If I could give negative stars review I would.I was verbally attacked and verbally abused by an employee while outside on the hotel grounds with my service dog, to relieve his bladder. The guy not only didn’t introduce himself as an employee but just straight started asking me about staying here and telling me I had to have paperwork to prove my disability. I had no idea who this random man standing on the corner of the property was. He approached me twice asking me if I was staying here. I was threatened to be kicked out of the hotel because I didn’t “have papers”. I tried to educate the employee about Federal Law protection under the Americans With Disabilities Act and was continuing to be verbally abused. I explained my rights and that the request being made for papers was not legal and that he had no right to inquire further and that he was only allowed to ask me 2 questions “Is that a service dog?”and “What service does it provide?” He went and got 2 other employees involved, the 2 other employees accused me of being aggressive when I was just defending myself with facts. I asked them if they felt threatened by me and they both said “no” so I then informed them that if they didn’t feel threatened by me then they can’t accuse me of being aggressive. Then I was told I was getting “excited” over the situation and hand to God nothing about how I was treated at 11pm was “exciting”. The employee needs to be educated about the law and facts. I showed my medical alert bracelet and the federal law card I keep on me and I told him that he needs to educate himself and he literally said “Not guna happen”. I was told his name is Lamar Johnson but I’m assuming it was a lie because of the hesitation to give me his name to file a formal complaint. It seemed as if the coworker didn’t even know his whole name. This employee’s actions could have caused me to go into an emergency health situation. Then what?? Worst experience I’ve had since the day I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and stomach tumor. I never thought I’d have to ever feel that kind of trauma again. “I’m sorry” isn’t going to cut it. This person should never be able to work in a public place ever again, much less a Hilton property. The ignorance, shame and threats for any person to experience, especially a disabled person is beyond ridiculous. Not all wounds are visible. Beyond uncalled for. This is not the Hilton brand I’ve known for years. My life has been forever altered by my diagnosis and now this... my life isn’t promised tomorrow and this could have been the last thing I experienced. I’m also doing a chargeback on our credit card for the heinous behavior and conduct toward me as a person with a disability, not only did they not follow ADA Federal Law but this is outside the policy of the Hilton brand which says that service animals...
Read moreI haven't stayed in a Hilton Garden Inn for a long time I usually pick other Hilton properties but I didn't love my stay at the Hilton conference center last time I was at SEA which is a few doors down. So when I returned to Seattle I decided Ii'd try this place. I arrived at the airport around 11:30am and headed to the shuttle pick up area but it took two phone calls and 40 minutes before I was picked up, surprising for a weekday this was not a good start. The shuttle will take you back to the airport so you can catch a train into town which I did but I decided to walk back to the hotel from the airport it's about 1 mile as I didn't want another 40 minute wait if the shuttle was going to take a long .
At least when I got to the hotel on check in even though my room was not ready the front desk offered me a different room that was ready so I appreciated the early check-in after a very long flight. The rooms were fine and spacious there was two things that really make me think it's more of three star than four star not having in room safes - which should be standard now in every hotel room in this price point. The second is they only leave you one regular coffee pod in a room (one decaf two tea pods) using a Keurig, if I known I would've brought my own coffee pods . I did go down to the lobby area for the breakfast the next day and had an omelette and a coffee $20 for a omelette five dollars for a cup of Luke warm coffee, the food tasted fine. But a five dollars for a small barely warm coffee is not ideal. This was at 9:30 AM. So I figure the coffee was sitting around for a few hours.
There is no recognition of your gold or diamond status upon arrival, so no thank you for being a loyal Hilton customer etc. except later in the day I did get a text asking me how my day was and telling me they appreciated my loyalty. I'm not sure if that was AI or real person but I didn't respond. Housekeeping were friendly and sweet. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Lobby is attractive I don't know if they had free coffee they never said much on arrival. I saw a coffee pot sitting on the bar but I'm not sure if it was free or not and it looked like the same pot that I was served my five dollar cup of coffee from in the breakfast area. So I have mixed feelings about this place if you can get a good price and you're a Hilton member you'll get a $10 breakfast credit or 750 points but don't expect any extras...
Read moreVery updated and new looking inside and out. The bathrooms were great and new looking, very clean and loved the large shower! However, there is a door to the bathroom that slides on the outside of the wall. There was no privacy due to the large gap between the door and the wall. You could clearly see in and out. The room was very nice with a refrigerator, TV, lights and plenty of charging space. The beds were extremely firm and the walls and ceiling paper thin. We couldn't sleep because we could hear heavy footsteps all night above us and in the hallways, babies crying and people talking. Still we would have recommended this hotel if it weren't for the front desk staff. When we check in on Friday night, we added a second night. We were told to go thru Expedia, they couldn't do it, not sure why we had to use Expedia for the second night. So we stood there and contacted Expedia. Then the lady said she would combine the two reservations into one, which she clearly did not do as we were locked out of our room on Saturday night. We had to go back to the front desk worrying that our personal things had all been touched and packed by someone. The lady that helped us this time was nice but seemed very confused and couldn't tell us what had happened. We had her come to the room with us, which she did, and our things were still there where we had left them. Sunday morning when we checked out, Caline at the front desk was extremely rude and clearly couldn't stand her job. We wanted to make sure that we had only been billed for two nights. She couldn't or wouldn't check anything, she said we had to call Expedia. She answered a call in the middle of speaking with us. This did not help our agitation at this point. When we asked for a manager, we were told there was no one there that could help us. If we wanted a receipt and to see what was charged we would just have to call Expedia, which is who we didn't want to go thru in the first place to extend our stay. The food there was very good but very expensive. Small breakfast buffet was $15 per person. The staff in the restaurant...
