We stumbled upon this amazing little cat house today! We were greeted by a precious fluffy cat who loves attention! Inside there were 3 more cats we spotted but it was nap time and I couldn’t bring myself to disturb them. They were perched by the window looking outside and living their best cat lives. We’ve been missing our two cats that are at home so this was the perfect store to visit to get some cat time in. We also bought our cats some awesome locally handmade cat nip toys that we can’t wait to show our cats when we get back home. You can smell the cat nip in the toys which hasn’t been our experience when we’ve purchased similar toys from chain pet stores.
I almost purchased a coffee mug that had “The Best little cat house in Tennessee” saying on it but I had literally just purchased a coffee mug from a different store so I decided against it. I was sad to find out that the shop didn’t have anything else with this saying on it. I really wanted a T shirt! I likely would have bought a shirt or two for myself along with a few shirts for people back home. I also would have bought a hat and my boyfriend likely would have also depending on the graphics.
The great thing about this store is that the cats were all rescues. We made sure to leave a donation because kitties need help everywhere! It’s easy to over look things like that while on vacation. I’ve only noticed one stray cat while on vacation this time but the poor kitty was living in a hotel parking lot on the main strip. Between tourist, motorist, wildlife, and the elements, this can’t be an easy life for kitties born as strays. It also doesn’t take long for the pattern to repeat meaning one stray kitty can turn into 3-6 kitties fast. So take some time while you’re in Pigeon Forge to visit this unique little shop, pets some adorable kitties and support a great, local cause. We will absolutely be making this shop a must do from now on! I just really hope they get some T-Shirts or other merch in by the next...
Read moreAs someone who owns four cats, I have to say that the Smoky Mountain Cat House is an absolute paradise for cat lovers. This store has everything you could want for your furry feline friends, from cat toys to cat clothing and everything in between.
During my recent visit, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices. We spent around $60 on cat toys and came out with a plethora of items, which was a fantastic value. The store is located in an old turn-of-the-century house in Pigeon Forge, which adds to its charm and uniqueness.
The occasional cat that wanders around the store is well-loved, and you can tell that they are treated like royalty. The shop is an interesting place to visit, even if you're not a cat owner. The space is well-utilized, and you can easily move around without feeling cramped. Each room in the shop has its own theme, and everything is well-organized.
Limited parking is available, so keep that in mind before visiting. However, the quality of the experience is worth any parking headaches. Also, while there are plenty of gift shops for dogs, it was refreshing to see a cat gift shop where I could find unique items that catered to my cats.
Overall, I highly recommend the Smoky Mountain Cat House to any cat lover. The shop is full of charm, personality, and an abundance of cat-related merchandise. It's a delightful place to visit and shop, and I will definitely be returning for more cat toys...
Read moreWe stopped by the Smoky Mountain Cat House thinking it might be a cozy haven filled with cats, but it’s actually a themed gift shop with a strong focus on all things feline. The building itself is small, charming, and packed with character from the moment you step inside.
Inside, you’ll find shelves full of cat-themed items—socks, mugs, jewelry, signs, and other decorative trinkets. It’s clearly designed for cat lovers, with a broad selection of souvenirs and gifts that could make anyone smile. While the shop gives off a very inviting, pet-friendly vibe, don’t expect a full-on cat café experience. We only saw one real cat in the store, and it seemed to be the shop’s resident mascot. That was a bit of a surprise, as we had assumed there might be more interactive cat elements.
The staff was friendly, and the space was clean and well-organized, albeit quite packed due to the sheer volume of merchandise. It’s the kind of place you pop into while strolling through town, especially if you’re a cat enthusiast or looking for a unique gift.
All in all, while it didn’t fully match our expectations in terms of feline presence, we still appreciated the cute setup and theme. If you’re nearby and into cats, it’s worth a...
