Rivergate Mountain Lodge — Hotel in Pigeon Forge

Rivergate Mountain Lodge truly exceeded our expectations. The room had a very cozy cottage design and feel to it. The balcony was so peaceful and truly the cleanest balcony I have ever seen at a hotel. The jacuzzi tub was very relaxing, fit 2 people easily and we noticed they provide a step stool under the counter, if needed, to get in and out. They also provide you with a coffee pot, coffee, and other small toiletries. The bed slept amazing and although there are 2 go kart tracks in front of the hotel, when the door was shut you could not hear them. As a bonus, they provide you with a breakfast voucher. The cleaning service was amazing and left the room looking spotless everyday. The parking lot is on the smaller side; However, most nights it was no problem to get a spot and the one night they were all full, we were able to park our car in employee parking for the go kart track and just had to move it by the morning (which was no big deal). As a bonus, it is in a very convenient location and we found ourselves walking to shops, the Island, and dinner shows. The check in/out was seamless and the door codes they use worked perfectly. Good - housekeeping did a great job keeping the room clean even though we didn't see them, the rooms were spotless. Bad - expensive to stay here compared to other local places & no management on duty, just a phone number to call. Management was not responsive at all, but did say cancellation would not allow a refund. Ugly - Two separate go kart race tracks right outside the doors that operated loudly from 9am to midnight, including weekends. When we finally reached them, management said "no one has ever complained about the noise before". As long as you provide enough (loud) background noise to drown out the engines revving and whistles blowing, you will be fine. We were not. Checked out after one night and stayed in the Hampton Inn, where we enjoyed our stay. I guess since this is NASCAR country, most people have probably already lost their hearing or they're so used to the sound that it is music to their ears. We will never stay at this place again and will recommend to our extended family & friends that they should avoid this place unless they want to have the same bad experience we did. 25th wedding anniversary weekend getaway from 4 kids. The Lodge was in an excellent location. Rooms are clean and I loved the decorations/bedding/curtains. Easy checkin! Easy checkout! Very reasonable rate! The front entrance has chairs and a bench for sitting and watching the go-kart tracks which we found to be very entertaining. The rooms have great sound proofing - could hardly hear noise at all. The back balcony is very serene by the river and you can barely hear the noise of the hustle and bustle on the other side of the building.
