We came for Old Time Photos... We got some great old time photos.
DIRECTIONAL INFO: it's best to go in off "Old Mill Rd", [which has an Easy-in entrance right before the traffic light at the parkway] because the parking lot is set up for 45° parking. We went in from "The Parkway" putting us at a disadvantage for parking and meeting inbound traffic from "Old Mill" head on. (we should have turned left into the parking area after turning in from "Parkway")
After parking... and going in, we were greeted by a man named Dewayne and a woman, whose name I'm failing to recall...(I'm horrible with names).
Anyway... they informed us that it was going to cost: (don't quote me, all $ amounts are based on my memory and I'm running on fumes)...
$10/person dressing fee,
$25/photo, for black/white
$30/photo, color print... [not really "old time" if it is in color, is it??]
$5 or $6 Cardboard Photo frames, ie: "Wanted dead or Alive", "Sharp Shooters*,etc, etc..
$25-ish ? or $30-ish ? Fancy Wooden Frame.
Overall Experience: Dewayne was our photographer. He did an excellent job getting us geared up and posing us. He was very polite and professional, also, very helpful afterward when we were choosing our final keepers, he showed us all the photos, border options, lighting effects that could be added. as well as the different combinations of photo sheets ranging from (sheet of wallet size), up to (single 8x10s) and a few variations in between. He also showed us frames that could be purchased, ranging from $5 or $6 cardboard frames, to $25ish or $30ish wooden frames that were super nice and fancy. ((again pulling these numbers from memory))
i had to drop a star, because the website said there were 5 scenes to choose from and when we arrived we were only given the option of 2. With that said, it all worked out...
Read moreWe didn’t love this experience. We went in hoping for a 20s style shoot and the photographer told us to go down to the main studio where they had the 20s set and costumes. The atmosphere was lively and friendly at the first location. When we walked into the “main” location a few doors down, the man seemed grumpy that we were there. This is our tradition and our very first one with our 9month old daughter. After I was handed the costume for my daughter, I asked to do a different background because the costume was too big, the straps were just hanging all over her and I was second guessing it. He quickly let us know that we’d have to pay for another sitting because we had already been given costumes for that one. (Understandable) This is the first time we have been charged a “sitting fee” but his delivery of this company standard was not remotely friendly. We took the pictures, it was fine. But everything was so rushed. We were literally the only people there. I wanted to take just a beat to look at all of the photos a little closer and before I could be sure of the one I wanted it was already being printed. The shadow on my face in the family photo makes me look like I’m missing teeth!! (Which is something I would have noticed if I wasn’t feeling so pressured and rushed) In the end, we paid $90 for 2 photos that we think are just ok. We love this tradition and will use this to learn what to look for when choosing where to take the photos and who’s sitting fee...
Read moreWhen my family and I walked in, the atmosphere was tense. The guy and lady barely wanted to speak. I asked if he was okay. I don't spend money where I'm not appreciated. It kinda seemed as if we walked into a middle of an argument. The only reason we proceeded on was our two girls who were extremely excited about taking the pictures. My hubby said this is how people are down here. Neither the man or woman opened up the gate that lead into the dressing area. He already started picking out my dress, back turned from us, when he said "y'all come on back here". The lady came back to help my husband get dress. By the time my girls and I were dress the guy was gone and the lady had changed her attitude. She was now pleasant. We had fun taking our pics. After we paid for the pictures and sat in the car to review photos, we noticed both employees come outside to smoke a cigarette. We will definitely go back to take more Old Time pictures but it will not be as this place. 3475 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863 you are correct there isn't a gate, it's a rope I had to unhook myself. Here are our pics. Also there was a second lady that showed up as we were leaving. She took care of the second group. We took a picture by your spittin bars scene. I'm trying to find how to post the pic. We also didn't receive our 8*10 free...
