I’ve given this place several chances and the experience is all over the place. I’ve had one good customer service experience and one really good sandwich (note that the next time I ordered this same sandwich it was terrible), but all my other experiences have been mediocre or downright bad. The photo I’ve included was my most recent experience of ordering the turkey cranberry, which came out smashed flat, no aoili, and so much cream cheese it all fell in my lap on the first bite. The turkey was burnt with rock hard edges, and my wife’s half didnt have any cranberry (or it had so little she didnt know it was there). My wife threw her half away before I could include it in the picture. This is not the first time Ive ordered this sandwich, so I know how it’s supposed to be, and what makes me feel the worst is that I brought my wife to try this sandwich, raving about how good it was. I’ve had a couple good experiences but I have to rate this place 2 stars for terrible inconsistency and too many one star experiences. Edit: Kendall Nelson has posted a review with a pic of the same sandwich In my picture. You can scroll down to see her post. If you compare the pictures you will immediately see what I mean by inconsistency.

I’ve been recommended Mammoth a few times, mostly for the one that was close to the Eastlake neighborhood, however my wife and I finally got to try the one in the Seattle Center steps area. The person behind the bar was very kind and we had no issues getting our food. We ordered both the Taurus and the Nessie and got two bags of Tim’s chips to accompany. We sat outside which was pretty nice on a sunny Summer Monday afternoon. The sandwiches were not bad by any means, it just wasn’t an amazing sandwich experience for either of us. Both were reasonably sized and filling. The Taurus though, suffered from shredded braised brisket not filling out either side of the sandwich quite enough and having me eat literally just sauce, bread, arugula, and hardly any peppers half way thru one of the halves. And the Nessie was just kind of a tuna salad sandwich with occasional capers. Neither sandwich were absolute deal breakers however, as we both agreed we would consider coming back if we were in the lower Queen Anne area!

LOVED our experience at Mammoth. Sandwiches were delicious and very filling - I guess that's what to expect from a placed named Mammoth! The roasted chicken in the Predator sandwich was simply incredible. I got a refreshing Arnold Palmer on the side, and a slice of cornbread with honey butter. The cornbread wasn't a favorite (it didn't have a ton of corn flavor?) but it was alright as a side. I could barely finish the sandwich, it was such a big serving! We also loved the outdoor seating, and service was very quick even though it was busy. Definitely worth a stop, and we recommended immediately to family in Ballard! Don't let the greens on my sandwich fool you - this was FULL of BBQ! I also took a more clear photo of their menu.

They have great sandwiches but the Seattle freeze hits hard at this place. Whenever I walk in I feel like I’m the last thing the staff wants to look at. There have been times when I walk in that I have to wait to be acknowledged even when I’m the only one there. The worst was this last Sunday 8/10 at around 5pm I came after placing an online order. Eventually the lady looked up from her phone to acknowledge me and I said I placed an online order which she said will be out in a second. After waiting a minute, she dropped me a sandwich and said there’s that for you, but when I went to my car I looked and it was the wrong sandwich. When I came back and told the lady, she said, “Yeah, I just gave you the wrong sandwich so you would leave.” I was in shock and was like what and she gave me my correct and sandwich and told me to throw the other sandwich away. After I left I called the lady and was like ugh what happened and she apologized about being stressed blah blah blah. But I just wanted to make sure she didn’t poison my sandwich 2 hours before the biggest interview of my life. She confirmed there was no poison but man what a...
