Today, I had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant. My family and I were on vacation and had visited this establishment on Sunday evening, where we enjoyed exceptional service and food that made my kids eager to return before we left. We even ordered DoorDash from there while at the hotel. However, today, we encountered an incredibly rude and unprofessional manager, whom I believe is named Monica (a name reluctantly provided by our waiter).
The issues began when I called to address missing items from our DoorDash order. Monica was dismissive and seemed to accuse me of lying, insisting we would have to wait for the manager on duty to verify the situation. When I asked what time she would arrive, I was told it would be in the afternoon. We decided to wait and visit for another family meal.
Upon our arrival, Monica confirmed she had spoken to the manager and acknowledged that the items were not given to the DoorDash driver and that they would replace them. My family proceeded to order food, and my dad chose the French toast special for $6, requesting an extra piece of toast. The rest of the meal was enjoyable, with drinks constantly refilled and our server being attentive.
When the check arrived, I noticed that the extra piece of toast cost more than the entire meal. I asked if it could be rung up as the meal instead. The server seemed unsure and went to get the manager. When she approached, I explained my request, but she insisted they couldn't change it because we "already ate." I inquired further about the reasoning, and she shifted the blame to us, saying we had the menu with the prices in front of us. I asked her to point out where it indicated the cost of a single piece of French toast she said it doesnt and then she yelled, "Did you ask him?" effectively placing the blame back on us for not inquiring. I then asked again what the big deal was and that it's silly to have it cost more then the meal to which she responded because it's on a special..she then said she could debate me all day and that they aren't going to change it.
I explained once again that it felt unreasonable to be charged more for something when the meal itself was only $6. As tensions rose, she became increasingly aggressive, putting her hands in my face and creating a scene. I expressed that I didn't even care about the bacon and eggs anymore but found it unfair to be charged more for the toast than the entire meal. In frustration, she snatched the check, said, "Fine," and stormed off, crumpling the check and cursing. Other guests looked on in disbelief, unable to comprehend her behavior, especially in front of young children.
Having worked in fast food, restaurants, and customer care, I want to emphasize that I wasn't asking for anything to be comped or requesting a different meal. I simply wanted to discuss the pricing of the extra toast, which I thought was a reasonable request. I even tipped the waiter over 20 percent and my kids stacked plates and cleaned the table as much as they could. To have been treated like this was just insane. In a town like pigeon forge, there is one on every corner! Why open a big chain breakfast place here?! This is why. Because someone who knows how to run a restaurant was up for the challenge.
This ihop has a gift shop. Smart. Prices in there are a little high for stuffed animals but the other trinkets seemed reasonable. My son loved checking out all the toys!
We were greeted by three different employees And sat immediately. Our waiter was Maxwell (I believe) and he was amazing. He was so friendly, had the greatest calming tone to his voice and was GREAT with our kids. This says alot to me about his character. Our drinks (including a milkshake) came out in minutes. We ordered food and had all 4 meals at the table in about 10 minutes. Manager came and checked on us. Maxwell kept our drinks full and was so pleasant.
We had Cinnabon crepes, cheese omelet, hash brown, Mac and cheese, steak omelet (without steak), fried potatoes, coffee, water, and a strawberry milkshake. Everything was cooked perfectly.
Additionally, the entire establishment was so clean! Everyone’s uniforms were spotless and at the level of professional I’d expect at a fancy eatery. I also overheard a different server say as she brought a full table of entrees “I have the memory of dory from finding Nemo. I’ll need you’re help with who got what.” I nearly choked on my crepe.
I did visit the bathroom and it was very clean.
I cannot say enough how perfect this visit was. Menu has expanded to include many options for everyone. Healthy? Vegetarian? Meat substitute? They’ve got it. Only negative, the vegetarian sausage isn’t good. Maybe change brands. There are plenty of tastier options out there.
If you are looking for breakfast in pigeon forge, come to this ihop! Plus, they don’t close at 2pm like everyone else!!!

About 40 minutes after placing our order I asked the server and says it's busy but it will be here soon. Another fifteen minutes go by and I ask again because I've now noticed several tables seated after us have gotten their orders. He says the same thing but adds this time it isn't his fault that it's just busy and it's coming soon. A few more minutes pass and I see him bringing food so I'm finally relieved yet he walks by our table and takes it to the table behind us that had been seated no more than fifteen minutes. I call him over and ask him what's going on with our order because everyone around us has gotten there order and it's now been over an hour. He tells us the same nonsense again that it isn't his fault and it's on the way. At this point I'm frustrated and tell him he needs to either go check or get some help with it. He finally gets someone else involved (perhaps a manger I'm not sure). She comes to us a few minutes later and apologized saying our ticket wasn't put in. We finally get our order which was delivered by yet someone else.
