We went to the new bar/restaurant that opened next to the Petit Soleil and everything was delicious. We tried almost all the food items and loved them. Forgot to take pics, but the guacamole with chicharron was incredible and a good size for the 4 of us to start with. We also started with a Strawberry bitter margarita boozy slushy that was not sweet and full of flavor! My new summer drink! My friends had a Oaxacan OF that was fun and balanced with really cool custom ice and a Mezcal Negroni! Then we dove into the Tacos and we all loved the Baja fish taco & the Taco Pulpo Ajillo. The ceviche was light, fresh and exactly what you want from a ceviche. The Aguachile verde de Pulpo was really delicious as well and a crowd pleasure at our table. We had a second round of drinks and I'm singing the praises of the Jaguar Moon cocktail and my friends love the Mango Daiquiri, which is beautiful and bright and tasty. We tried the Esquites which was like a soup, not heavy, unique and full of flavor. Very different, and will be getting this every visit! The decor is stunning and the perfect night out vibe we needed. You can see the attention to detail from the design, back bar and intrigue cocktails. Great hospitality! This will be on our weekly rotation whether we are swinging through for just drinks or dinner out. Oh and highly recommend the espresso martini called a Carajillo! Lot of street parking available and open till 11 nightly. Free parking is nice to have in downtown SLO. Lastly I'm gluten free and could eat almost everything on the menu which is...
Read moreThis place has a casual and yet elegant vibe. Décor is nice with table seating and hi-tops as well as the bar itself for more casual seating. The mezcal cocktails were absolutely delicious with a nice smokiness blended with just the right about of sweet/lime sour. Charred lime slices are also tasty for those inclined to eat their garnishes. We went with the house margarita made with mescal. One of the standout features of the bar selections is their extensive (and emerging) line up of artisanal mezcals from a variety of small batch producers. For food we ordered the pulpo and the guacamole (with nice sized chunks of pork belly). Both were fantastic. The octopus was tender and perfectly cooked with a great texture that complemented the delicious, sautéed radishes, jicama and Persian cucumbers in a wonderful agua chile verde. Nice quantity of octopus. The guacamole was tasty and well blended in terms of consistency with pico de gallo. There were some small bits of jalapeno that provided a great pop and complemented the smoky sweetness of the margarita. My favorite aspect of the dish was the fried pieces (small chunks) of pork belly that combined a delicious velvety layer of fat with a filling layer of meat. Excellent balance of texture and flavor with the guacamole. Service was excellent with attentive focus from the bartender without being intrusive. Great addition to the food scene...

This spot is a hidden gem if you're looking for an elevated bar experience with dark, intimate vibes and fantastic drinks. The ambiance is cozy yet stylish—perfect for a night out.
We tried a few dishes and were pleasantly surprised by how flavorful and well-prepared everything was. The esquites were juicy and full of flavor, and the guacamole with pork chicharrón was a standout—fresh and creamy guac paired with meaty, crunchy chicharrón. The fish tacos were crispy and seasoned just right, and the enchiladas suizas had a nice tang, though my boyfriend found them a bit too sour for his taste. That would be my only minor critique.
The drinks were absolutely delicious—not watered down at all. We tried the Oaxacan OF, Oaxacan Dead, and the Watermelon Fix. Highly recommend the Oaxacan Dead.
Service was great even though they were training a cashier at the time. Staff checked in on us just the right amount without hovering. One woman stood out—I’m pretty sure she was a manager or director of food—her customer service was truly on point.
Total cost was about $95 before tip, which felt fair for the quality and experience. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time...
