Really wanted to like this place. The host was friendly.the decor was campy and interesting(former mexican restaraunt) and the reviews were great. I ordered a baby veggie pizza to go and since i was really famished, i took a slice of the bbq vegetarian special of the day while i waited. On the plus side the pizza is loaded with toppings. Unfortunately the slices that were in the oven at the host table for some time were very hard to cut as the bread had become tough. So i ended up just eating the top. The bbq vegetarian was just okay in flavour profile. I hoped the baby veggie would be better since it was freshly made. I ate a slice( basically a quarter of the baby size) when i got to the hotel about 30 mins later. It was quite good. However when i tried the second slice a few minutes later it had the same toughness as the slice at thw store. One slice of baby is about 3-4inches per side of a square and 1.5 inches thich. So it can be quite filling. Bottom line eat the pizza fresh as it doesnt sit well. I won't order from there again (only as a last resort) because 25 bucks for a baby pizza that wont stay edible after an hour isnt worth it.

There’s a reason this place has such high ratings on Google, and let me tell you—it’s well deserved. Getting a 4.5+ rating isn’t easy, and my hat’s off to this small business for pulling it off (if I wore hats, that is). First off, this deep-dish pizza joint is housed in what used to be an old Mexican restaurant, which makes me wonder if the ghost of tacos past is secretly whispering flavor secrets to the chefs. Whatever they’re doing, it’s working. The deep-dish pizza is a glorious, cheesy masterpiece, the salad is actually fresh (shocking, I know), and the beer? Ice cold, just the way nature intended. The night I visited, they had live music, and the place was packed—but that didn’t stop the young staff from absolutely crushing it. They were beyond friendly, super attentive, and handled the crowd like pros. Honestly, I expected the usual “too cool to care” vibe, but nope—they were fantastic. Cleanliness? Check. Great vibes? Double check. If I lived nearby, this would definitely be my go-to spot. Until then, I’ll just dream of that deep-dish deliciousness and plot my next visit.

We ordered a Hot N Funguy today with no mozzarella and light onion. Usually the pizza here is quite good even when cheese-less, but unfortunately this one was really sad. With a disappointing amount of sausage and sauce (which was cold at the corners of the pie) and undercooked dough which lacked the crispiness we’ve come to expect from here, it was clear that this one was a bit phoned-in and didn’t have enough time in the oven. Considering that I ordered two hours in advance for a specific pickup time, they dropped the ball, and unfortunately not worth the $25 this time. Edit: Returned two days ago for a similar pizza order, plus half a dozen chicken wings in Korean sauce. Much better today so I’m bumping to 4 stars

So you think the pizza is good? Try the wings...

The wings are best in SLO, full stop, don't waste your time anywhere else. If you spent any amount of your life in the northeast US, there's a certain expectation when you get wings at a pizza place. They're not supposed to be fancy, or gourmet; there aren't supposed to be 12 flavors or any of this other nonsense. There is just an unmistakable flavor and preparation that every Californian place overthinks, until here.

The vibe. This is a place I can see myself being a regular at because I can belly up to the bar, theres good music playing, the beer / drinks aren't over-priced and the crowd/staff is completely down to earth. This reminds me of the places I miss going to back east and anyone who gets that, is going to get it here. Long...
