La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham SeaTac Seattle Airport

August 15 - 16, 2023
I booked a room with La Quinta mentioned above through Priceline. Upon our arrival, the lobby was in complete disarray, unkempt, and ONLY 2 EMPLOYEES for the WHOLE hotel!
The check-in process was fine. I'd reserved a room for my Dad, who's 80, and myself. He had an early flight on the 16th of August 2023. I've not had a problem in the past with La Qunita.
We headed to the room and were CREEPED OUT just walking the dark, dingey hallway. The door to our room wasn't closed! The flip lock was in the open position. The result of that left the door propped open. I did a quick sweep of the room before allowing my Dad in. I was checking for "bad people"!
Across the hall was another room with the room number taped to the door. Pretty unprofessional, if you ask me. It too was also open. However, it looked like someone had broken into it! There was no door knob or lock on it. I considered leaving at that time for our SAFETY but my Dad needed to eat and was very tired.
We sat down to eat and much to my surprise, the white comforter on the bed where I was sitting CLEARLY showed a bed bug. I killed it, took pics, stripped the bed and threw it all in the closet. I then called the front desk asking for a new room and express my disappointment. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE for a $165 overnight stay or ANY STAY for that matter!
I proceeded to the lobby with my cell recording as the continued chaos ensued. There was a new front desk receptionist. He was trying SO hard to help me resolve the problem. There were NO other rooms available. There was 1 EMPLOYEE FOR THE WHOLE HOTEL and it was the front desk. Let me correct that, there were 2 employees but the other was gone often, as she was the shuttle driver. When she brought clean sheets to the room, she'd mentioned she'd been employed for one week. Unfortunately, the sheets DID NOT fit the 2 beds! The sheets were for a full size not a queen size bed. I didn't sleep a wink.
The gentleman at reception offered clean sheets... it was the best he could do. He tried calling the manager but to no avail. He left a message for him. To date, 9-4-2023, the manager has STILL NOT RETURNED MY CALL!
If that's not bad enough, he was uncomfortable being there AT NIGHT, IN A ROUGH AREA, AND THE ONLY EMPLOYEE! I could feel his tension and stress from it. Please understand, this is a high crime area.
La Quinta! Shame on you! Knowing how understaffed your hotel is in SUCH a bad area is horrifying. La Quinta provides NO SECURITY! That's a HUGE problem for the 2 employees and a FULL HOTEL OF PATRONS!
We had no idea of how understaffed, filthy, grimey, LONG TIME CONSTRUCTION ZONE and scary situation we'd walked into. $165 is an exorbitant amount of money for a few hours sleep and such horrible conditions.
Get it together La Quinta and update your website to show what it really looks like! I STRONGLY suggest that Priceline stop doing business with this hotel and its chain. I won't use priceline again, as a result. I'm disappointed and flabbergasted, to say the least!
I'VE REPORTED THE HOTEL TO THE "Bed Bug" registry!!! DO NOT STAY AT LA QUINTA!
If you choose to, be sure to come armed to stay safe from bad people, kill bed bugs, and not get a return call. I still have the bug in the event corporate wants it. This issue still had not been...
Read morePet friendly, brought 2 dogs and was only charged for one so that was dope. The hotel is located close to the airport so convenient for that if needed. But the area was sketch, if I didn't have two large protective dogs then I wouldn't feel safe. Though I was nervous about my dogs potentially sniffing or walking anywhere except the side walk because of potential needles, broken glass, druggy feces/pee but that's whatever. There are obviously illegal activities and transients but my two large dogs are intimidating so they actually kept people from being near me- as in folks crossed the street or deliberately stepped aside for plenty of room for us to walk by. I just walked them on the side walk and only let them use the bathroom in the clear bark dusted ground that was landscaped nicely and clean at the hotel across the street(I cleaned up after my dogs of course). I did have to walk my dogs just before midnight for the final potty walk and as I was at the intersection to walk to the safe spot I found for them to potty. A police officer who clearly picked up on the dogs and my presence out of the norm in the area asked me what I was doing, I told him. He offered to park in the Jack in The Box parking lot and wait until I was finished letting my dogs relieve themselves and return to the hotel to keep an eye on me(he was super cool and I accepted the offer for some extra safety). That was really nice of him to do and wasn't necessary but totally appreciated. Was worried about my vehicle but just parked in front of the hotel in lit area(full coverage with theft insurance so yeah that's just a risk being anywhere) and having free parking lot parking was one less expense I was glad to not have to spend. Was a good place for a less than 24 hour crash pad. Having a 12pm check out was cool. The continental breakfast was solid, nothing extravagant but perfect(bagels, hard boiled eggs still in the shell not slimy bag eggs you normally get for a continental breakfast, coffee, juice, bananas, oranges, yogurt basics but perfect). The staff from the front desk, housekeeping and even the maintenance guys working were all super sweet and very helpful. The rooms were not to my standard of clean (I actually own my own housekeeping service business) hairs, fingerprints, microwave splatters, smelly fridge but I didn't go into the experience expecting more than a cheap room and clean sheets. My standard is different for housekeeping but the housekeepers I encountered were so sweet. Toilets, bathroom sink were clean though. The bed was super comfy, the bedding was extremely clean and towels as well(all white and pressed) and the tv had nice cable selection. I would say for the money and needs for a crash pad it was perfect. I really enjoyed the kindness and helpful service that I received from every single staff member. There is a certain standard that you should expect. It was mostly the area and the grossness that my dogs could have sniffed, licked, stepped on something unsafe- but use sidewalks. I stress though for a cheap crash pad for quick overnight it's perfect and the entire staff are super rad. I would definitely recommend but inform my friends about everything if they need a cheap crash pad in Seattle. Hotel is technically...
Read moreMy recent stay at the La Quinta Inn and Suites by Wyndham Seattle Sea-Tac Airport was unsatisfactory. This property falls short in many areas. Most disappointing were the experiences I had with staff. Upon arrival, the condescending guest representative interrogated us for arriving early, was impatient, and unprofessional. She failed to provide any information regarding breakfast or other available amenities. The advertised airport shuttle was slow and inefficient. It is only available at certain times throughout the day. You are better off walking from the airport since it is in close proximity. This made the location of the hotel ideal. It is also convenient to transit and surrounded by restaurants. The room appeared acceptable, but I woke up the following morning soaked in a potent fluid that had ascended from the mattress. Upon pulling the sheets back, I noticed a large, wet spot that stained the mattress. It reeked of urine. Thankfully, we were accommodated in another room, just down the hall. This room was also lacking. The television was glitchy and the faucet in the shower was faulty. It is important to note that there is no daily housekeeping available. The hotel attributes this to staffing shortages. While understandable, far more could be done to improve the cleanliness of the property. High-touch surfaces in the lobby were dirty, carpets throughout the hotel were dirty, as were windows. This hotel is pet friendly, and there are many dogs that accompany guests here. This places a further burden on already lacking cleanliness. The fitness center was a nice amenity, but fell short in many areas. Most of the equipment was faulty or damaged. The seasonal outdoor pool and indoor hottub were uninviting and were in poor condition. The complimentary breakfast was on-par with most other Wyndham properties, but left much to be desired in terms of variety and quality. Internet access and parking were accessible and complimentary. Guest laundry was also affordable and convenient. Security was lacking. Many homeless individuals would enter the lobby at their leisure, take coffee, roam the hallways, or loiter outside. Overall, this property is only marginal, falling short in all areas. I will search for another property the next time I am...
