We were moved to another room that had a lock that was malfunctioning. We had to bother the manager Adreana over a dozen 12 times to let us into the room on Sunday, my roommate Keith a black man, finally had to get his own tools and attempt to fix the lock himself with no luck. (Keith took video of this work) The manager was rude to him and very inconvenienced by Keith's constant need to have the door opened as the key did not work and he is a smoker. Every Time he returned to the room she had to assist him with the door, by letting him into the room. we had been staying here in our own separate rooms for nearly 2 month. Keith and I decided to save money, share 1 room with 2 beds. We requested the move. This is where things went terrible. The manager became jealous and hateful towards both of us. It started when Adreana learned of Keith and I moving into the same room together. Clearly the manager had an issue with us coinciding as her attitude and demeanor toward Keith and I changed. I am confident Melissa shared her perspective with this manager and our complaints about the first room and our request to be transferred to a more suitable room. All to get back at me when other issues arose in the new room starting with not being able to enter the room due to the broken lock. The manager called the Sandy City police and had us vacated that night. We had $300 in groceries in the refrigerator/freezer and no place to go. It was the most obvious absolute racist move I have ever witnessed in my life. We did not cause any disturbance, act inappropriate, or request anything out of the ordinary to be thrown out, disregarded and harrassed, discriminated against because of one woman's personal prejudice is a shame and some one should take note. We are in Utah and have 3% African American people who are going to do anything about it? They are so short staffed the motel nearly runs itself half the time. I have been there when the police come to clear the lobby at night when it's packed and no one is at the front desk. Customers sit for hours waiting for employees to arrive before they can check in. I actually went back recently to visit my friends that still live there. Mgr literally showed up after I had been visiting my friends for over an hour to simply have me trespassed, It was mortifying that this manager was not on duty yet came to the motel only to harrass me and disrespect me and my friends for her own pleasure and satisfaction. Folks that live there are baffled by the way the manager treats people yet no one dares to say anything for fear she will vacate, harass, trespass or even go into their rooms, go through their things and steal from them as has been reported by other patrons in the past. She discriminates against anyone she doesn't like, calls the police, charges miscellaneous fees and cancels reservations and bookings as she sees fit. Melissa actually pulled up my account at one point and showed me mgr was the one canceling my reservations on 4 different occasions. This was another way she would retaliate. At one point I was having issues with my bookings randomly canceling and then having to wait in the lobby for hours while I waited for the problem to resolve through a third party. Come to find out the manager was behind that too. Leaving people like myself wondering what to do. Mgr runs this place like she owns the building. can only hope someone will read this and state their complaint so that the problem can and will be resolved. She is not doing Extended Stay any favors; she is a liability waiting to happen. It is my understanding she is 21 years old and has this superior attitude that reflects badly on this establishment. Please "Hotel Management '' do not poke this bear by replying in some passive way that continues to ignore and excuse horrible service, filth, discrimination and harassment that would be completely insulting on top of everything else this woman put us through...
Read morePro: beds nice but pillows are typical hotel pillows, bring your own if you're picky. They have a full kitchen besides an oven. Wifi isn't too bad, especially the premium package. Free coffee and basic breakfast items. Elevator was broken the day I checked in and was fixed in no time It's near lots of food and shopping. Walking distance to places as well if you're car less. Pet friendly. Maid service doesn't come but once unless you request it more frequently, so no being woken up if you're a late sleeper. Price is decent.
Cons: If you're on the side facing the car dealership, you can't have your windows open unless you want to hear 90s music playing 24/7. (they love Britney spears) There is nothing between the floors so you will hear every noise your upstairs neighbor makes. Often its so bad, my floor was shaking. The TV will just randomly shuts off for no reason?? The cabinets were so bad in the kitchen there was a musty smell that was strong enough to make me gag when I opened them. The smell never went away. They advertise a "full kitchen with supplies" if you request it. Then when you do, you're lucky to get even half of what you asked for/what they advertise. Make sure to wash it before you use it. The forks they gave me had food stuck on them, and I had to buy a sponge and soap to do that too, since they didn't bother to give me one either? Every other extended stay I've stayed at have had basic cutlery, dishes, cookware, cutting boards, a sponge and soap and a coffee maker in the room. They advertise that when you request the items, they'll be brought up to you, all I got was rudely being told to come down and get it myself if I wanted it. I had an incident where I heard tons of loud banging noises at 3am and smelled chemicals. Had to go down to the lobby and argue with them for 45 mins with them because apparently they can't "disturb" the people above me who are being loud and doing something prouducing a strong chemical smell/gas/sulfuric smell. (you do the math) The manager has to be called, was terribly rude to me and dismissive until I said I'll call the cops then and report the smell and the fact that one one's willing to check on it. The manager then called back attempting to professional after she realized I was serious. I'm not willing to die because of their laziness to check on that kind of thing. Call me paranoid, I don't care. Oh and nothing was done about it. At all. There were three separate instances where someone just flat out tried getting into my room. It's not fun hearing a key card going into your door when that should not be happening. Especially late at night. Because of this I never fully felt safe. Last one for you nitpickers and regular extended stay customers like I am: Extended stays always come with "pantries" in the laundry room or near the front desk where you can purchase food items at a convenience. They have an extremely outdated overpriced vending machine that just eats your money half the time. The girl at the front desk rudely told me they didn't have the pantrys at any extended stays which... Is absolutely not true. Learn about the company you work for for God's sake. Loyal customers know the standards that the EXStay hotels usually have that this place didn't offer that in any capacity. There are other hotels right next door, consider one of...
Read moreJust stayed here for 13 days due to work. It was stated from the beginning no house keeping due to being stolen from previously in a different hotel. It was in the system as NO HOUSEKEEPING and they still came in. Made ONE bed and moved personal belongings to make it but didn’t make the other bed that had personal belongings on it and a bag that WAS NOT on the bed, ended up on the bed AND OPENED. Night one, maintenance (crack head) couldn’t quit being so jittery was notified about the big eye burner not working. Shoved a finger in it and says “no it don’t work”. Never came back to fix it. And kept on insisting that he will fix it when WE ARE NOT IN THE ROOM (told him not happening unless one of us were in there). Never showed up and kept lying saying he forgot, daily. Then our carbon monoxide detector started going off and the lady working the front desk took it off and never returned it. Glad we are still alive. THE IRRITATING PART OF THE STAY was that they were notified AT CHECK IN of us having an ADA certified service animal due to my wife’s health AND THEY CHARGED ME $200!!!!! The dog did absolutely no damage nor did she cause any harm. They want to complain because our service dog was in the bathtub but yet they can’t do anything about dogs being off the leashes or almost attacking me and the dog by the elevator after being pinned into the corner by an aggressive dog. I was ALSO billed $31.99 for internet THAT I DID NOT BUY. The internet there is trash and I had to use my personal hotspot or just regular data from my phone. After being charged $200 for an ADA Certified and papered dog, we will be contacting our Attorney. Melissa the property manager needs to train her people better and make sure they are doing the job they were hired to do and do it correctly. Because after it stated in the system NO HOUSEKEEPING to being charged for an ADA Service animal, is going to result in a lawsuit.
OHHH don’t get me started with all the door slamming and people screaming in the hallways and front desk not doing a single thing about it.
Pictures attached show the one bed made and the housekeeper told me to get my fresh towels from the front desk (Not a problem) but the issue is, they don’t give fresh until you hand in the old ones. Well if housekeeping went into my room after it stated NOT to and made 1 bed, they should have taken the old ones. BUT DIDNT. So what was the REAL reason for going in there????
Oh and tvs are small and out dated.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND UNTIL THEY CHANGE...
