The outside doesn't match the food! That's a great thing. I was told this location is better than the other in Brandon. I ordered the VIB Breakfast where you can select four items. I selected to have two crêpes, two soft scrambled eggs, and two bacon. You know I am a crêpe connoisseur. So the plate was very presented very well. Being the crêpe connoisseur I am I would have loved more cheesecake filling. But the description does it well. It is in fact, cheesecake cream inside. The folding of the crepe was pleasing to the eye. The crêpe itself was a little cakey so it provided more than the usual chew factor. The whip cream really had no flavor, it didn't take away from the dish. The graham cracker sprinkles didn’t really interfere with the taste of the whole dish. I didn't taste them at all. Presentation factor, not mad. Just glad it didn’t interefer with the taste. I came Up the the amazing revelation- (not true, I do ask at another breakfast chain) I will ask for more cream filling… The next time I come. I did say said next time I come. I was impressed with the food quality. Looking on the outside and coming in I would not think they would serve this quality of food service here. I was very impressed. The other guest had 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 bacon. She stated she would actually be able to eat all the pancakes because they weren’t extremely and thick. That’s a great thing! Our eggs were cooked ok, not overcooked. The bacon was not overly crispy. The water I think you can skip. I’ll leave that there. Wednesday was FREE pie day. Get your slice!! Peach, apple, strawberry, tripple berry, pumpkin and banana cream. The coffee was was a 4 out of 5. The waitress started saying the flavors of the cream; and it almost made me want to order coffee but I don’t drink it. As a non-coffee drinker I was impressed that they had a flavor I would actually order. I will definitely say I was very impressed at the energy and demeanor of all the waitresses I saw. They are very calm and sound pleasant. Christine was amazing.

I was a little leery of this place—only 4 stars? Crazy rundown exterior? Hmmm but convenience won and I am glad of it. It’s clean inside but smells old. Honestly, it’s just an old diner. We were seated right away and Crystal was at the table asking about drinks soon thereafter. She got them while we perused the menu and came back with them shortly afterwards. My son got the strawberry-banana French toast. My daughter got blueberry pancakes with blueberry sauce and I did the VIP because the options were crazy. I chose the 2 egg omelette, fresh fruit, pancakes and a small chicken fried steak, a Southern breakfast staple. Our food was out in minutes, hot and fresh. I was nervous the steak would be soggy as stated in another review, but I worried for naught because it was crispy, well seasoned goodness. My pancakes and omelette were fluffy, and my fruit was sweet and firm. My son’s French toast looked scrumptious with fruit splayed over every piece of his toast and the enthusiasm with which he gobbled it down confirmed it. My daughter scarfed down and her sausage and said her pancake was great. It was about 50 bucks for the three of us with coffee and apple juice. You can’t beat that. Highly recommend this place and Crystal was the consummate professional juggling a huge table of 10 alone while making sure her other tables weren’t without. I didn’t think to take pics until mid meal, but I have included them. Don’t be scared—this place is a gem!

Chicken fried steak and eggs. Came with hashbrowns and pancakes. The chicken fried steak wasn't good just tasted soggy and processed ordered over medium eggs they came out with the whites still not cooked. Was told that's how the cook does over medium. I was a breakfast cook for many years when I was younger, whites should be fully cooked. The food just wasn't good no matter what they did just not good quality. Sausage gravy was thin and lacked meat and flavor. Pancakes where good. Service was good. I suggest they order there truck from somewhere else and teach there cook about eggs. Then it would be good. Server was very nice forgot her name but young girl with curly hair. She had my eggs fixed right and did the best she could with the hand she was dealt. My date enjoyed it more than me. But once I told her it was chicken fried steak she said. "Why was it brown."

  • I'm updating this post in June /2022. I want to make sure this post is read as much as possible because customers must be aware of it. I don't experience this at other restaurants. This Village Inn has certainly taken a nose dive! *** On December 15th 2021 ... The Village Inn manager (11302 N 30th Street Tampa, Fl 33612) pointed out that I was NOT entitled to a senior discount due to choosing food from a 4 item section because it is already discounted. I always feel thankful for a 'senior' discount because there is No law that states I'm 'entitled' to a discount. I told him (in a very civil tone) that I had been visiting that Village Inn (11302 N 30th Street Tampa, Fl 33612) for years, as well as others and this was the First Time I had Ever been told that and that was why I was surprised. I always ask, but I CAN afford the price if I don't get a discount. The manager had a very Arrogant Attitude with a Disrespectful tone as he pointed out to the Tiny Small Print under that section of choice items - that ordering from that section - No discount was allowed. Ok ... while the small print was Absurd, I could even accept that rule (if that was the rule) but I could NOT & would NOT tolerate that manager's Disrespectful Attitude over a 10% senior discount. I would know in the future and when I simply interrupted his Ranting by saying - ok, let's just pay and get out of here because I'm done with this. That manager Then escalated his voice and Told Me - just watch your mouth! I replied, I am Not going to stand here while you run your mouth about this & I don't Have to watch my mouth. The manager replied - yes you do while you're in My Restaurant!!! We paid & as we reached the door to leave ... the manager yelled ... and "Don't Come Back"!!! Be well assured that I will Not be back there to provide business to them. They do Not do that great anyway. * We ate there (11302 N 30th Street Tampa, Fl 33612) the previous evening (12/14/2021) and a different manager told us that 'they' are planning strategies to draw 'better' clientele for their Restaurant. That manager pointed in the direction of the community southwest of the restaurant and said - "We plan to keep those 'low-class' people out of here. That low-class kind won't be acceptable. We are going to advertise to the college students to start a new group of customers". * I hope the other Village Inn Restaurants do well ... and I do hope the college students will refrain from eating there. I hope well Deserved Karma will cause 'that' Village Inn (11302 N 30th Street Tampa, Fl 33612) to...
