I wonder why the staff just chooses to be rude. It seems like these teenagers do not want to work here, while in fact there were 20 of them standing around. We were treated with disrespect and rudeness. When my husband told the staff it was his first time skiing, the kid literally scoffed and walked away, not even helping him fitting into his shoes. I was sitting next to him, and also the same treatment was received. The girl basically told me to put them on by myself, even though I also told her it was my first time. I ended up having to ask to exchange for a bigger size after walking out with my toes curled up inside the shoes. Not to mention they basically offered no assistance when asked why my husband did not receive a helmet. The supposedly manager replied while shrugging “ I don’t know.” Clearly they ran out and did not have any decency to tell us. When asked where we can get ski pants, he scoffed again, “HAHA NO ONE will rent out pants here.”
Overall, that was the saddest and most rude welcome to Vail, CO. Everyone else was nice for the rest of our trip. We learned that not all people in Colorado...
Read moreRented demo skis for four days. At $253.22, they were the most expensive demo skis I ever paid for (attached receipt). Around 3PM on Monday March 1st, the store was pretty much empty, but it took 45 minutes to get the skis. First, their computer did not have the info about the several previous times I rented skis there, so we had to start from scratch. The technician was pushing very short skis, shorter than I had ever used. Eventually he agreed to give me the length skis that I wanted, but they were in terrible condition (see photos). The friend I was with rented boots and skis. After one run, he went back to the store and was offered much better boots and told that those were for those “who know to ask for good boots”. I should probably have done the same...
Read moreEven though you rent through the resort, this was the cheapest ski rental place that I could find, especially if you book ahead online and get the discount with your Epic pass. There were some pretty long lines so it took me a while to get my equipment, but I expected it to be busy on a Saturday morning.
The staff were super helpful and accommodating. I'm pretty picky about my ski boots, and the girl who helped me was so patient and helped me find a comfortable pair. I also ended up wanting to change the type of ski package I chose, and they were able to refund me the difference when I checked out.
Overall, I had a good experience picking up and dropping off my skis. I also didn't have any issues with...
