In January when setting up the necessary resting places for our trip from Maine to Texas. this was a much needed vacation for some overworked healthcare workers and there family that misses them. Knowing we were traveling with children and large family, I had some boxes to check . They advertised that they had an indoor pool, hot tub, and even a lazy river. They also advertised that they serve a buffet style breakfast. The website shows that they have a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen. This seemed to check all our boxes. Upon arriving and entering the room it was definitely not as pictured. When you first walk in the bed is right there , with a kitchen table on one side and a sofa on the other side, the next room has 2 more beds and the bathroom. Even though the picture lead to believe the bedrooms are both separate it was doable. We had drive 9 hours so we just want to eat and sleep. At this point is when we discovered that the TV did have a remote, the staff gave us one and said we would need to program it to the TV. We went to find something to eat, When we return some of our party decided we would go find a the pool. Following signs down to what seemed to be the dungeon. The smell was so strong of mildew. The pool area had so much standing water around the pools and the hot tub looked like it was growing a science experiment. We all agreed that people shouldn’t be swimming in the pool. In the morning we went looking for the breakfast room. Definitely didn’t find it but did follow sign that claimed to lead to it but ended up in a hallway that was picked right out of the shinning. We were than informed that they have stopped serving breakfast but yet it is still advertised when you book a room. I believe that falls under false advertisement. We ventured out for our day and when coming back the 2 gentleman at the front desk were pleasant . Looking back this is the only positive thing I can say. We settled in for the night only to be abruptly awoken by a blaring fire alarm at midnight. As wrong as what I am about to say sounds I ignored it as it had done this earlier in the day as well as the staff indicated that they had to do testing on the alarm. But when it did it again and again, I got up and went to the lobby where there were many others gathering and complaining. The staff seemed unsure what to do. The alarm went of a few more times while we were out there. One of the guest said he had enough and called the fire marshal. The front staff disappeared still not sure where he went. The fire chief said that he had 4 trouble alarms showing in the system but that the rest of the information had been cleared already by staff so the firefighters all searched the building. Good news didn’t find an active fire and reset the system completely. We all went back to our rooms it is now about 2a. Just as we are all about to go back to sleep the alarm goes off again. This time there are even more of us in the lobby. More fire trucks, police, Fire Marshall . We were told that there was no active fire but that to stop the alarm they would have to keep the elevators from working until they could figure out why it was triggering. The hotel is under major construction and leads to concern if people should even be occupying the premises. We were told that it was under new management and that he was on his way several time last night, at no point...

Absolutely Horrifying Experience – Avoid at All Costs

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. What my girlfriend and I went through here was not only outrageous—it was downright disrespectful and disturbing.

We booked a stay for Sunday night into Monday morning in Pigeon Forge, as we were attending my sister’s wedding on Monday. From the moment we arrived, it was problem after problem. Check-in was disorganized and frustrating, despite having a confirmed reservation. Once we got to our room, we immediately noticed the light was flickering, the switch was broken, and parts of the room clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned.

We tried to overlook it because we were exhausted and had a big day ahead. But then we went to the pool—filthy. The floors were covered in standing water and dirt with no visible drainage system. The entire area was unsanitary and unpleasant.

Still, we tried to make the best of it… until the next morning. I woke up to a bed bug crawling on the bed. I immediately caught it, placed it in a cup, and brought it downstairs to show the hotel staff. The front desk person confirmed it looked like a bed bug—but told me there was no manager on site. I was told to contact the manager through the third-party booking platform.

Despite multiple calls and requests, no one ever followed up. I was told the owner/manager would contact me. He didn’t. I was told he would be in the next day. He wasn’t. I’ve reached out repeatedly and have received nothing but silence and runaround. Finally, today, the third-party booking site informed me that the manager is refusing to issue a refund—with no explanation whatsoever.

Let me be clear: I have photos and physical proof of the bed bug. I have experience in the cleaning industry. I know exactly what bed bugs look like, and I took immediate action to prevent bringing them home—washing and steaming all my belongings, costing me more time, stress, and money.

We left as soon as we discovered the bug. I didn’t even get to eat breakfast. I spent the morning—my sister’s wedding day—dealing with a pest infestation and completely mentally fried.

This place is not just dirty—it’s negligent. The lack of accountability, the horrible communication, and the utter disrespect we were shown is inexcusable. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

And to top it off—today, I called the hotel again to speak to the manager. I told the person on the phone that I was the woman who had requested to speak to the manager when I was physically on-site. They hung up on me. When I called back—over 10 times—someone would answer the phone, immediately place me on hold, and leave me there for minutes. No greeting. No conversation. No effort to help. Just silence and deliberate avoidance.

