We visited this restaurant on a busy day, but the lines moved surprisingly fast. Our waitress, Chelsea, was absolutely spectacular. She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and got our order correct without even needing to jot anything down! Her fantastic service alone would be enough reason for us to return.

The food was simply phenomenal. We came here on a friend’s recommendation (all the way from Texas!) and are so glad we did. Everything tasted homemade, and you could feel the care that went into each dish. The corn fritters were absolutely delicious, especially paired with the butter they provided—it was a perfect combination. The biscuits were warm and flaky, and paired wonderfully with the rest of the meal. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy, packed with flavor, and easily one of the best we’ve had. The turkey meal was also outstanding—moist turkey breast, flavorful stuffing, and all the right touches for Thanksgiving week. Truly a memorable meal!

The restaurant is extremely busy, so keep that in mind when you visit. Parking is somewhat limited, but there’s plenty of it in the area—you might just need to drive around for a little bit to find a spot. When we went, the wait time was short, but I’ve heard that it can sometimes be as long as an hour to an hour and a half. It’s definitely worth the wait, though!

A big shoutout to all the chefs and cooks behind the scenes, many of whom are Hispanic. Their hard work and dedication make meals like this possible, and it’s something we should all be grateful for, especially during times when their contributions often go underappreciated. Next time you enjoy a great meal here, take a moment to think about who’s making it happen.

Overall, we were beyond satisfied with both the service and the food. Highly recommend this place, and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Chelsea, and the entire team for an unforgettable experience!

Edit 1:

We came back for thanksgiving “dinner” before driving back to Texas.

We expected a long wait time. We arrived at around 11:15 and had to make line to sign up for the waitlist. Although the line was long to signup, it went by pretty quick. At 11:21am they took down our party’s name (for 6 ppl) and were given a 2 to 2 1/2 hour wait time.

We were seated by 12:50pm. We had planned for a long wait time so while we waited we shopped around and explored the area.

They call out peoples name over a speaker system so you shouldn’t go too far out. We explored around for about two hours before I went to go check to see if they had called our name. They had not but told me it was soon. After about 10 min they called on us.

Their thanksgiving experience is a lot different than how they usually serve. It’s buffet style however they bring you the food. As much as you want but you’re not allowed to take any home! It’s was $35ish bucks per person when you add the drink and it’s totally worth it! The food was, as expected, pretty good and they sure do bring you a lot.

The menu included corn fritters, rolls, roast beef, ham, mash potatoes, green beans, stuffing, and turkey! It’s definitely a worthwhile experience especially if you’re traveling and want to celebrate with family or friends.

We will definitely be coming back if we’re ever...

🙌🏻Comfort Food Heaven with Corn Chowder as the Star🙌🏻

I recently dined at the Old Mill restaurant, which captured the essence of comfort food with a touch of country charm. The rustic ambiance and friendly service set the stage for a delightful dining experience. Let me break down my review using some metrics:

Food: Country Style Chicken: The country-style chicken was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and juicy, tender meat on the inside. The seasoning was just right, adding a burst of flavor with each bite. It was served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes and gravy, which complemented the chicken beautifully.

Catfish: The catfish was a standout dish, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to using fresh ingredients. The catfish fillets were perfectly fried to a golden crisp, revealing moist and flaky flesh inside. The accompanying tartar sauce added a tangy kick, making it a delicious and satisfying choice.

Corn Chowder: The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the corn chowder. It was a heavenly blend of creamy and chunky textures, with the natural sweetness of fresh corn shining through. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the addition of herbs and spices elevated the dish to a whole new level. It was served piping hot and accompanied by the side of warm, crusty bread that was perfect for dipping. The corn chowder was a true star of the meal and left a lasting impression.

Desserts: The dessert menu was a delightful finale to the meal. The options were varied and indulgent, ranging from classic favorites like apple pie and chocolate cake to unique treats like bourbon pecan tart. The desserts were beautifully presented, and each bite was a symphony of flavors that satisfied the sweet tooth.

Service: The service at the restaurant was warm and attentive, with the staff taking the time to explain the menu and make recommendations. The food was served promptly, and the waitstaff checked in regularly to ensure our satisfaction. The attention to detail and friendly demeanor of the staff added to the overall enjoyable experience.

Ambiance: The restaurant had a cozy and inviting ambiance, with warm lighting, comfortable seating, and rustic decor. The subtle country-style elements, such as the vintage signs and wooden accents, added to the restaurant's charm. It was a perfect setting for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.

Overall, my dining experience at the old mill restaurant was exceptional, with the highlight being the outstanding corn chowder. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of comfort food with a touch of...

The Old Mill Restaurant – A True Home-Cooked Experience

My wife, our 3-year-old son, and I stopped in for a bite to eat after walking out of a nearby restaurant—we were just tired of the same old corporate food options like Applebee’s. We wanted something that felt more like a real, home-cooked meal. And from the moment we stepped inside The Old Mill Restaurant, we knew we’d found the right place.

Coming from a restaurant and cooking background myself, I could immediately tell this place runs a tight ship. The kitchen crew was on point—working hard, focused, and making sure every dish came out fresh and fast. You could tell the food was made by hand, not pulled out of a freezer.

The wait staff was excellent. Before my drink was even halfway gone, they were already back to refill it. They checked in often, made sure we had everything we needed, and if they forgot anything, they fixed it right away without hesitation.

We ordered two meals: I got the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus green beans on the side. My wife chose the catfish, and our son had a grilled cheese made with their homemade sourdough bread, along with French fries. The chicken? Hands down the best I’ve had in Tennessee. Crispy, juicy, seasoned perfectly. The catfish was good too—but that chicken stole the show.

They also brought fresh hush puppies to the table, which were absolutely delicious, especially with that butter. We started with the corn chowder soup, and as someone who makes soup for a living, I can tell you without a doubt—it was homemade and spot-on. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor.

For dessert, we shared a slice of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, and they even gave our little guy his dessert for free since he’s under four. That’s the kind of thoughtful touch that makes a difference.

Our total was about $56 for two adults and a child, and it was worth every penny. The food, the service, the atmosphere—it all came together for one of the best meals we’ve had in Tennessee.

Thank you, Old Mill, for a true home-cooked meal. We’ll definitely be...
