The wait was HORRIBLE! Honestly regret going. They keep getting your hopes up that it’s close, just to ruin all hope, over and over and over.
When you go in, you scan your ticket and they send you right in! (It’s a false sense of hope- it will be a LONG time before you get to the show) you go into a waiting room and you watch a video. When the video ends, the lights flicker a bit and the screen says “stand by” (so you assume that the line is about to start moving-that the show is about to start). WRONG. It does that over and over and over again. It was painfully boring. You could barely listen because everyone was talking because it was THAT BORING!!! So that goes on for 15 minutes (the video starting and stopping- a false sense of hope).
Then FINALLY the doors open and there is movement. JUST TO GET SHUT OUT BEFORE WE CAN GO IN. so there you are again- waiting and waiting. Watching the same BORRRRINGGGG video. Everyone started sitting on the ground (even the sweet ederly couple in front of me- they broke my heart… they were truly in a lot of pain from waiting so long.) so after what seems like FOREVER waiting, it is FINALLY our turn.
We walk into another room- GUESS WHAT- MOREEEEEE VIDEOOOOOSS! I could have screamed by that point. That was so upsetting. The videos are pointless. I would rather just read facts and learn something for a few minutes than watch some cringy video that you can barely understand about some stupid Time Machine. It wasn’t funny. It was honestly maddening. So we were there for another 10 minutes it seemed. And as soon as those doors start to open, the crew person who was directing us, let a huge group at the BACK of the line go in front of all of us and sit them in the middle seats. (I guess so they could sit together- but it just pissed EVERYONE off that was in front of them. She kept saying “they are all front row seats”- but I know I didn’t like my seat in the very bottom in the corner….
So it seems that the end is in sight when those next set of doors finally open NOPEEEEE. Get ready for ANOTHER set of videos. By this point, people were audibly displeased. Then FINALLY those stupid cringy charecters finally said “bye” and we all said hallelujah.
JUST FOR THEM TO PLAY THE NEXTTTT FREAKIBG VIDEO!!!! This one was about safety. The ONLY video that had useful information but we were all so pissed we didn’t listen!!
I have waited in MUCH longer lines before. However, what made this line excruciatingly painful to stand in was the false sense of being at the front of the line. You get to “walk right in”. You watch a little video that seems like it keeps ending- nope it goes on for 30 minutes. Then you get to the next room (you think you are finally there) nope another stupid video time. Just to go to another room for MORE VIDEOS.
Please don’t waste your time and money. I was so annoyed that I barely enjoyed...
Read moreMy wife and I visited the SkyFly attraction today for the first time. Having never been here I read the reviews, all of them, prior to leaving home. That being said, based on some of the things I read, I set my expectations low and decided to try and identify all the negative things I had read. I’ll start at the entrance and work my way through the exit. I read several comments regarding the price of the attraction versus how long the actual ride last. I think folks forget that the “filler” pryor to the actual ride is also part of the overall attraction. There was no one in line when we arrived yet we still took time to enjoy all of the memorabilia that lined the walls and we both found the videos quite entertaining and humorous! Going back to the price I must admit, I’m a local, grew up in this county and I’m also self employed. I mention my employment status because I don’t think folks recognize the full meaning of the single word overhead. I could take the time to explain it but I would loose 99% of my audience before I got through all the insurances required, not to mention permits, fees, lease agreements for the property, building maintenance, labor, (which is extremely hard to find), payroll, payroll taxes…………….The one thing everyone probably understands is at the end of the day, the owners hope to make a profit! Moving on, we did find the ride itself extremely awesome and beautiful! I actually lifted my legs when we dropped down to the racetrack! I will concede one thing I read in some of the reviews, the actual ride is in fact six minutes long. It wouldn’t have offended me if it was a minute longer or shorter. Again, I think the overall time of the whole attraction was perfect. We were there for about 30 minutes which for me personally is perfect. As we exited we were given the opportunity to purchase pictures and we did and then, as always at attractions, we walked through the gift shop to the exit. I read one comment labeling the gift shop as small. I would have used the word quaint but that doesn’t really matter. Based on limited space I understand why the gift shop is small. I understand the pictures and gift shop items are probably a huge part of the company’s profit. Lastly, I read several reviews about staff being rude. I think I spoke to everyone that was accessible looking for at least one rude employee and my hopes and dreams were once again dashed. Everyone that spoke to me was pleasant, polite, well spoken and neat in appearance. I think that sums up our overall experience. She and I both enjoyed it so much that we came across the street to Fin’s to have a drink or two while I wrote this review. Now we’re going back to ride it again. Maybe this time, if Fin’s did their job correctly, the screen will be fuzzy! I would definitely recommend...
Read moreMy parents & I LOVE this ride! My mom is not a big ride person at all, but she is obsessed with this! The 3 of us rode it on Thanksgiving day in 2023 & fell so in love with it, we came back for a 2nd ride the same day! My mom & I were back at The Island a couple weeks ago & couldn't resist! My dad was totally jealous! This time, they added more places to the experience, which made it even more exciting! I have sat on both the front & middle rows, so I can attest that they're right when they say it's all a front row seat & it truly doesn't matter where you sit! (If you haven't been there, it rotates before the ride starts so the floor turns into the back wall & the 3 rows are stacked on top of each other. I don't necessarily like the initial takeoff, since I have a weak stomach, but it's really not that bad & only lasts a second or 2. Then it's a nice, smooth, easygoing ride... though they make you feel like you're about to kick some bikers' heads, crash into mountains, etc. That's part of the charm & some of the most fun parts! It's so cool how you can see the little details of the natural formations, the native animals, & the people visiting these places! My favorite parts are the extra-sensory parts, but I don't want to say too much for those who haven't ridden yet! The views are beautiful & the ride is enjoyable for kids, adults, seniors, thrill-seekers, people who only like calm rides, & even those who don't usually do rides! It is definitely for everyone! Also, my mom has always ridden her scooter into there & they are great about taking us through a slightly different entrance to avoid extra twists & turns. (There are ramps you have to turn on, so larger scooters/wheelchairs do require multi-point turns to maneuver through.) Then they reserve us seats on the end of the row of our choosing, so she can scoot right up to the exit to park her scooter. There are large basket-like compartments under the seats on the ride for purses, hats, & souvenirs. The only thing I would change would be to shorten the video crap at the beginning before the actual ride. The steampunk inventor dude & his daughter kind of talk & goof off forever & a day. It's cute at first, then a little annoying because you just want to get to the ride! LOL! They are pretty...
