwelcomeness, nearly every aspect of the stay was unacceptable.||||1. Security and Safety Issues:||The door to my room had a large gap between the bottom of the door and the floor, which compromised privacy and safety. Even more concerning was the door’s locking mechanism the bolts were missing nuts, leaving the lock extremely flimsy and insecure.||||2. False Advertising – No Usable WiFi:||The hotel prominently advertises free WiFi, yet there was no internet access at all. I was told by the front desk that the signal may not reach my room, but I was able to connect both my personal device and the in-room Roku TV to the hotel’s "Americana WiFi" without issue. The problem was the internet itself — the network had no internet connectivity. This made the Roku TV useless as it requires internet access to function. The hotel knowingly misrepresented this amenity and offered a dishonest excuse.||||3. Inaccurate Check-in Information:||Upon arrival, I was told I could check in at 11 a.m. After waiting until that time, the front desk told us check-in was actually at 4 p.m. This kind of miscommunication wasted hours of our time and showed a lack of professionalism and organization.||||4. Unprofessional and Unwelcoming Front Desk Service:||The front desk staff were unfriendly and dismissive throughout our stay. They did not greet us, smile, or make any effort to be hospitable. The tone was cold and at times hostile, particularly when I requested to be in a room closer to my group. I was snapped at and falsely told I had selected the room myself, despite their earlier recommendation.||||5. Hidden Charges:||A $75 security deposit was added at check-in without prior mention on the booking platform or confirmation. This should be transparently disclosed upfront, not presented as a surprise charge at the desk.||||6. Misleading Continental Breakfast Claim:||The advertised "continental breakfast" was nothing more than a small coffee pot on a folding table. The space that was supposedly for guests to enjoy breakfast was filled with old bedding and bed frames, completely unfit and unsanitary for guests.||||7. Unhygienic and Infested Room Conditions:||The worst part of my stay was the appalling condition of the room. Upon lifting the bedding, large roaches crawled out from the pillows and blankets. The bed had bugs, the room smelled foul, and there was trash under the beds. The towels and linens were stained, and the overall cleanliness was nonexistent.||||8. Broken Fixtures and Plumbing Issues:||The bathroom was in disrepair:||||The shower head was positioned so low I had to crouch to use it.||||The tub and wall paint were peeling and damaged.||||The drain plug for the tub was missing.||||The bathroom light didn’t work at all.||||The sink was clogged and emitted a strong odor of decay.||||9. Lack of Basic Supplies and Housekeeping Support:||There was only one bath towel and two hand towels in the room. I requested additional towels and toilet paper on three separate days. Each time, I was told the laundry room key was unavailable. I was only given one towel and three hand towels on the third day of my stay — a completely unacceptable level of service.||||In Summary:||The Americana Hotel failed on virtually every level safety, cleanliness, honesty, and basic hospitality. The conditions were unsanitary and unsafe, and the staff's demeanor contributed to an unwelcoming and stressful environment. I strongly advise others to avoid this property until serious improvements are made. I will also be reporting this experience to the appropriate platforms...

The absolute only thing this motel had going for it was the location... I know all businesses have their bad moments of things that can always be improved but this was downright pitiful... husband booked this a couple of days prior for a road trip to see a comedy show across town... the room wasn't supposed to be charged to our card till we arrived yet it was charged the day before we were even set to check in... when arriving my husband was told he couldn't rent the room (after already being charged to our card) unless he agreed to charge the $75.00 security deposit as well, so he had no choice there either, but was told it would be refunded at checkout.. walked into the room and checked for bed bugs to which we found none, set our things on the bed, changed and left for the show... didn't arrive back till midnight only to realize how nasty our room actually was... the floor itself was crunchy from dirt or whatever else was there, 1 bath towel and 1 bath mat and 2 handtowels were all that was provided in the room to bathe with, there were cigarette burns on the tub itself, no phone to call down to the desk and when using your personal phone to call they wouldn't answer the phone so you had to go down to the desk to complain, so much dust around and in the ventilation system in the bathroom, the dust and dirt built up in the corners of the bathroom was unreal, the shower head poured out the side as well so the water was just pouring in the floor, the ac vent was completely busted, the TV was snowy... when my husband went to the desk they informed him that they didn't have another room available and since we have technically been checked in for hours (even though we were out at a comedy club) that they could not do a refund or switch our room but did offer to give him more towels... fast forward to the next morning after getting no sleep bc the bed was broken on the edges and the only way to not feel like you were falling was to sleep right in the middle in a lump right on top of each other, we get up to see a roach running across the floor as the maid just opens the door on us bc she's trying to clean the room already... she apologizes and walks out while we are frantically searching the room and our one bag for roaches... no more to be seen but one was more than enough... we did however see a strip going up the doorway on the backside that looked to be covered in roach poop and a bandaid over the peep hole... and yes I did take pictures of ALL of these things especially since the staff didn't seem concerned with any of it at all, not during our stay or even upon checkout, all we could get told is we would have to call management one day this week and that our security deposit would be refunded back to our card as we were checked out (which has yet to happen but I also know it usually takes 3-7 days)... using the Wyndham franchise I really thought this would be a better option but this was at the least very...
