I made my way to Rochambeau this evening and had a great experience. The bar was bustling, but the standing room surrounding the bar didn't make it feel cramped or claustrophobic. For cocktail, I had the Fiery Crash. Despite the name, the citrus concoction was tasty and not spicy, and I really enjoyed the smoke salted rim. The draft cider and Lucky Envelope Blackberry Cobbler sour were also very good. For food, I got the smashed potatoes and the Adobo meatballs. The fried potatoes were delightfully crisp, and the center was pillowy and soft; a wonderful contrast of textures. The dill jalapeno aioli...Good God, I could have drank the stuff it was so delicous. The meatballs were also killer! The sauce, cut with coconut milk, was creamy, sweet, and umami for days. Some charred broccolini soaked up the divine sauce and provided a satisfying crunch. My only regret was I secretly wanted another course, but my tum tum was out of space. C'est la vie; I'll just have to go back! The service was attentive, informative, and polite. Taylor was tending bar, and graciously offered explanations and refills when needed (he's also easy on the eyes 😜). The chef, whose name I failed to get, ran the food, giving brief descriptions of the culinary treasures on my plate. This is a small, independent place with people who care and share their talents. The limited menu showed intent and thoughtfulness, much preferred to huge menus with mediocre food. The space was cool and inviting. I suspect and hope this becomes a neighborhood staple, because from my one experience I can tell you it's a gem. Thanks, Rochambeau: y'all crushed it!

I can't say enough good things about Rochambeau! I came here out of curiosity after seeing a Malört-based drink on their menu (Three Best Friemds), and I've found myself coming back constantly ever since I recommend them to friends all the time, and I absolutely consider this to be my "happy place" in Seattle now. Their drinks and food are equally phenomenally crafted, elegant yet unpretentious, and frequently playful. They also craft a new spirit-forward mystery shot so frequently that I've never had the same one twice! The food and cocktail menus both rotate constantly, and I always get a kick out of their fun -- and sometimes extremely silly -- drink names (Kenny G Spot, anyone?) It's a very small space (in a good way), so it's an ideal spot to go as a group of 1-3, but not typically manageable for larger groups unless food isn't being ordered (as food service is only available at the bar). I do consider Rochambeau to be one of the best places in town for solo diners, as every single member of their staff is absolutely delightful, kind, and fun to be around. I very much recommend visiting here, and I can almost guarantee you'll want to come back!

I've been coming to Rochambeau for about 2 years now and over that time I have tried nearly every cocktail on the menu, as well as dozens off the menu and I've yet to be disappointed. I'm continually impressed by the creativity and deep knowledge of the Rochambeau crew. When I first started coming here, I thought I hated most kinds of spirits, but they have completely changed my opinion on just about everything for the better. As far as the food goes, words don't cut it. Some of the absolute best bites I've had in my life have been at Rochambeau. With a rapidly changing menu, there's always something new to try, and the portions are quite generous too. The atmosphere is great, the music selection is always fun, and it's a vibrant place to socialize with locals and people passing through alike. The crew are all cool as hell, unpretentious, and extremely good at what they do. It's incredible what 4 (now 3) individuals pulling together in the same direction can put out night after night. Cool bar!

Wonderful little neighborhood craft cocktail bar that serves small bites with passion and expertise! You know these guys have been in the industry a long time. Their dedication to their craft is apparent and the quality isn't lacking! Just looking at the ingredients used (both food and drink) you know they aren't trying to sell you cheap stuff for an expensive price. The chef even hand-delivered each of his kitchen creations personally and informed the guest of what it was they ordered and the ingredients. While he might not do that every time, he certainly did in the hour I was there!

One of the reviews said their cocktails took forever to make. Sure, these guys aren't making drinks at lightning speed, but if you want that, then go to a dive bar or a Ruth's Chris or some "fancy" but corporate restaurant. The staff here pays attention to every detail and you just know they love what they do and have experience doing it. Here at this new restaurant, they discovering which items work well and which don't, and zeroing in on the best drinks they can make for you - the patrons. Instead of counting the seconds without a drink in your hand, talk to your friend or your spouse that you're enjoying the night with. The food and beverages to follow will certainly solidify a wonderful evening for you!

I'm exciting to go back as I was only able to try one food item and one drink (well... also got to try the affogato!). See you soon!

** Parking is $20 in the lot across the street. Expensive! The street parking is much cheaper IF you can...

I recently visited Rochambeau, a stylish bar in Seattle, and I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. From the creative cocktails to the attractive ambiance, Rochambeau was a standout spot that left a lasting impression.

The first thing that caught my eye was the decor. The bar's sleek and modern design was tastefully complemented by the warm lighting, plush seating, and vibrant artwork. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, but not too loud or overcrowded.

As for the drinks, Rochambeau definitely delivered in terms of quality and creativity. The menu offered a unique and diverse selection of cocktails, many of which featured uncommon ingredients and unexpected flavor combinations. I tried the "Gold Rush," a bourbon-based drink that was perfectly balanced with honey, lemon, and bitters. It was a perfect choice for a chilly Seattle evening and was one of the best cocktails I've ever had.

The service at Rochambeau was also noteworthy. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, making us feel welcome and well taken care of. They were happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions we had about the menu.

Overall, I would highly recommend Rochambeau to anyone looking for a fun and sophisticated night out in Seattle. The creative cocktails and attractive ambiance made for a truly memorable experience. I can't wait to go back and try more of their...
