The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is, because the owner was super nice. My boyfriend, and I had traveled all day, exhausted, and all we wanted was to he close to Yellowstone so we would not have to travel any longer. We took the only room available in the entire area which was this place. We were charged $165 to stay in what looked like a $40 place. The outside of the building looks run down, the view is a run down trailer park, and gravel driveway. The door was out align, so there was a 1/4" gap at the top when shut, so you could see daylight through it. When we first got there is was very cold, hearing option was a space heater. We moved the space heater from my the bathroom over closer to the beds, and then went to dinner. When we got back the space heater had tripped the breaker, so it was still cold. All I wanted in the morning was a hot shower, again more things wrong. I am 5' 7" ish so not very tall, and had to squat a foot down, because the shower head was so low. Okay, I can deal with it being u comfortable until I got a minute of a hot shower before it turned ice cold, and didn't go back to being warm. I feel completely taken advantage of. I understand paying more to be in a tourist location, but you must at least have a decent place to charge that.
We stayed in 7 different hotels along our trip, this one was the most and by far the absolute worst. If I paid $50 I wouldn't be complaining, you expect to get what you paid for. The next night we stayed by Mt. Rushmore another tourist location paid $20 less to be in a Marriott hotel that was brand new, full kitchen, huge shower, and water park. Please stop taking advantage...
Read moreCheck in was simple and the owner, Lisa, was very friendly. The room was very clean and tidy. It looked like it had been renovated recently. It's no 5 star - high end hotel but for a family on a budget and short visit, the stay worked for us. The location was perfect. A short drive away from shops, restaurants and park entrance, but close enough to everything. The microwave worked great. The fridge was troublesome to get the correct temp for our goods. Our food froze the first night and the second day we were not sure if it was at the proper temp for our milk and meat so we ended up throwing it away when we left to be safe. The heater worked perfectly and the room stayed at a comfortable temp using the digital thermostat on the unit. It wasn't as noisy as some similar units we've experienced at other hotels.||A few things to note, the water heater doesn't last long. After a long day of driving and walking I wanted to take a nice hot bath but after filling the tub with water, it was only luke warm at best. Was a bit disappointed. Warned the family that they had to take very quick showers. Room walls are thin. We could hear our neighbors next door and they weren't doing anything out of the normal to be crazy loud. Finally, the beds are next to the wall on one side so if you have 2 people sleeping in them, one will have to crawl out the end if they need to go to the bathroom during the night.||Before booking through popular websites like Expedia, check their website pricing first. It was cheaper to book directly through their website.||Overall, it was a pleasant stay and would...
Read moreWe visited Yellowstone National Park and booked a couple of different motels/hotels in town during our stay because of $$ per night. The picture online and rating of a 2-Star motel had us a bit concerned; but upon arrival we were greeted with a VERY outgoing, helpful and friendly receptionist! I would DEFINITELY recommend this motel to others!! There is a mini fridge, portable heater, table, TV on a rolling stand, newly remodeled bathroom/shower, coffee maker and microwave. There are 2 chairs to go with the table/desk and 1 upright couch/chair. The bathroom light was out, and so we called down to the main office and left a message about it being out. Less than 5 min. later-the owner was there to re-set the breaker and the lights were back on. I would definitely recommend this motel to others! Don't let the exterior of the building fool you-this is a great place! Just wanted to make an addendum-since sleeping the night..The bathroom light breaker must have tripped again several times-because the bathroom light was off all night. The bed wasn't as soft as I would have preferred-but out of the 2 queen beds in the room-the other one was softer. I'd still book and stay here again since the price was right for our budget and visiting...
