The hotel was located on the slopes and only a few minute walk from the base. The people at the front desk were extremely friendly and the shuttle service was superb, for the most part. ||Unfortunately, the ski in/out feature didn’t work well for my family as we were able to ski out to a stair case at the base. If we had walked up mountain by a few steps, it may have been better, but due to the location of the room we stayed in, we skied down to a staircase, therefore negating the ski in/out future that we were so excited about. ||We stayed in room 114 which could almost be sold as a 1991 experience including a vhs player and cassette player in room! However this also means that the room was very dated as the toilets were old and gross looking, the tv in the bedroom was extremely small, the couch had a bar in the middle of it which was extremely uncomfortable when you plopped down on it after a long day of skiing, and the master bathroom had a ridiculously huge jacuzzzi tub which made it just awkward and difficult to get in and out of. ||We had family members in another unit, which was much nicer than ours, but this is just my review of unit 114.||Lastly, we did not get any housekeeping services during our week stay, which I was a little surprised by. The front desk was amazing at providing extra towels and soaps, however it was a pain having to go ask...
Read moreOther than the terrible discount website we booked the flights through, the trip was perfect. Please avoid using those discount sites - I believe it was called Fare.Hold, but they have like 6 other names I came across (like US Travel, then they gave me another name...). You book through them, and then they tell you they dont actually have the flights with American. Its non-refundable, so then you are stuck and have to find the "alternative" flight options through them (which in this case involved layovers and an additional $1300). Never again. This site was riddled with terrible reviews - I should have looked first. Save yourself a LOT of aggravation and just book through the airlines directly (American, United, etc.). But, booking through VRBO was super easy and went just as planned. The Chateau Chamonix was beautiful and very well stocked for our 6 family members. From the Chamonix, you ski right down to the lifts. Picture perfect views, super comfy beds... Just a perfect vacation. Will be coming back to the Chateau Chamonix again...

Our condo was very nice and had everything we needed. I was in three others and they were equally as nice. The customer service was great. If we needed something, a staff member was there! I thought that I left a vest in the boot room. A staff member walked by the hot tub (where I was,) so I flagged her down. I asked her if it had been turned in. Literally, five minutes later, the person I spoke with brought it over to me! Now that's customer service!
Since it is part of the mountain resorts, you have access to a great shuttle. It's super easy to call for a shuttle… It's an app.
It was a great place to stay and if I'm ever in steamboat, I'll stay there...
