Our family stayed in a 3 BR/3 BA condo at the Lodge Tower (Apt. 385 - 391). The condo was very nice, clean, spacious and had amazing views of the Vail slopes. Gondola 1 was right next door with ski valet, which was very convenient for our ski days. Condo location was perfect, just a short walking distance to all restaurants and shops.||||There was plenty of room for all 8 of us in the condo. The condo featured a Bavarian style of decor. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils, pots & pans and seemed to have been updated recently. It was open to the family room which was appreciated by the "cook". The stone fireplace was also a nice touch. (They supplied firewood and starters daily)||||The Master Bedroom had a comfortable bed with access to the balcony, the 2nd Bedroom had double full beds and the 3rd bedroom had a full bed and a pull out sofa bed. The pull out sofa bed was actually very comfortable for a sofa bed and had a thick memory foam mattress. ||||There is no laundry room in any of the units, however, they have guest laundry on the 5th floor (pay per load) and it is stocked with detergent and dryer sheets. This was very much appreciated for a family with young kids.||||The front desk staff and concierge were very friendly and helpful. They also offered to grocery shop for us! They have self serve coffee, tea, & hot chocolate all hours of the day. The breakfast was included and it was great. Everything was individually packaged (Covid-19) and there were plenty of choices in food. (Fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, hard boiled eggs, etc...) Our kids loved the afternoon snacks (Chips, Cookies, Fruits) that were sitting out daily. This was very much appreciated and enjoyed by all of us!||||Also, there was an amazing PIRATE SHIP playground right behind Gondola 1. Our kids LOVED it!!||||We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lodge Tower and look forward to our next trip. Would definitely stay here again and...
Read moreI am rating this property very good because we received a spacious, nicely renovated, clean 2 bedroom/3 bathroom unit on the 6 floor. The gym (the one at the adjoining hotel) and the pool/hot tubs are very nice, parking and a small but adequate continental breakfast are included. The location is perfect - great in the summer and I am sure even better in the winter. The biggest issue I have is that when making a reservation, they refuse to send pictures or confirm which unit you are reserving. I now understand why - some of the units are significantly better than others - some much more renovated than others and the locations vary dramatically. We faced the town but also overlooked the parking lot. There is a huge air compressor between the Lodge Tower and the hotel which make it impossible to keep your windows open because of the noise. Some units don't even have a/c. I heard one employee say that they can't rent some of the first floor units because some don't have a/c and the noise from the compressor is too loud for windows to be kept open. Even on the 6th floor, the noise was very loud. We got lucky because it wasn't very busy, but for this reason I will not rent here again. For the price I am paying and if you know you have availability, you definitely should be able to confirm the unit I will be receiving with pictures and a description. By not doing this, you (the Lodge and reservations) are being deceptive. I am sure most people reserving are surprised (good or bad) when they see what they are getting. The reservations agents are cagey and refuse to be specific because they know some units are much more desirable than others. If you are going to take my reservation, I deserve to know which unit I will be in and you should be required to send pictures. I am surprised more people don't discuss this issue on Tripadvisor. Otherwise, our stay...
Read moreWe spent the week from Christmas Day to New Years day at the Lodge Tower. We were in room 699, with a seemingly never-ending wrap around balcony that had unmatched views of the mountain and Gondola One from the main part of the balcony, and a great view of the Village from the side balcony.||||It was a large 2 bedroom suite with more than enough room for our family of 5. The kitchen was well appointed,. We went to the supermarket the first day we were there and stocked the refrigerator. Overall, the suite was a little dated, but not too bad, and all of the positives made that one negative seem insignificant.||||Stephen at the concierge desk was the best. We started working with him a couple of weeks before we arrived. He managed to get us reservations at all of the restaurants we wanted to go to. Most of which are difficult reservations to get under normal circumstances, but with the restaurants at 1/4 capacity, I dont know how he managed to get us in, but he did. The other staff was extremely helpful as well. We, thankfully, didn't bother renting a car, and the drivers were always willing to take us wherever we needed to go in the hotel van.||||The free breakfast was nothing to write home about, but was adequate enough that we didn't feel like we needed to go out for breakfast. The ski valet could not have been more convenient, right next to the Gondola One line. And the location of the hotel cannot be beat. Right in the village and mere steps to the mountain. I would definitely stay here again on future...