Do not stay here. Ever. What happened to us was more than just a bad stay—it was an infuriating and disgusting experience that no paying guest should have...

We stayed her for a 3 day weekend during my sons wrestling tournament. I have stayed at this hotel eve try visit since I was 9 years old. I’m 25 now, this place used to be great. It was absolutely awful this time My family won’t be back. The pictures online do not meet the reality. When we got to our room the first thing we noticed was the smell. We are on the 6th floor my son kept comparing it to stale Cheeto dust. There are no longer phones in the room, the only way to get ahold of the desk is calling on your cellphone ,but they won’t answer. We went to the pools apparently they had a gas leak so the heated pools weren’t heated at all. Not to mention the staff NEVER checked on the pool area so there were PUDDLES of water everywhere that we slipped in every time we went to the pools. I myself had to squeegee the water because it’s an all concrete floor and I was scared for my 10 & 3 year old. No housekeeping or towels at all you have to continuously do house keeping’s job as they do not come to your room unless you request. So that means gathering all your garbage and laundry to leave out by the door which isn’t sanitary by any means. And running to the lobby to get towels 3+ times a day. They used to have free laundry and game room now both cost money. When we got back from our first visit from the coldest heated pools ever, we noticed our bathtub leaked. I took my glasses off and hopped in the shower only to notice MULTIPLE SPOTS OF DRIED BLOOD all over my shower curtain which is a health hazard because some blood borne pathogens can still be transmitted through dried blood. I had to get out of the shower and run to the lobby to complain. I had no clue how house keeping missed such a thing. Not to my surprise when I went down to complain there was a gentlemen complaining that his room was destroyed, not vacuumed, the carpet ripped up with staples sticking out of it, and his smoke detectors were covered with bags so clearly house keeping is not up to standard. They gave me a new curtain that I had to replace myself. Our Tv also was super fuzzy on the sound you can only watch TV if you have subscriptions to Netflix or some other app. Lastly is the vending machines over charge you if you use a card, my son wanted a butterfinger so I sent him with my Cash Card not realizing it was locked he and his dad swiped it to buy a $2.50 Butterfinger, luckily my card was locked because it tried to charge me $10 for that candy bar. The water was the same price $2.50 and it charged my husbands card $5. We were never offered a new room, never apologized to, not a discount for all the trouble nothing. Complete night and day to how the place used to be. Definitely lost our business...

I chose this hotel because of the location in the heart of Pigeon Forge, the price was reasonable, and they have not only an indoor pool but also a lazy river. Online photos showed the hotel as dated, Choice Hotels didn’t have great ratings, but I assumed it was a recent acquirement of the Choice family and it just hadn’t had many reviews. The lobby is renovated nicely with the chandelier and LED lights down the main hall. The only accessible by two dimly lit floor levels of stairs (4 actual stair cases, into what one would think is a basement) indoor pool area and lazy river were not. I seriously started to wonder if there WAS a pool and lazy river for the amount of time it took us to get to it and how sketchy it was. A rusted, creepy “authorized personal” door on the way gave less “family fun” vibes and more “fallout shelter” ones. Inside the pool area is also dimly lit. The pool was ice cold, the lazy river was warmer but the steps into it had large chunks of concrete missing. Also no inner tubes for the lazy river despite being in the promotional photos. Disappointing, but a very nice fellow patron let my son borrow one of hers that she bought for her grandkids to use. (I did go to the front desk on the way back to my room to inquire about inner tubes, they seemed surprised there weren’t any down there (two floors below the lobby, remember) and said they’d take some down.) There is an elevator right by the pool entrance, but it is out of order making the pool area inaccessible to those with physical disabilities even though they had a handicap pool chair at the pool itself. I guess you have to come in from the parking lot to the accessible entrance? Our room was on a floor that had “please excuse our mess while we renovate to better serve you” signs, but did not seem renovated. Curtains were torn off the track, light fixture was missing/broken, carpet was stained/marked (see iron print in photos), there was a rogue contact lens by the sink counter stuck to the floor from a previous guest as well as a paper wristband behind the toilet/shower door almost as if housekeeping didn’t check behind the door when cleaning. We had a King size room, the bed had three mini pillows. Sad looking to be sure. Balcony seemed nice, but no privacy from other guests. Building layout is super obscure, numbers on the rooms don’t follow the typical evens on one side and odds on the other. Many twists and turns through the halls and only the central elevator in service. There was no housekeeping service during our stay (2 nights), there was some kind of stain in our bathroom on the wall, and my mother found a bug in her room on checkout morning.

WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT So let’s start with the room: first then when we get in the room it smelled like someone urinated on the floor and no one cleaned it, carpet is dirty and stained, the knob for the deadbolt was missing, nightstand was broken and leaning against the bed, the shower only seems to have two water temperatures scalding hot or super cold, half the lights in the room don’t work, AC takes forever to cool the room and even then still doesn’t get too cold. Now the common areas: no ice machines at all working, hallways are either too bright from all those cheap LED lights strips they cut into the wall and placed or dark because the lights have been ripped out of the walls and wires are hanging out of them (electrocution hazard), carpet is stained black or has bleached strains, large missing patches of carpet, and they have some overpowering deodorizing spray coming out of the air vents to likely mask the stench in the halls, only two elevators in the entire building work all the others are broken, door numbers are pieces of paper with number written on them taped on many of the doors, there are numerous holes and gashes in the walls and on the doors, people are sitting on the steps right next to the elevator smoking cigarettes and marijuana with fills the room with smoke on the 2nd floor rear entrance to the hotel. Pools: Hot tub doesn’t work and is freezing cold, lazy river is warm and works but there are only 2 cheap floats to use, main pool is freezing cold just like the hot tub and has a broken pool light with wires hanging out of it (hope no one turns on the power to it or cuts themself on it), pool bathrooms have gong holes in the walls and tiles laying broken on the floor(great way to cut yourself while walking barefoot). Breakfast: Says they have it…. They don’t. Wouldn’t trust eating it anyway if they did with the condition of everything else. Lobby is the only decent looking part of the hotel. If they took as much pride in the rest of the hotel as they did the lobby it might be a decent place but instead I looks like the place was abandoned years ago and the crackheads came in and started stripling the lights out for copper. I made a mistake making a last minute reservation here based on location to local attractions and using the Choice Hotels app. I really should have looked at the reviews first and foremost because I can say without a doubt this is the worst hotel I’ve ever had the misfortune of staying at. Never would I recommend this place to anyone even on a budget. You’re better off just sleeping in a tent outside the hotel.

Title: “Checked In… Almost Checked Out of Life” I don’t even know how to start this review. I guess I’ll begin by saying… STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! My family and I were on a road trip and had already stayed at four different hotels with zero issues. Then we arrived here. The moment we walked into the lobby, we were hit by a strong wave of what I can only describe as “Febreze trying to cover a crime.” It was so obvious they were hiding something. The lobby looked bright enough, but something felt off. We got in the elevator — which looked like it had survived several wars — and it started making noises I’ve only heard in disaster movies. Thankfully, we were on the second floor, so if it fell, at least it wouldn’t be a long drop. The hallway carpet looked like it had been through centuries of bad decisions. Stains everywhere, and the smell? Imagine old socks and sadness. But the real horror started when we opened the door to our room. It felt like walking into an episode of The First 48. The smell hit us so hard one of my kids started gagging. The carpet was stained, moldy, and probably alive. The couch looked like it came straight from a dumpster and had a mysterious collection of “gizmo” stains (we didn’t want to know). The smaller couch? Let’s just say it looked like a body had decomposed in it and merged with the furniture. I immediately said: “Shoes stay on, don’t unpack, and touch nothing.” One bed had blood stains. The other looked like the sheets hadn’t been changed since the last century. There were weird stains on the walls that… let’s just say, weren’t paint. Dirty towels on the bathroom floor, mold, tiny bugs—basically, a biology experiment. The kids wanted to check out the pool, so we went down some sketchy stairs that seemed to descend straight to the center of the Earth. When we finally reached the pool, two guys down there looked at us like we’d interrupted a drug deal. The whole area was filthy and falling apart. The “recreation room” looked like it had been abandoned since the ‘90s. We really tried to convince ourselves to stay one night, but between the itchy feeling, the allergy attacks, and the fear of catching something, we were like—HELL NAH. I get that people are trying to make money, but this place shouldn’t even be open. The positive reviews have to be fake—or written by people who lost their sense of smell years ago. We ended up driving to Knoxville (about 45 minutes to an hour away) and found a hotel that was cleaner, cheaper, and didn’t make us question our life choices. Totally worth the drive.
