If I could less than 0 stars I would this place was TERRIBLE!!!! Visited this establishment for a birthday dinner had originally picked The Peddlers but how we was dressed for the occasion I felt try to find something a bit more upscale so this was the pick. When the server first approached us he was very polite. However he mentioned he would get a plates for our experience. We went to the salad bar which was awful but that was to be expected for some odd reason these places don’t realize if you got a good salad bar people will eat & get fuller faster so tables can be turned quicker. Anyways we went to the salad bar came back no plates so for a min I was confused but I just grabbed plates from the salad bar. I ordered a cocktail needed bar straws just wasn’t going to drink from the glass but my server wasn’t present so I had a drink that just sitting get hot that was my first red flag. We was offered sausage chicken & top sirloin & pork chop in the beginning. After the 1st offers then we became invisible. There was no one offering us food I seen a lady walk past me with chicken but she never offered. Man comes out & offers us top sirloin but we didn’t want that. Next thing you know my partners birthday cheesecake was placed on the table but we was hungry she didn’t want it then. So then her cheesecake was sitting on the table getting hot. I finally just got up & went to the hostess stand and asked for a manager. I seen a woman with very short pants on talking to a man. She came out & approached me said she was the associate manager that the manager had something else going on at the moment. I spoke with her told her our experience & we was ready to so she could address it. She apologized said it happens every day now they was extremely short handed and everyday there’s a table that’s not happy because it’s been ignored. After we talk she comes to our table with the bill. Do remind you we had one trip to the salad bar where I picked around my plate didn’t like anything on it really. The Associate manager came back to the table with our ticket and our ticket was $103 she then proceeds to tell us how the manager said he had talked to us multiple times and everyone offered us food. So & this point she is calling us liars. So I told her that we hadn’t spoke to anyone but can she have him to come to our table. I also asked her to write down the store managers name & the corporate office number. So she went to the back then manger comes out to the table. I spoke 2 him & I told him that he must have had us mistaken because we haven’t spoke. Then to say he spoke to us multiple times this man barely knows English so we definitely would have remembered talking to him… So no sir you just told that lie that we don’t appreciate. So he proceeds to say he was going to fix our ticket. Then he leaves & is gone forever. So then the server comes with a new bill $103. I told him that was the same bill I already had. I asked him to go get the information from the associate manager. He was been super extra asking what we wanted was it another discount because our bill was really cheap lol. We told him no she was supposed to bring us something. He finally goes & get her she comes out with a paper & some numbers I had to ask her who the numbers belonged to and she wrote down names finally. The server asked for tips on how to make it better there I told him check on your tables more to make sure they’re eating we came in hungry we’re leaving hungry. Our ticket was never adjusted that was a lie the manager took so long because he was trying to figure out how to do our ticket but in the end he sent the same total smh. This was again my partners birthday & the managers playing around. This place needs a stronger management team the lady that spoke with me was to weak the manager guy you can’t understand nothing he’s saying and apparently he barely understood us!!!!!! Poor service all way across the board. How did we pay $103 with no food. We had terrible service the whole night was terrible and it was a celebration. Do NOT visit...
Read moreWe are in town for our 25th wedding anniversary. We decided this looked like a wonderful place to have an anniversary dinner...very upscale, great reviews and close to our hotel. I went on the website and made a reservation for 10 pm (they had reservations as late as 10:15 pm. We arrived at 930, and told the hostess we were early. Since they weren't very busy she said they could seat us in about 5 minutes. After being seated, we waited 10 minutes for the waiter to finally come to our table. He explained the token, took our drink order, amd told us he would bring out sides and we could go ahead to the salad bar and hot bar. When we got back from the bars, we waited another 10 minutes to get our drinks, this was the last time we would see this waiter. By this time they had began coming around with the different types of meats. 15 more minutes went by and we finally asked another staff about our sides, which she went and got for us. When we first arrived we had several staff come by with meat (which is basically the whole meal amd reason you go). After we received our sides, when the staff came out with meat offerings, they would stop at the two tables at the front of the restaurant, and not even come to our table (we were table 3 of 4, seated st the very back). We finally had to ask a waiter if we could please get more meat offerings since when they came to the dining room, they would only offer the first two tables then return to the kitchen. Although we paid for the "full experience" (most expensive and included 16 meats) we were only offered about 10 since the staff would return to the kitchen without visiting our table. There are several we would've enjoyed trying but we couldn't even get refills on our drinks, and we had asked already about having the staff bringing meats to our table and it still didn't happen. I did ask another waiter for our celebration desert for our anniversary since I feel like I paid a lot of money for service that was not delivered. We got our dessert to go, and left but not before paying a $130 and some change, bill, ad still leaving a $23 tip for very poor service and incomplete meal.
Moral of the story, although they offer 10 pm and later reservations (and we were sat around 930 due to not being busy), they do not offer service at those times. We saw our waiter once when we first got there, then spent the rest of the time flagging down other staff members for refills on meat, sides, and drinks, and then had to remind another waiter about our celebration dessert. The food was good but the experience was not. If they don't want to offer service that late, they should not offer reservations that late either. I've received better service at Hatfield and McCoys, and for the same price got all I could eat plus a show. At Gaucho I had to work for my food. Disappointing considering we came here based off the top notch reviews. I guess those who reviewed...
Read moreWe came here on a Friday night. My husband was able to make a reservation that afternoon. I was pretty taken aback by how many people were in the restaurant!! It admittedly was big but was also packed with people! The tables were atleast 6 feet away from each other but just the sheer number of people in there increased the risk of catching Covid if someone was infected! Anyway, for the salad bar they had very painstakingly individually packed all the items into small portions to decrease contact. We don't eat pork but still had plenty of options. My favorite cuts were the top sirloin, rib eye and picanha with garlic! The leg of lamb was nice and moist but not as tasty as the beef cuts! The bottom sirloin was tough and dry and so I avoided that later. The pineapple was delicious! Deliciously sweet! As for the salad bar my favorites were the shrimp pasta salad, potato salad and steamed veggies. Although they brought us the plantains ( which were too sweet for me, tasted like fried, sweetened bananas! ) and mashed potato ( didn't try ) what I really wanted was the yuca. This came out after a long time and was a very small serving though, just three pieces! But it reminded me of the yuca back home in Kenya! Totally legit! Darn, I forgot to mention how frikkin good the cheese bread was! I really wanted more but didn't ask for it because I knew we wouldn't be able to finish it. I just noticed on their site that they have beef ribs listed but no waiter brought them to our table? Oh and I did try the teriyaki chicken which was good. My husband had the chicken legs but said they were a bit dry. I didn't have it because I've learnt that chicken at Brazilian steakhouses is usually dry unless it's sauced like the teriyaki one! I would have loved dessert but was too full! They had a huge piece of driftwood that they had decorated with orchid stems that I loved! They also had a piece of art on the wall shaped like Brazil that was gorgeous but I wish it hadn't been above a table because I couldn't really appreciate it without it being weird for the guests seated there! I hope they have moved it to a better position next...
