We were looking forward to this stay and initially, as we pulled into the property it seemed to be well kept and lovely. Once we drove around the back to our cabin and started looking around, it was clear that the rest of the property, not along the road, was in disrepair. Weeds and trash were apparent, porches and roofs needed replacement, and swallows were living in nooks and crannies of several cabins including ours. The inside of our cabin was great- roomy and comfortable, so we were at least glad for that.||They also have employees living at the back of the property in trailers and cabins and the area was unkept. It was also next to the playground (most had yellow tape/was broken) which felt creepy. I would not have let my kid play in that playground. ||The spa was also gross and in desperate need of chemicals which was a bummer. We were looking forward to a soak after a day of hiking.||One morning we woke up to a man just outside our window, on our porch, smoking and charging his phone and lingering. We learned he was a maintenance worker, but it was pretty unprofessional. No warning, no uniform, no way to know who he was without asking. When we told the front office, another worker responded with, “it’s completely normal and acceptable to smoke in many other countries”. Okay. ||My biggest gripe with this place is that we were significantly overcharged. We had already paid in full a year ago, yet were charged again along with a $500 charge that we were told was a hold. Okay. When we called to get this resolved, the front office said they could not help and provided the manager’s contact info. He did not respond for 2 days do we had to call our credit card company to dispute the charges. Then they charged us again. Long story short, after 2 days of contacting the manager and our credit card company, it was finally resolved. This is not something anyone wants to deal with, especially while on vacation! ||I think this place could be awesome with better management. But as-is, there is no way I would recommend this place or stay here again. Wayyyy too overpriced and...
Read moreIt was my 50th birthday trip for snowmobiling with two other couples. Originally, I reserved the Explorer Cabins which is right next door. They couldn’t guarantee the three cabins I’d rented would be together for the three couples so I canceled that reservation and booked with Hibernation Station back in October. Hibernation Station made notes and reserved specific cabin numbers for us and all the reservations were under my name and gave me every assist hat we would be together as it’s first come first served and I booked EARLY. When we arrived, we were told, “Sorry, your cabins aren’t together due to a burst water pipe”. They should’ve called us when they had to separate our cabins (not even close) and it wasn’t that busy so they could’ve put us at LEAST in the same row. It wasn’t important to me to have everyone close by and they didn’t communicate or even bother to try and fix it. ||When I called, after our stay and before leaving this review (at their request via email), the lady said she didn’t get why they didn’t put us in other cabins next to each other and she would call the manager and see what she could do to make it right. She never even called back. After thinking about it more than I wanted to, I called back to give them one last benefit of the doubt and she changed her tune said “it was out of our control”. Opposite of her understanding and commiserating with me two days prior. It just hashed everything up again and made me even more frustrated.||The Explorer Cabins next door have fire pits and Hibernation Station didn’t BUT they did have an outdoor hot tub. We went to it after the second day of snowmobiling and it had two feet of snow piled up on the cover and when we pried the cover off the water was luke warm at best. No thank you. ||It wasn’t that expensive so I guess, in this case, we got what we got what we paid for. Once they got their money, they didn’t care about keeping their...
Read moreFirst of all, the positives. The cabins are beautiful. Ours had a kitchenette and two televisions as well as a full-sized refrigerator and dishes. It's conveniently located in West Yellowstone. It even has a laundry where you can clean your clothes on site. There are daily visits by the cleaning staff and they will even do your dishes. Something that was odd but not necessarily negative was that the cleaning staff will leave a plastic tub outside your cabin that has extra amenities such as extra towels or soap.
Now for the negatives. We went there during the summer and only about half of the cabins had air conditioning. Apparently they're very prepared for the winter but not so much prepared for the summer. Our cabin had no air conditioning so we had to rely on getting extra fans. We would then wait until nightfall, open up all the windows ,and have the fans blow the cool air into the cabin and then close the windows during the day to keep the cool air in. They are currently working on making all the cabins air conditioned, but that won't be finished until sometime in the summer of 2022. We had some neighbors in the cabin next to us that were facing the same problems we were and they were absolutely miserably hot. Other than that that was the only major negative. There were some minor negatives like how the doors don't close all the way because of expanding and contracting from the temperatures. They're also some minor air gaps in the cabin. My second biggest gripe besides no air conditioning was the shower head sprayed in all different directions so it made it difficult to get all the soap off of you. This could easily be fixed by just changing the shower head.
There are other small things that they could do that would really improve your experience and I hope that they look into doing that. The cabin overall was excellent and the cleaning staff...
